Guest Bilo Posted 23 June 2010 Posted 23 June 2010 Australia 0 Serbia 2 Ghana 1 Germany 1 Would put Serbia top and set up a meeting with England, Ghana would head to Rustenburg and Germany would head to Schönefeld International. Lovely.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 23 June 2010 Posted 23 June 2010 Come on Ghana! Really dont want to face the Germans.
Webbo Posted 23 June 2010 Posted 23 June 2010 I'd like the Aussies to qualify.. Probably not that likely though.
Koke Posted 23 June 2010 Posted 23 June 2010 Ghana Please. They are a very ordinary side. Even Serbia is better than Ghana. Hope England avoid Germany and Serbia.
Joe. Posted 23 June 2010 Posted 23 June 2010 FInishing second in this group is a far more attractive proposition than topping it. A second placed finish sees a draw with USA and then either Uruguay or South Korea, whereas winning it sets up a match against ourselves followed potentially by Argentina...

True, but due to the nature of the group, none of the teams can afford to take it easy and 'play for second place' for risk of being eliminated altogether. Should be a very interesting evening.
Dames Posted 23 June 2010 Posted 23 June 2010 Not getting Germany would make the wait to Sunday and Sunday itself slightly more bearable.
davieG Posted 23 June 2010 Author Posted 23 June 2010 Can anyone get the ITV player to work for the Serbia game?
BoneDog Posted 23 June 2010 Posted 23 June 2010 I'm loving this. 2 tv's on in one room Serbia have looked dangerous from what I've seen of that one so far. And Ghana Germany have both had great chances to take the lead. Such a shame that Essien isn't there for Ghana.
BoneDog Posted 23 June 2010 Posted 23 June 2010 Have these stadiums been built just for the World Cup?
davieG Posted 23 June 2010 Author Posted 23 June 2010 Have these stadiums been built just for the World Cup? I think they were built by the same people that built the pyramids.
Guest Bilo Posted 23 June 2010 Posted 23 June 2010 Have these stadiums been built just for the World Cup? I think a lot of them are used for rugby as well, with that being arguably the bigger sport in South Africa.
Guest Bilo Posted 23 June 2010 Posted 23 June 2010 God knows how this game is still 0-0. Both teams look dangerous but I've seen little an on-form England should be unduly afraid of. They're both a bit shaky at the back in spite of their attacking prowess. I'd rather not meet Germany though, they always seem to get the rub of the green and have that winning mentality to edge close games.
Fox You Forest Posted 23 June 2010 Posted 23 June 2010 I saw a show on National Geographic last week showing you the construction of three of them, Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg. Actually one of them was an existing ground but was totally gutted and rebuilt, one they built over a golf course and the oldie members were far from happy.
Fox You Forest Posted 23 June 2010 Posted 23 June 2010 Good goal, surprised he has't fell over after he hit it though, seems to love rolling round on the floor.

Ah, I just wondered cos I know nothing of sport in South Africa and i wondered if they had many big sporting events over there regular. Ghana have their work cut out now to get back into this one. And a great chance for the Aussies just.
BoneDog Posted 23 June 2010 Posted 23 June 2010 Ohhhh ya pisser, great defending though. Love the replay of the goal, he kept his eye on the ball and hit it with perfection.
