Tilley Posted 27 June 2010 Posted 27 June 2010 Apparently in the press conference Capello said that he knows his 10, and their may be one change. Only one i can think of is King in Probably. Or maybe Joe Cole in and use a 5 man midfield, not going to be able to go as attacking as we did against Slovenia and possession will be key. We can't let Ozil and Schweinsteiger have time on the ball. As harsh as it would be, I wouldn't complain if Joe Cole came in for Defoe and Defoe came off the bench should we need him.
marbelladave Posted 27 June 2010 Posted 27 June 2010 I imagine Capello will go with an unchanged side, would he really risk King at this stage? Anyway I doubt it matters much, this game will be mostly played in the mind. If England get their attitude right, a moderate German side is eminently beatable, but if we play as we have been so far in the Tounament it's the next plane home. All in all, I am hoping for a decent game and that the result is a fair one, ie decided on football matters not some poxy diver or cheat (on either side) or most likely crap refereeing. Given the poor standard of refereeing after the first two or three games I am not actually hopeful...
MC Prussian Posted 27 June 2010 Posted 27 June 2010 Ozil and Schweinsteiger are both doubtful. Bastian's got a strained thigh and Mesut's having to cope with the death of a dear family member.
Tilley Posted 27 June 2010 Posted 27 June 2010 Ozil and Schweinsteiger are both doubtful. Bastian's got a strained thigh and Mesut's having to cope with the death of a dear family member. Schweinsteiger trained yesterday and is expected to start according to Sky Sports News, haven't heard anything about Ozil losing a member of his family?
BlueSi13 Posted 27 June 2010 Posted 27 June 2010 A close tense 1-1 with someone nicking it in extra time..... C'MON ENGLAND!!!
The Doctor Posted 27 June 2010 Posted 27 June 2010 3-1 germany a.e.t England take an early lead through Lampard, the germans fight back but can't quite break them down until the last minute of stoppage time when a klose header is handled on the line by johnson, Klose takes the penalty after podolski's miss and slides the ball into the bottom corner with james going the wrong way. Extra time starts in a frantic fashion with Schwienstiger curling one home from 40 yards, england push men fowards and have three attempts cleared off the line, have a perfectly good goal disallowed and have rooney sent off for simulation when replays show it was a terrible foul and should have been a penalty. England continue to press but are caught on the break 2 minutes from the end with Klose grabbing a second after james failed to hold a podolski thunderbolt.

Get a bit of optimism in you son Nice little reenactment anyway, i hope we win, but what ever happens, they cannot take the little star above our badge away.
BlueSi13 Posted 27 June 2010 Posted 27 June 2010 I shall be watching this in a Bier Garten in the centre of Munich today, deep in enemy territory, vastly outnumbered and without a hope, where i will face jibes concerning our weather, our beer, our style of football and our women for the entire 90 minutes....but i will fight them....i will fight them until i have a victory....A VICTORY FOR ENGLAND Wish me luck men
C-man Posted 27 June 2010 Posted 27 June 2010 James Johnson - Terry - Upson - A.ColeMilner - Barry - Lampard Gerrard - J.ColeRooney

ozleicester Posted 27 June 2010 Posted 27 June 2010 9.15 pm Sunday.....45 minutes to the game.. Freezing here in Perth (freezin = 4 degrees). England 3 - 1 Germany
haraven Posted 27 June 2010 Posted 27 June 2010 Good luck English chaps - hope you can throw the Gerries out of the tournament. My fingers are crossed for England!
MC Prussian Posted 27 June 2010 Posted 27 June 2010 SCHLAND? Or will Rooney finally overcome his World Cup scoring angst? May the force be with all 22 on-field players today.
BoneDog Posted 27 June 2010 Posted 27 June 2010 Get a bit of optimism in you son Nice little reenactment anyway, i hope we win, but what ever happens, they cannot take the little star above our badge away. That is optimism, he's a Scot I think and is supporting the Krauts today!
MC Prussian Posted 27 June 2010 Posted 27 June 2010 England = asleep at the wheel. Caught napping in the back and the centre-halfs weren't looking too good there. Germany wants a win - England wants to go home?
Narborough_fox Posted 27 June 2010 Posted 27 June 2010 Klose should of gone down, Upson off, penalty and probably a goal either way great strength and good finish.
MC Prussian Posted 27 June 2010 Posted 27 June 2010 And why is Rooney once more lost somewhere in midfield? The England build-up comes across as very lacklustre and complicated - the Germans operate with about three times the speed when attacking. The two, three in the middle (Lampard & Co.) ought to provide him with proper passes - but they're nowhere to be seen.
