Wdywd Posted 24 July 2010 Posted 24 July 2010 I'm not panicking, but our squad is tiny, we have to start bringing some players in. The season is two weeks away, and we've got in Kennedy, Vitor and Crncic. Clearly the squad needs a right back, a striker and at least one winger now that Gallagher's injured (we probably needed one before that anyway). I appreciate the window is open for another 3 weeks after the first game, but there are 5 or 6 games in August, so we want to get our business done as soon as possible.
Guest Posted 24 July 2010 Posted 24 July 2010 I agree there's some places that probably need strengthening but signing just 'anyone' for the sake of it isn't the way to go
FrankieADZ Posted 24 July 2010 Posted 24 July 2010 what bout Liam Rosenior to fill the right back void, 24 years old and is a free,
fatboy Posted 24 July 2010 Posted 24 July 2010 Hes off to PSG in France. EDIT - or not. Hes following Kermit to some lower french side. Kermorgant has gone to a French top flight team
BENTHEBLUE Posted 24 July 2010 Posted 24 July 2010 Liam Rosenior 24- Every time i have seen him play i feel sorry for the oppostions full back. still young and a very good player. Stephen Caldwell 29 - Not the best but a wise head who reads the game. Etienne Esajas 25- Very much a confidence player but when he is confident looks excellent Jeremie Aliadiere 27 -Has been unlucky in not finding the team for him.. potential to get 25+ a season Marlon Harewood 30 guaranteed goals at this level Ricardo Vas Te 23 Still Raw talent but fast and good on his day. Darius Vassell 30 Similar opinion to marlon harewood All of these are available on a free ?(as long as they havent moved to clubs recently) In the cases of rosenior, esajas, aliadere, vas te the wages wouldnt be too high. THOUGHTS>? ,
gh09lcfc Posted 24 July 2010 Posted 24 July 2010 A Right-back, another centre-back a midfielder or two, and a striker apart from Crncic. Seamus Coleman, Liam Rosenior, Kerrea Gilbert, Jay Demerit, Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, Robert Koren, Salif Diao, Jeremie Aliadaire or Jay Simpson. Three of them will do fine
Guest Posted 24 July 2010 Posted 24 July 2010 Why do some people on here have such a thing for Aliadiere?
goal-mangal Posted 24 July 2010 Posted 24 July 2010 Aliadiere, is probably the most overrated player ever. Can't score goals and can't do anything else. I would rather keep Dj, than buy Aliaidiere. - Goal -
Wdywd Posted 25 July 2010 Posted 25 July 2010 I'm not convinced Gilbert's good enough for a top half Championship team anyway, he was no more than solid in League 1. Vassell is total shit, and Harewood isn't much better.

SMX11 Posted 26 July 2010 Posted 26 July 2010 Bradley Orr is set to leave Bristol City. Right back, good pedigree, is this Leicester City and Sousa?? I hope so Edit: Just looked on BBC 606, it seems as if QPR are the mentioned team. Never mind <_<
Jon the Hat Posted 26 July 2010 Posted 26 July 2010 That Raul is on his way to either the England or Germany....
Bettsj2 Posted 26 July 2010 Posted 26 July 2010 This is so fooking frustrating. Rumours of Buzacky combined with takeover talk got us all excited at the prospect of us buying some real quality. Now we're talking about maybe being interested in Bradley Orr. WORTH IT
dandannieldanok Posted 27 July 2010 Posted 27 July 2010 anybody for KING Good player but I rather we didn't.
sdb Posted 27 July 2010 Posted 27 July 2010 i'm sure it'll have been mentioned here but surely Steve Finnan would be more than adequate for a season? For me, a right back, right mid and centre mid (Spearing again?) are all needed. Another striker is also pretty important.
Sooper Steve's shin Posted 27 July 2010 Posted 27 July 2010 Why do some people on here have such a thing for Aliadiere? He was great on Football Manager.....

I agree with you on what we need though, the season is what, 10 days away now? and we still need 4 players. Wish we'd get a move on.

According to you we need 4 players, none of us know what Sousa is looking for and in what position.
foxoffderby Posted 28 July 2010 Posted 28 July 2010 I would love to see George Boyd from Peterbourgh. Goal scoring midfield player was also club captain. Heavily linked with Forest. He's Quality.
