PAULCFC Posted 27 March 2010 Posted 27 March 2010 Yes because none of the players care and there all useless, thats why we sit in the play-offs after just coming up from league 1. But yes they dont care ok ok take your point....but Oakley shouldn't be in the first team let alone captain on his recent performances.
PAULCFC Posted 27 March 2010 Posted 27 March 2010 Yes because none of the players care and there all useless, thats why we sit in the play-offs after just coming up from league 1. But yes they dont care ok and i didn't mention waggy, hobbs, gallager, weale or any of the others
Unabomber Posted 27 March 2010 Posted 27 March 2010 ok take your point....but Oakley shouldn't be in the first team let alone captain on his recent performances. Exactly. I am pretty sure Pearson will realize that Spearing has the energy and commitment that we severely lack at the moment; and plays him on Tuesday.
PAULCFC Posted 27 March 2010 Posted 27 March 2010 I believe he is a player that evaluates his own performance and does care about the cause- he's just stuck in a rut right now and is struggling for form. I can see that!I'm sure he'd like to play a bit better, but i can't help feeling that his mind might be more on what happens after football(he's got a wine thing)He just doesn't seem to be a captain!
leicesterseddon Posted 27 March 2010 Posted 27 March 2010 We're not in the league position because of Matt Oakley alone. To be honest, we're in this position despite Matt Oakley. He's been the weak link nearly all season.
caz05 Posted 27 March 2010 Posted 27 March 2010 and i didn't mention waggy, hobbs, gallager, weale or any of the others No you didnt mention them, but whats the betting it will be one of them for the hanging next week
iancognito Posted 27 March 2010 Posted 27 March 2010 Exactly. I am pretty sure Pearson will realize that Spearing has the energy and commitment that we severely lack at the moment; and plays him on Tuesday. So a player who's just arrived (on loan) and will probably be back at his home town club next season will care more? I'm not a fan of Oakley - see my responses in other threads for proof of that - he's been nothing short of garbage for us for most of the season, but Facebook groups are a bit petty IMO. We're not going to get better by having our own fans start up facebook groups against our own captain. Then again, we've got fans who spat at Brian Little, booed O'Neill after a handful of games and seem to have a need to moan about something even when we're winning so it's no great surprise.
Daggers Posted 27 March 2010 Posted 27 March 2010 My views on Oakley in this simple link... My views on your Facebook group in this simple link
PAULCFC Posted 27 March 2010 Posted 27 March 2010 No you didnt mention them, but whats the betting it will be one of them for the hanging next week Hey,i stuck up for ryan mcgiven against cov,so i'm not going to moan about nothing!
PAULCFC Posted 27 March 2010 Posted 27 March 2010 If Oakley had played even vaguely competently, I wouldn't have a problem. But he didn't, so I do. Can i use that as my sig.?
PAULCFC Posted 27 March 2010 Posted 27 March 2010 No you didnt mention them, but whats the betting it will be one of them for the hanging next week might be from you ,but not me
marbelladave Posted 27 March 2010 Posted 27 March 2010 Why all the hate, just because McGivern wasn't playing... In my view Oakley was no worse than maybe half a dozen of our players, stuck out on the right he got forward quite well first half and was solid enough until his legs gave in. It was hardly his fault that we went a goal down, that our shape was awful and our center midfield was ineffective. We were reduced to playing the ball over the top as our only form of attack well before half time and both he and Dyer were largely ignored, again none of this his fault. He was not particularly good but there was an awful lot wrong with our performance that had nothing to do with Oakley...
caz05 Posted 27 March 2010 Posted 27 March 2010 might be from you ,but not me Not from me mate,i am quite happy with what the team and management have done
PAULCFC Posted 27 March 2010 Posted 27 March 2010 Not from me mate,i am quite happy with what the team and management have done Me too, just think the captains a bit crap
lcfcpaul Posted 28 March 2010 Posted 28 March 2010 was it just me or did matt oakley clap all 3 sides of the ground before he remembered he played for leicester and then clapped the away support. totally out of order and disrespecful to the city fans he should have at least clapped us first - willy puller
Unabomber Posted 28 March 2010 Posted 28 March 2010 ah man you don't even know what you have just started.
AoWW Posted 28 March 2010 Posted 28 March 2010 was it just me or did matt oakley clap all 3 sides of the ground before he remembered he played for leicester and then clapped the away support. totally out of order and disrespecful to the city fans he should have at least clapped us first - willy puller Grrrrrrr.

PAULCFC Posted 28 March 2010 Posted 28 March 2010 I was there today and Matt Oakley definately gave lots of claps towards the Derby supporters before us.......but in the great scheme of things it means we need a new captain.....hobbs.....drop Oakley and Brown and let's beet Cardiff
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 28 March 2010 Posted 28 March 2010 I was there today and Matt Oakley definately gave lots of claps towards the Derby supporters before us.......but in the great scheme of things it means we need a new captain.....hobbs.....drop Oakley and Brown and let's beet Cardiff Great idea. Lets drop 2 of the most experienced members of the squad during the run-in to the end of the season where we have a chance of the play-offs. Get a grip man!!
Guest Posted 28 March 2010 Posted 28 March 2010 What because he showed his appreciation to a set of fans of the team he used to play for,so when Hume came to the walkers and we all clapped him and he did us, that was ok then. Sorry but i think its rather sad in my opinion If you read the more sensible comments, people don't have a problem with him clapping his former club per se, just with the sycophantic round of applause before a cursory clap towards his current fans. On top of that, it was the fact he took his time in doing that and leaving the pitch in a game we were behind in, with the clock running out.
Tricky_Garibaldi_NFFC Posted 28 March 2010 Posted 28 March 2010 This thread is cracking me up. Fans wanting to break their own players legs, booing their captain for returning the good reception he got from a former team... You lot are even bigger moaners than some at the City Ground I know. Let's hope the good vibes at being in the play-offs continue to a NFFC v LCFC Wembley final...
