teblin Posted 27 March 2010 Posted 27 March 2010 It was poor today, though also unlucky as derby were never going to score for themself. Very strange team selection, if you play kermogant surely he should play up front. I said i'd be happy with 4 points from the 3 away games thats still more than possible we could even get 6. Hopefully Berner is back for tuesday and then onwards and upwards. One point i would like to make however is i though oakley played well..............................for derby!
ta-fc Posted 27 March 2010 Posted 27 March 2010 did you not notice i had 'sarcastic' lock on.... its like caps lock but you only find it on city fans keyboards with a GSOH!!! sounds like a dating post now!!!!! AND ANOTHER THING.... its every Leicester fans right to be miserable... it makes the good times all the better!!!
The Shreds Posted 27 March 2010 Posted 27 March 2010 Far from done, I booked digs for going to Wembley on May 22nd today, we WILL conquer.
fatmando Posted 27 March 2010 Posted 27 March 2010 FFS sort 'em out Pearson! For a week or so there I was 90% sure of the play-offs. Now, I'm 60/40.
Dylan Posted 27 March 2010 Posted 27 March 2010 Watched it on some dodgy streams today and thought both teams were poor tbh, and one mistake cost us. We've got two extremely difficult away games coming up- Cardiff and WBA. It'll be difficult to get much but I feel were capable of getting something. I think we need to try and get 3 points from our next 2, to get our confidence up. Were only 4 points off Blackpool now, which is not much considering we were 8 points clear 7 days ago, so we need to get back on form. Does anyone have any idea of when Fryatt will be back to match fitness? Cause i think we need him back now. He makes things happen, and i feel if we had someone like him for the past 3 games, we would've got more than 1 point. I think for Cardiff we should stick to our same back 4. Start Spearing instead of Oakley- who has been POOR of late- in midfield. Dyer has been amazing IMO lately, so he should start unless he needs a rest. I think we should rest Waghorn, and play Gallagher and N'guessan. Hopefully Bruno will be back soon. Whenever he's not playing we seem to dip on form (even though the defence was good today as it was a keeping howler).
buzzy Posted 27 March 2010 Posted 27 March 2010 Stop talking out of your arse. It's still in our own hands. well he may be right with what he said 2 nil up last sunday fu*ked hit up lose in midweek and to day to 2 fairly stuggling teams when we should at least be getting a point in both games why would we want to go up just to get hammered week in week out some leicester fans think that would be good just for the money CRAP it would do nothing to players confidence and for the club it will be back to square one
Mikey Posted 27 March 2010 Posted 27 March 2010 I still think we'll be fine. Blackpool have got a harder run-in than us. As long as we get a couple of points from our next 2 games, we'll be fine.
Salieri Posted 27 March 2010 Posted 27 March 2010 well he may be right with what he said 2 nil up last sunday fu*ked hit up lose in midweek and to day to 2 fairly stuggling teams when we should at least be getting a point in both games why would we want to go up just to get hammered week in week out some leicester fans think that would be good just for the money CRAP it would do nothing to players confidence and for the club it will be back to square one Ever heard of punctuation? Having said that, it'd still be a load of bollocks even with a few full stops and commas.
Webbo Posted 27 March 2010 Posted 27 March 2010 well he may be right with what he said 2 nil up last sunday fu*ked hit up lose in midweek and to day to 2 fairly stuggling teams when we should at least be getting a point in both games why would we want to go up just to get hammered week in week out some leicester fans think that would be good just for the money CRAP it would do nothing to players confidence and for the club it will be back to square one A bit of punctuation wouldn't hurt. Btw going up and coming down again wasn't put WBA back to square 1.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 27 March 2010 Posted 27 March 2010 Just posted this in another thread. Win on Tuesday, then theres the 7 point gap again.
