Derby post match

Well wasn't that shit.

exactly my thoughts.........that has to be one of the most uninspiring football matches i have ever seen <_<

Need a big improvement next game, some desire!

There was no movement off the ball when we were in possession, so everyone just hoofed it. Are we really that fatigued already?

All this talk of not having 'passion' is a load of bollocks. When we win we're 'grateful' for Nige to give us players that play with passion, when we lose, our players don't have any. Knee-jerk? Its a dip in form, every team has one. We'll be back to winning ways, hopefully on Tuesday.

P.s. Please come back Bruno, we don't look the same without him.

Well, Derby were shit but we were somehow worse, just awful.

I can count the amount of times I've lost my rag on one hand and that's not just to do with football, I'm talking ever but Matt Oakley had me absolutely fucking raging today.

If we weren't hoofing it, it was sideways or backward passes. I recall us winning a free kick that should have been launched forwards in the general direction of the Derby box, but ended up back with Weale within three passes. It was embarrassing.

Very poor performance today by the guys.

Not gonna single people out, but as a team we offered very little.

The own goal was comical, karma for the one at Plymouth maybe?

Should have dropped McGivern we're always crap, give away silly goals and lose when he's playing why does Pearson persist with him!

Met these guys in frankie & bennys before the match had a laugh and a couple of pints with them had as I couldn’t get a ticket in the city end ended up sitting in the derby end near them. Tell you what there was only about 10 of them and they didn’t stop singing throughout the game think some of our fans should take a leaf out of their book. As for the idiots booing Oakley when he went off course he is going to clap the derby fans he was their captain and led them to promotion and gave him a good reception before the match. Think these morons need to go and support forest. It wasn’t his fault we just didn’t perform Pearson got the tactics wrong I would say we need to get behind the team in the push for the play offs not abuse them.

I am very disturbed by some of the opinions expressed in the above quote!

Gallagher, 35 yards out, has a pop and sends it straight into a player - from thereonin it was only ever going back to Weale.

Made me wish I hadn't got a functioning radio or internet video stream.

cant hold with the fact they can be tired they are proffesionals playing a game they love if they had do a proper job they would no what tired is

so being professionals and doing something you love makes you immune to fatigue then?

Their fans were toss for most of the game. Bunch of ten year olds.

As for Oakley - I can't see how anyone could defend his actions today.

It's gutting to lose to Derby.

Can be no excuses today. We were shit. Absolutely fucking shit.

Only Waghorn has come out of the game with any credit for me, worked his heart out but never got given a chance.

Weale, dear me what a clanger. I forgive him though as he's been fantastic all season. Shocking error, but he's earnt us a lot more points than he's lost us.

Another frustrating local away game.

Very difficult game to watch, totally devoid of quality action, one team that was not quite as dire as the other adds up to a 1-0 defeat.

POINTS FROM GAME

1) All too many times today a player would receive the ball with absolutely NOTHING happening in front of them, forcing them into more painful periods of 'crab football' . While we may have had a lot of possession, most of it was in areas of the pitch that were never going to cause any problems to Derby and inevitably every attack succumbed to a long hopeful ball from the back four that almost always resulted in loss of possession

2) Although Hobbs is an absolute rock, no one can bring the ball out from the back. this puts the whole team under pressure as the midfield are constantly being bypassed. Brown's ability on the ball is extremely concerning.

3) Waghorn at times is hopelessly exposed and isolated. Kermogant should not be playing. Should make more use of N'guessan on the right and get him in and around waghorn as much as possible. DNG was the one player to have a positive impact on the game today after he came on

4) In talking about the remaining games, underestimate the likes of Peterborough, Watford, QPR and Preston at your peril! there are no easy games in this league and nothing goes to form. We are as capable of taking points off the Cardiff's and West Brom's as these teams and should approach these games in the same manner

People blame the players but they're playing a system they've been told to adopt. If it ain't working, then change it NP.

But NP doesn't change it until it's too late.

Ultimately, tactically we are currently inept.

