milan_foxes Posted 26 June 2010 Posted 26 June 2010 Leicester City's head of recruitment Steve Walsh has revealed the club are in talks with two potential new signings. Both players are free agents but Walsh would not reveal their identities for fear of alerting other clubs. "I am negotiating at the moment with one or two and I would like to think they can come in and strengthen the squad," said Walsh, who hinted at more comings and goings at the Walkers Stadium this summer. "You have to think of it like a jigsaw puzzle, as some players come in others will go. We are looking and do have the net out but it is really important that what we have got working on we keep quiet because, if you don't, you can miss what you are trying to achieve. "It is important we keep the information in-house as much as possible." Left-back Tom Kennedy - a free transfer from Rochdale - is the only new arrival at Leicester so far this summer. http://www.teamtalk.com/leicester-city/6218205/Foxes-close-in-on-double-swoop
Daveaway Posted 27 June 2010 Posted 27 June 2010 Don't think there be any signings for some considerable time, if any now. The new manager will come in with little to spend I think MM will say get on with what you have got. I would like to think that the new manager would look at DJ and get him scoring for fun as he did at Blackpool. It would be sweet justice if he goes and scores three against Hull. Fryatt and DJ up front can't be bad. If Pearson thinks he will achieve more at Hull if he goes, then what ever he is drinking, I must get my hands on some.
Liamlcfc1 Posted 27 June 2010 Posted 27 June 2010 Just heard from a very good source this evening Harewood is going to sign for an American club. Who was that HP
Asherz Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 Tshabalala . On 27 June 2010 Kaizer Chiefs F.C. released the South African international attacking midfielder by request. would be worth a punt... not like he is goning to be after mega bucks after coming from s.a league
The Doctor Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 Tshabalala . On 27 June 2010 Kaizer Chiefs F.C. released the South African international attacking midfielder by request. would be worth a punt... not like he is goning to be after mega bucks after coming from s.a league if he's been released by his own request i would think he's been under offer but the two clubs aren't capable of agreeing a transfer fee and he wants to go to this new club so he's requested he be allowed to leave.
Guest DavidJCW Posted 30 June 2010 Posted 30 June 2010 Tshabalala... hmm... he'd certainly play with passion, determination, attacking flair and courage. Apart from the wonder goal against Mexico, he never really did much at the World Cup... still, I wouldn't complain if we did sign him! Shame he's off to a new club then.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 2 July 2010 Posted 2 July 2010 Pim Balkestein is out of contract, I know he's nothing special, but would be better cover at centre back than Bruce in my opinion. *EDIT - WILFRED BOUMA IS A FREE AGENT?!
Unabomber Posted 2 July 2010 Posted 2 July 2010 Pim Balkestein is out of contract, I know he's nothing special, but would be better cover at centre back than Bruce in my opinion. *EDIT - WILFRED BOUMA IS A FREE AGENT?! I couldn't believe that about Bouma, Villa fans used to really rate him before his injury.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 2 July 2010 Posted 2 July 2010 I'd be disappointed if we weren't looking at him.
Guest Bilo Posted 4 July 2010 Posted 4 July 2010 Robert Koren would fit in well with a more passing ethos at the club after his time at West Brom, good cultured player who looks excellent at this level. As a free agent, he wouldn't even require a fee.
Bettsj2 Posted 5 July 2010 Posted 5 July 2010 Aaron Mokoena was in Leicester on Friday night. Doesnt neccesarily mean he's signing for us but could be something in it.
Guest ttfn Posted 5 July 2010 Posted 5 July 2010 If we were to sign one player from South Africa I'd like us to sign Katlego Mphela. Quick and has a rocket shot. Grabbed a couple of goals and had a scorcher ruled out for offside.
Leicfox Posted 6 July 2010 Posted 6 July 2010 I like us to hijack Doncaster's approach/bid for Sheff Utd's Billy Sharp
martyn Posted 6 July 2010 Posted 6 July 2010 Wouldn't mind a cheeky bid for Angel Rangel, if we could get DJ off the books it would make decent signings a much more realistic prospect.
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 6 July 2010 Posted 6 July 2010 To be fair, wouldn't mind David Cotterill from the Swans. Plus, a cheeky loan bid for somebody like Rob Hulse or David Healy wouldn't be that bad.
Edwards-lcfcfan Posted 6 July 2010 Posted 6 July 2010 Some one like a Dj campbell but better, and more pace, nathan tyson? right back- try and get gilbert on loan?
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 6 July 2010 Posted 6 July 2010 Just heard weve signed Chaplow on a free. Could be bull ?
Ozwin Posted 6 July 2010 Posted 6 July 2010 Just heard weve signed Chaplow on a free. Could be bull ? PLEASE be true! I've been saying we should get him all summer!
Ozwin Posted 6 July 2010 Posted 6 July 2010 Just found this: http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11688_6242006,00.html Swansea were after him but Sousa coming here changes things. Seems plausible.
nickelbyfox Posted 6 July 2010 Posted 6 July 2010 Gilbert could be a good shout read he was released by Arsenal, could sign him on a free, not sure about compensation 5 Released by gunners What about Hugo Colace, maybe get him on a free from Barnsley and hijack him from Swansea

Seems plausible. Pretty sure that move is down the drain now Sousa's moved. Pretty sure theres some truth as he was Sousa's target.