MC Prussian Posted 27 March 2010 Posted 27 March 2010 Just come back from the match. Yes, we're still in the hunt for promotion to the Premier League (via playoffs, automatic promotion is out of the question) and for a newly-promoted team that did not spend too much money on new signings, we're doing tremendously well. BUT... Today I witnessed an atrocious display from our team. It was THAT bad. I mean, Derby were shit and we quickly adapted to that style of play, just like against Coventry once we were two-nil up. Since the first twenty minutes against the Zoo, we've somewhat lost a particular spirit. All effort gone, no desire to win it, appearing lacklustre and without focus. We lost almost every second ball and I couldn't make out a single player that really wanted to close down on the opposition. And after that goal, the defense often resorted to play the ball back to Weale instead of moving forward. We lost 1-0 and Derby didn't even score. In fact, County never really showed up and by god, do they deserve to be that down the table. No real pressure coming from their part at all. And as for Weale's shocker - it can happen. But with a team like Derby that seem to be unable to attack and score in a million years, he gave them a very generous early Christmas present. I do hope they still go down. So, given their poor form, we should've won it easily. But we didn't. The reason for it? No one was up for it, Waghorn completely lost up front all alone and the hoof balls going his way didn't help it, either. Kermorgant remained anonymous for the time he was on, but can't really blame it on him. Where was our midfield? A couple of runs from Dyer can't cover up that the central trio of Wellens, King and that turd Oakley never managed to control the game and failed to set up our strikeforce (poor Waggy on his own). King was nowhere to be seen for the majority of the game, at least Wellens dared to start the engine and tried to make the crap first half forget - he had a cracking shot on goal in the first half. But it took an entire 67 minutes before we actually showed little signs of threatening the Derby box. So, here's the main reason why we lost today: The midfield didn't provide the striker(s) with supplies. And one man in particular is to take the blame for it. Matthew Oakley - if you're ever want to play for this team again, think again. Think hard. Not worth the captain's armband by a mile today. I can understand he's had the time of his life at Derby, but he clapped the home fans during (!!) the game and again when he was substituted. At least do it before or after the game, but this was too crazy a gesture. He gave a toss about his other teammates, lost the ball numerous times, only showed up to please his former club. What a service to the club that is paying his wages... Captains are to be influential and Oakley was an absolute negative example at Pride Park today. His inability turned out to do Derby a big service, at times it felt like Oakley was still playing for the Rams and we were in a 10-against-12 situation way too often. He should be dropped to the bench and stripped of his captaincy with immediate effect. He offers nothing to this club anymore, he can't pass, shoot, control the ball or set up attacks - furthermore, he's slow and today showed his true colours by pleading his allegiance to Derby ****ing County. All in all, it was a shambolic team display against a very poor opposition (yes, again!!!), if I could name MOTM it would be Chris Powell - for a man of his age, he put in an enormeous effort which most of the others on the pitch today could cut a huge slice off. Hobbs was also solid as ever, no complaints there. Other culprits: The one dark-haired linesman we had was pathetic - countless offsides given against us, completely lost it. Pearson also has to answer a few questions - why he played a 4-5-1 from the start, I don't understand. A tame, feeble formation against a really, really poor team. With us lying in fourth before the game, you'd have thought we'd go for all three points. Oakley should've never even started or at least been taken off at half-time. Oh, and Robbie Savage is a w*nker - you had to see the face he made when he passed the away end. Grr... Cardiff away on Tuesday is going to be huge. In "make it or break it" fashion.
dandannieldanok Posted 27 March 2010 Posted 27 March 2010 Disappointing, but Pride Park has proven quite a profitable place for Derby this season despite them being low in the table. We're in a bit of a rut but we were in the same boat with the Forest and Bristol City maulings before christmas. We recovered then and I'm sure we'll recover now. It's a long season and these players will suffer dips in form from time to time. Just seen the goal on SSN. Chris Weale, deary me Inexcusable error. He's always seems a touch casual and slow to redistribute when given backpasses (to me anyway), but that was just ridiculous today.

Hopefully Berner is back for tuesday and then onwards and upwards. One point i would like to make however is i though oakley played well..............................for derby! Kermorgant hasn't really played upfront since October, when no chances come your way your confidence is shot (the same as Howard). We need to play 442, Solano/Nguessan, King, Wellens, Dyer, then up front a big man, with Waghorn playing off him, and Gallagher/Vaughan to come on later in the game. Playing players out of their natural position makes them ineffective.
Fox92 Posted 27 March 2010 Posted 27 March 2010 Was in the executive box today so we tried our best not to sing in the middle of the Derby fans. A few points though; The game was shocking and horrible. Morrison should not be playing full back. McGivern shouldn't have been dropped for a 40 year old. Several players; Oakley, Kermogrant and Brown offer nothing. Why do we pessist on kicking it long? Kermogrant was playing off of Waghorn, which was wrong. And, ohh yes, the goal. A mistake from our goalkeeper, is everyone going to slate him now and call for him to be dropped then? Would have taken a point from Pride Park, but all the preperation that we did was pointless when our goalkeeper does that. He seems to let the ball run across his body though quite often I have noticed because this happened once before (Forest away?) when Weale let it run across his body and under his foot. Dissapointing, we need something from Cardiff and WBA which looks impossible, but then again, we are still in the driving seat.