Really? Strange we are in the play-offs isn't it. Were we tactically inept when going unbeaten for 8 games during February. We played shit. The Championship is so poor which is why teams like Doncaster and Blackpool are so near to the play-offs. Anybody can beat anybody and there is so little to choose between the teams that an offside goal can peg you back, lose to a debatable last minute penalty and lose again to a keeping blunder. Fine lines between 1 point out of 9 and 5 points out of 9 in the last 3 games.. Things will look a whole lot rosier if we beat Cardiff on Tuesday.

To me Oakley was a disgrace today, just plodding off the pitch clapping all the shaggers.Really don't want him as our club captain.Weale i can forgive as he's saved us more points than hes cost us.Crap game.Higlight for me was the Navigation inn.Respect to the young lad behind the bar for putting up with so much abuse :chant: Tom daily i mean you! :scarf:

Crap game, they weren't good at all, we were worse.

Annoying result, because Derby were there for the taking.

I wish I could be optimistic but I think we've blown it. We need a new left back, creative midfielder and fast winger. Jimmy Kebe and Charlie Adam are realistic targets for next season. Get rid of the dead wood I watched today such as Brown, Oakley and Kermo. McGivern, Campbell, Worley also need to go to slash the wage bill and so that we can buy some impact players that we require.

Probably a bit OTT. We should get there by hook or by crook. Today was a major, major setback though

I love Leicester City and I really respect Nigel Pearson's achievements since he became manager as I have said on the 'Thanks Nigel' thread. However, I was extremely puzzled by today's tactics and performance.

If we were in a league where match fixing was the norm, I would say that the match was fixed. I know this is an absolutely stupid thing to say and I know it is not true but a visitor from another football planet might say that Leicester City Football Club threw the match.

First, we started with two ex Derby players and added a third as a substitute to the applause of the home fans. They obviously respected this team selection. One of them, our captain, does not have a good game and when he is substituted he spends a relatively long time applauding the Derby fans, as if his heart remained at Pride Park. Meanwhile, our goalkeeper, under no pressure, concedes an own goal.

Our team adopts the strategy of horizontal and backward passing. The ball is shifted sideways and back to the goalkeeper, thus reducing the possibility of forward play. Everything is done to prevent the ball getting into Derby's box. We even desist from the long ball, although when it is played we do not win it and it immediately comes back again.

The manager who usually spends the whole match in his technical area, encouraging the team, is nowhere to be seen. He has left the match to his assistant and to the players. A rumour, from someone listening to a radio, spreads that he has not turned up. Yet he is glimpsed in the second half but does not, as usual, usher the team of the pitch or applaud the fans at the end. One of the players, Wayne Brown, decides to berate the Leicester fans for their reaction, despite the very positive support at the end and throughout the match - as if we should be grateful for the defeat.

The Derby captain, who did serve us well in his day, is paid back with a win for his team and is allowed to parade across the end with the away fans to clap the Derby supporters in each corner, to the derision of the Leicester fans, providing more ammunition for his career as an anti Leicester TV football pundit.

It would be interesting to know if there were any irregular betting patterns predicting the result.

OK, I am not serious but it did seem as if we were determined to lose.

A strange collection of views... :dunno:

In reality we were mediocre, really, not any worse than a fair number of games this season where we have not played well.

A fook up by Weale aside this was a boring 0-0 that would have left most on this forum happy with an 8 point gap over Blackpool, still with a game in hand. We have played games this season when we have been no better but come away with a point and on some occasions scraped all 3. We have taken that and somehow tried to convince ourselves that we have been playing well, mostly this is simply not true, sometimes we have bullied our way past inferior opposition, sometimes we have been lucky and, yes, on a few occasions we have played pretty well but that has been the exception.

You can not have it both ways, being happy when we are poor yet get a result and then slagging off the team when we lose courtesy of one of our players of the season... :dunno:

We have got to where we are by playing intense, mostly long ball football and by making ourselves difficult to beat. We rarely, if ever, truly dominate games and in these circumstances the result is often little more than a lottery. Somedays the chances fall to us, sometimes, like today they do not, it's not worth getting upset about.

To my mind it is our tactics and approach to the game that limits our performances, the bright aggressive 4-3-3 that blossomed, all too briefly, a few weeks ago has, all to predictably, morphed into a cautious, sterile 4-5-1, so without a strong change of attitude it barely matters who is selected.

Jesus Christ! There were no conspiracies or hidden agendas, we just played shite, thats all!
