maddog Posted 14 May 2010 Posted 14 May 2010 Theres so many Dj Campbell topics on the search. Is anyone up for keeping him next season, because i am. Now we've lost Waghorn and Vaughan, Howard won't be able to play at a high level week in week out, he's a impact bench player with some starts, Kermo may leave after his pen miss or struggle if he's hated by fans, who knows NP may hold a grudge. Gallagher isn't a natural striker, and has mainly played on the wing. So Dj is another great option, surely we have forgiven him for his comments now, our hate has moved to Kermo, and that hat trick he scored was awesome. Keep.
C-man Posted 14 May 2010 Posted 14 May 2010 How many times, he doesn't want to be here. If an offer comes in, he goes. Simple as.

Sometimes I wish I could understand your type of humour. DJ Campbell to score against Cardiff - what are the odds? Then we sell him to the highest bidder and use the money in return to strengthen our overall squad - £5m gets you three, four decent players.

Ozwin Posted 14 May 2010 Posted 14 May 2010 How many times, he doesn't want to be here. If an offer comes in, he goes. Simple as. That. I'd rather have a passionate Elvis Hammond here than a DJ Campbell who doesn't give a shit.
AndyBrew Posted 14 May 2010 Posted 14 May 2010 still don't rate him, the three he scored were unmissable and the 2 he cocked up were more akin to his normal offerings get rid I say

Then we sell him to the highest bidder and use the money in return to strengthen our overall squad - £5m gets you three, four decent players. We'll never sell him for £5M. We don't want him, he doesn't want to come back, he's got one year on his contract left. £1M if we're lucky.
Bert Posted 14 May 2010 Posted 14 May 2010 The chemistry is just not right, get over it. He'll be out next season, whether it be on loan or permanent and then his contract's up. Waghorn still might come back and if Vaughan's not in Everton's plans, there's a big chance he'll be back here next season. IN NIGE WE TRUST.
CKB Posted 14 May 2010 Posted 14 May 2010 He don't wanna be at this football club and we don't want him here! End.of.story!
Koke Posted 14 May 2010 Posted 14 May 2010 Just cut our losses and move on. Sell him for 75p and a packet of crisps to whoever wants to snap him up. I'm fucking fed up with this guy and his never ending saga.
Salieri Posted 14 May 2010 Posted 14 May 2010 So Dj is another great option, surely we have forgiven him for his comments now, our hate has moved to Kermo, and that hat trick he scored was awesome. That comment just about sums you up. Fickle as.
CKB Posted 14 May 2010 Posted 14 May 2010 Sell him for 75p and a packet of crisps to whoever wants to snap him up. You would be a rubbish negotiator, you would have to drop the 75p fee!
The Doctor Posted 15 May 2010 Posted 15 May 2010 why keep him? The only thing he's done of note for us is score against Chelsea in the LC a couple of years back. Don't forget pearson gave him a second chance early this season and how did he respond? by missing a good chance to win it @ cov, missing a one-on-one @ reading then buggering off to direby then blackpool
Corky Posted 15 May 2010 Posted 15 May 2010 He doesn't fit in here, for whatever reason. He's not going to any time soon, I hope we can get a decent price and use the money to bring in a replacement, one of the loanees permanently if possible.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 15 May 2010 Posted 15 May 2010 I say, KEEP him. He has shown that he does have the skill and quality. His hat trick was sensational, and his form has been superb for Blackpool. Time to forgive, I think.

okie fox Posted 15 May 2010 Posted 15 May 2010 It doesn't matter if the fans forgive him or hate him, he won't play for City. The club could have kept him here after Christmas, but chose not to. Why would they change their mind next season? There has to be a problem with his attitude towards City or a problem with additional payments to Birmingham if he plays more games or a problem with him being on higher wages than anyone else.

I think it's ok to let him go. The reason for him not being a success here is the same reason for him not being a success at Birmingham and that is, big crowd, big stadium, big expectation = no pressure. At Blackpool, not only do they not have the big crowd or stadium, they have absolutely no expectations. He can flourish in that environment. Dont forget that the manager he's doing so well for at Blackpool also had him at Leicester but true to form, got nothing out of him here. Sometimes some players just dont work. Personally i'd like Vaughan on a season long loan. Waghorn wont be coming back but I think Vaughan has the potential to be just as good. I am getting tired of the DJ debates but I suppose they'll keep running until we finally get rid for good.
Koke Posted 15 May 2010 Posted 15 May 2010 If James Vaughan wasn't so injury prone, he could destroy this league. I would like to have him here next season. DJ can get fucked.
Sylvie85 Posted 15 May 2010 Posted 15 May 2010 No place for him at city, will be hoping we can get a bit of money for him due to his form but i feel his attitude and his police problems may make us decrease our own valuaition of him. As far as i'm concerned let him fook off, arrogant willy puller.
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 15 May 2010 Posted 15 May 2010 Never liked the guy but he has done well and now that Kermo is hated, Waghorn's going, Howard won't play every week, Gallagher aint a striker, give him 10 games. If he can get anywhere near the form he has shown at Blackpool, alongside Vaughan they could be a quality partnership.
poopbutt Posted 26 May 2010 Posted 26 May 2010 DJ seeks Seasiders switch http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11688_6172225,00.html DJ Campbell is hoping Leicester City will not stand his way as he looks to secure a dream move to Blackpool. The 28-year-old frontman ended the season on loan at Bloomfield Road, playing an integral role in a fairytale finish for the club. He plundered 11 goals in 18 outings for the Seasiders, including a hat-trick in a play-off semi-final second leg against Nottingham Forest which took the club to Wembley. Campbell was again handed a starting berth by Ian Holloway for Saturday's final with Cardiff City and played his part in securing a memorable 3-2 win. With Blackpool now preparing for life in the Premier League, and with Leicester having suffered play-off heartache in the other semi against Cardiff, Campbell is understandably keen to return to the North West. Having been out of favour with the Foxes before heading out on loan in February, he has called on his parent club to do the right thing and allow him a shot at the big time. "What happens next? I can't answer that yet but I had a little word with the gaffer after Saturday's game and he wants to sign me. I want to come so it is just a case of hoping Leicester don't do something silly," Campbell told the Leicester Mercury. "But everyone in Blackpool knows how much I love the club - I wouldn't have come back otherwise. We'll see what happens during the summer but I have been so happy to be at Blackpool during the second half of the season. I love the club. I love everybody, all the players and the gaffer. "I am speechless and just delighted for everyone that we've actually managed to win promotion. But we've deserved it I think. The last 12 games we have been on such a great run and we showed again on Saturday that we deserve to be where we are. I am delighted." Leicester had also loaned Campbell to Blackpool for the second half of the 2008/09 season, when he scored nine league goals in 20 appearances. the brass neck of this guy...astounding
Guest Posted 26 May 2010 Posted 26 May 2010 Isn't there enough threads about this tw@? This is the same obvious 'story' that's was in the merc and is being discussed in the other thread
