SOCCERROO FOX Posted 18 March 2011 Posted 18 March 2011 Your sig quite worries me too. I worry me too some times
MikeyT Posted 18 March 2011 Posted 18 March 2011 I worry me too some times Think it's the "little boy" part that worries me and the fact you have your eye on a 13 year old girl....albeit for when she turns 18.
General Smuts Posted 18 March 2011 Posted 18 March 2011 The world has gone to shit. What is that manly Justin Bieber thing? Im ashamed for Friday. It's just managed to get itself downgraded as a day of the week.
Kenners Posted 18 March 2011 Posted 18 March 2011 On a serious note, Alex Turner has written some very good lyrics. Genius, maybe not, but very relevant and witty especially for people of my generation. A certain romance springs to mind. What a song.
Haydos Posted 19 March 2011 Posted 19 March 2011 On a serious note, Alex Turner has written some very good lyrics. Genius, maybe not, but very relevant and witty especially for people of my generation. A certain romance springs to mind. What a song. A certain romance and from the ritz to the rubble Brilliant contemporary album. Lyrically different and intelligent compared to some of the generic indie that gets churned out nowadays.
samlcfc Posted 21 March 2011 Posted 21 March 2011 "Yesterday was Thursday, Today it is Friday" God like lyricism right there , literally hard stretched to thing of a song worse that that

Rocket-Ron Posted 21 March 2011 Posted 21 March 2011 Is it that good it needs to be posted in here twice? Whoops
Finnegan Posted 25 March 2011 Author Posted 25 March 2011 Well. Given this thread has descended in to farce, I may as well let it do so with some quality!
Parafox Posted 6 April 2011 Posted 6 April 2011 Yesterday All my troubles seemed so far away, Now it looks as though they're here to stay, Oh, I believe in yesterday. Suddenly, I'm not half the man I used to be, There's a shadow hanging over me, Oh, yesterday came suddenly. Why she Had to go I don't know, she wouldn't say. I said, Something wrong, now I long for yesterday. Yesterday, Love was such an easy game to play, Now I need a place to hide away, Oh, I believe in yesterday. Why she Had to go I don't know, she wouldn't say. I said, Something wrong, now I long for yesterday. Yesterday, Love was such an easy game to play, Now I need a place to hide away, Oh, I believe in yesterday _________________ Simple but effective
Parafox Posted 6 April 2011 Posted 6 April 2011 Have you seen the old man In the closed down market Kicking up the papers, with his worn out shoes? In his eyes you see no pride Hands held loosely at his side Yesterday's paper telling yesterday's news Chorus: So how can you tell me you're lonely, and say for you that the sun don't shine, Let me take you by the hand and lead you through the streets of London I'll show you something to make you change your mind. Have you seen the old girl Who walks the streets of London Dirt in her hair and her clothes in rags She's no time for talking she just keeps right on walking Carrying her home in two carrier bags. Chorus In the all night cafe At a quarter past eleven, Same old man sitting there on his own Looking at the world Over the rim of his tea-cup, each tea lasts an hour, And he wanders home alone Chorus Have you seen the old man Outside the Seamen's Mission Memory fading with the medal ribbons that he wears In our winter city The rain cries a little pity For one more forgotten hero And a world that doesn't care
ajthefox Posted 6 April 2011 Posted 6 April 2011 not a masterpiece but anyone my age who ever got into all the emo/pop punk/rock that came from the states should know this off by heart... *bits in bold are sung over the top Your Lipstick, his collar Don't bother angel I know exactly what goes on When everything you'll get is, everything that you wanted princess Well which would you prefer? my finger on the trigger or me face down down across your floor me face down down across your floor me face down down across your floor just so long as this things loaded.. and will tell you all your friends you've got your gun to my head? this all was only wishful thinking and will tell you all your friends you've got your gun to my head? this all was only wishful thinking let's go Don't bother trying to explain angel, I know exactly what goes on when you're on and how about I'm outside of your window how about I'm outside of your window punch it in, keep the details covered You're such a sucker, you're such a sucker... and will tell you all your friends you've got your gun to my head? this all was only wishful thinking this all was only wishful thinking (the only thing that I regret is that I never let you hold me back) and will tell you all your friends you've got your gun to my head? this all was only wishful thinking this all was only wishful thinking Hoping for the best just hoping nothing happens A thousand clever lines unread on clever napkins I won't ever ask if you don't ever tell me I know you well enough to know you never loved me (why can't I feel any different, anyone other than you) Hoping for the best just hoping nothing happens A thousand clever lines unread on clever napkins I won't ever ask if you don't ever tell me I know you well enough to know you never loved me (why can't I feel any different, anyone other than you) Hoping for the best just hoping nothing happens A thousand clever lines unread on clever napkins I won't ever ask if you don't ever tell me I know you well enough to know And all of this was all your fault and all of this.. I stay wrecked and jealous for this, for this simple reason I just need to keep you in mind as something larger than life I stay wrecked and jealous for this, for this simple reason I just need to keep you in mind as something larger than life I stay wrecked and jealous for this, for this simple reason I just need to keep you in mind as something larger than life
ajthefox Posted 6 April 2011 Posted 6 April 2011 It's definitely the song that defines TBS for me. Think about 90% of my A2 year group at college knew this word for word
ajthefox Posted 6 April 2011 Posted 6 April 2011 Agreed. I Love Where you want to be but I don't think it has a stand out song, just a fair few very good ones. oh and New Again is decent too but not really on the same level as the others for me.
