That may reduce me to tears.

The Howard hat-trick, that is.

None of us saw it coming against west brom that time... hmmm

Single To Win S Howard @ 90/1

To Score a Hat-Trick

Cardiff v Leicester Pending £3

Why not.

edit: just thought that i'm quite glad that nobody apart from cardiff or city fans will be watching this, so even if we do lose hopefully we wont be getting a ribbing for the next 6 months from other clubs. Every single other fan will be watching fulham.

I can't see Cardiff not scoring. The amount of fire-power they have up front is lethal. They have enough lads in that team who knows where the back of the net is.

I can't see us going to Wembley, sadly. Damage was done yesterday.

and yet they only hit the target twice in the first leg....

i think the one thing we can be absolutely positively certain about is that mcphail and bothroyd will spend very great portions of this game flying theatrically through the air and rolling in the most severe agony

Well, its do or die now.

Leicester have to go away to a championship powerhouse and beat them in their own back yard.

YES the boys need to show a real positive intent on wednesday, and we need goals, nothing else will do.

Pearson has a difficult dilemma

He cant go for it from minute 1 in terms of risking what we do at the back. 1-0 is just about retrieveable, but going 2-0 and having to score 3 would be a bridge too far i would say. So although many are calling for the likes of N'guessan to come in, i wouldnt be surprised if the main objective initially was 20-30 minutes of pragmatic attacking play, and above all, at all costs, A CLEAN SHEET.

4-4-2 i think is necessary. i think the 4-5-1/ 4-3-3- will invite too much possession to cardiff (but then again you could easily say they could play on the break in a 442).

Id possibly opt for Kermogant over Howard for a couple of reasons. I like his extra mobility and his willingness to track back, plus i think he is more likely to create something than howard by finding space between the midfield and defense, which i dont think howard does.

I do definitely think this game has plenty of twists and turns left in it yet.

For me, the game will go to extra time.

where it will go after that, who knows

COME ON LEICESTER

I'm very scared of this Cardiff 'hell-hole' that Dave Jones keeps talking about, I thought he got cleared of all that business?

what pub are people going too thats away freindly?

The Landsdown on Landsdown road is an Away Pub / Hotel kind of place. We'll be meeting there!

If we start the game in the style we finished the first leg we are in with a great chance. We can't afford to piss about for very long and need to get right at them pretty sharpish. I'm quite confident and think it's still 50/50 who goes through to the final cos if the lads play at their best I can't see why they can't get a result.

3rd time lucky at Cardiff this season hopefully :fc:

Yeah straight at them

3 attackers from the word go.

It's not the first goal in the game that's crucial it's the second.

1:1 still puts us only a goal down, 2:0 puts us up and in the driving seat.

this is an interesting element to the selection...

howard was on form up to the sending off, and will want to prove that wasn't just a fluke, however will he come in sluggish and off the pace having missed 3 games?

kermorgant finally got his 1st goal and looked ok coming on, NP is obviously comfortable with having him in the team.

personally, i would keep gallagher as it might reduce our propensity to hoof the ball to whichever big man gets the nod, and cardiff have proven that they can defend aerially very well, on the ground not so much

I had a VERY vivid dream that we won 3-0 last night..

Shame we're not playing until Wednesday thentongue.png

All we have to do is win a game of football... whether it's 1-0, 2-1, 3-2 doesn't matter we win and it's a lottery of pennos. The wind would be in our sales and they are under the pressure after having thrown away a first leg lead. Would be lovely to win by the two clear goals, but we need to focus on just winning and forget that.

Haha. I'll rephrase. I had a VERY vivid dream last night, that we win 3-0 on Wednesday! ;)

Howard Webb reffing the match.

Supposedly the best we have, I'm not so sure...

Oh dear noting is going to go our way again tomorrow then. These big time ref's are always looking for attention. unfortunately.

I had a dream about the game last night, too... we were down 3-0 on aggregate before scoring three goals in stoppage time to send it into extra time... Then I think we won 7-6! Don't read too much into it, though: the third goal was a 35-yard screamer from Kermorgant and I'm pretty sure Matt Elliott got on the scoresheet at some point.

It'll be 2-2 on aggregate after 119 minutes.

Nigel Pearson looks through his copy of the 125 Yr history book and decides to repeat history, gets on Ebay and buys a pair of stilts. Throws them at Conrad Logan and gives him a lovely black and green retro shirt.

The 4th official board goes up; Number 1 for number 13... Its now or never.

Gypo Gypes heads the ball out after a beautifully executed corner by Martyn Waghorn from the right side.

Howard hits it... It hits, not his shin, but his knee. It loops over the defence, catches Marshall off his line and lobs him cleanly for one of the best goals you will ever see recorded on Sky Sports.

We all then go singing and dancing all night untill we realise we have to be up by 7...

If Carlsberg did Play offs...

Think the first 20 mins are so key in this game, if we can nick a goal in the first 20, i think we will have a good chance, the later it gets the worse its gna be, at the end of the day its 1 goal, they just need to relax and do what they've been doing all season and hopefully we can come out on top.

Ridiculous - this would be suicide. To go all out attack straight from the off, away from home against a team with pace and attack minded players all over who are also great on the counter would be stupid - there is no way Pearson will adopt this tactic!

4-4-2 seems the best option with someone partnering Waghorn who can hold the ball up and knock balls onto him, Howard, Kermo or Vaughan (if fit) could fill this role. I think someone mentioned earlier in the thread that a clean sheet is the first priority - apart from Sunday goals have been coming and will continue to if we play to the best of our ability, starting at the back. Waghorn was definitely isolated in the 1st leg, if we free him up by partnering him with a target man, I'm confident we'll score. Sceptics will say that the reserved tactics cost us in the 1st leg and yes, we shouldn't have played 1 up front and it didn't work. Away from home however is a different story. We only need a goal to get them nervous and then it's anyones game! It doesn't matter when we score.

Keep the faith Fvcking come on City!!!!!

Can't WAIT for this game!

Can see this being a very cagey affair. Neither team will want to concede but both need that first goal! Can see it being a midfield battle that we will have to be at our best to win!

A Moment of magic will win it. >_<

Posted

Calm down, calm down! We can beat these guys. Our defence can cope with everything they throw at us. With Howard on we can have someone to win the headers. Some pace on the wings hoofing in crosses and we can get a goal. Midfield is the problem. I think the reason we lost, or rather failed to score, last time was because we were outplayed in the midfield and created nothing within it.

It's one goal.

Come on you Heroes In Blue & White, we can do this and have an almighty trip to Wembley, Anybody going to a specific pub in South Leicestershire???

One thing that Leicester have is HEART. We belong in the top tier! We believe, the players believe and the fans have to get behind them and believe too!

It's going to be a very very tough game. But all we need is ONE goal and it's even. We're a better side than Cardiff and grabbing that one goal will shake them around. However, I reckon if we don't score by half time then it could be well over as i'm sure their gameplan for the final 45 will be to just sit back.

First half, one goal... GAME ON!

COME ON LEICESTER!