Fox92 Posted 27 March 2010 Posted 27 March 2010 Ohh, and I do like Robbie Savage. The booing for him is wrong (considering we clap Iain Hume) and although he runs around like a headless chicken,at least he has some passion, which several Leicester players don't have.

I'd take Savage over Oakley anyday!!!
Joe. Posted 27 March 2010 Posted 27 March 2010 Horribly drab game, a draw would have been a fair result. But as it happened it wasn't to be, and a terrible error has cost us another point. The game was poor from start to finish, with only Wellens' strike from distance in the first half worth talking about aside from the goal itself. Aside from that though there was literally nothing from either side until Morrison could have levelled things up at the death. Either side of the goalkeeper from that kind of range and it would have been 1-1 all day long. The system with Kermorgant simply didn't work, and at the moment I'm not sure we do have one that can accommodate him right now. Waghorn was left to feed off of scraps, which as we know is no use to him whatsoever. Dropping Gallagher was ultimately a mistake as our creativity was next to nothing, and putting Dyer deeper back into midfield didn't work. I'd probably say Hobbs is the only one to come away with any credibitility today, another good performance from him. With two tough games coming up this week I'm praying we get something from each and don't screw this up for ourselves. We've got a difficult run-in left for ourselves, but it's entirely in our own hands. I'm not writing us off completely just yet, but we're certainly making it difficult for ourselves.
flanimal Posted 27 March 2010 Posted 27 March 2010 I'm getting sick of the long ball too, it's pathetic. We can do better. I'll let Weale off, he's a quality. Every goalkeeper has a howler. That's his this season (hopefully no more!). I hope they learn from the performance, and realise they need to be competitive. Formation didn't work, and the players were not used effectively. If we compete, we can beat any team in the league, but none of our players seemed up for it, maybe they're tired, who knows.
Dr Sanchez Posted 27 March 2010 Posted 27 March 2010 This is the game where our promotion ends. Cardiff, West Brom, we lose both of them. Blackpool by then overtake us. Face it, we're done. Completely embarassing. Idiot! at the end of the day we're still 4 points clear with a game in hand. We draw a game against cov we should've won and lost a game against reading that could've gone either way, that just the way this division works. I personally think we'll still make the play-offs and even if we don't is it that big a deal? Pearson has turned this club around in the last 2 years and the fact you say that this team is 'embarrassing' after 1 poor performance shows what a cretin you are!!! Personally i'll be right behind the boysuntill the end of the season come what may! Keep the faith!!!!!
fatboy Posted 27 March 2010 Posted 27 March 2010 6th in the league, recently promoted, spending relatively little money. People should be happy post Adams to Holloway. Get behind the team, get behind the players.

Guest Bilo Posted 27 March 2010 Posted 27 March 2010 Glad I didn't pay £30 to watch what sounded fecking atrocious on the radio. As a result, I'm not going to pretend to be an authority on what happened today. I am however, genuninely worried about the week ahead and think there's a chance we'll be out of the play-offs come Easter. This was supposed to be the winnable game of a hard week, yet unless things change we'll probably be running out to play QPR off the back of four straight defeats. There are a number of problems as I see them. PROBLEM: Oakley needs resting or dropping. CURE: Start Spearing on Tuesday. PROBLEM: Kermorgant isn't good enough. CURE: N'Guessan, Waghorn and Gallagher up front on Tuesday. PROBLEM: We really should have brought in an extra left-back in the loan window as were desperately week there when Berner's injured. CURE: Cross everything that he's back for Tuesday as the side looks completely imbalanced without his presence. No other options with a McGivern who clearly isn't up to it and a 40 year old who's retiring.

[/quote cant hold with the fact they can be tired they are proffesionals playing a game they love if they had do a proper job they would no what tired is sorry they have lost the passion at the moment just hope they can get it back for a hard run in hope nigel gives them a rocket up their asses time for nigel to show how good a manager he can be & turn this poor form about the play offs are ours to lose out on the next 2 games are crucial for us to get something out of them i still believe we can make the play offs then who knows what will happen as they seem to be a bit of a lootery
