Germany v England - Sun - BBC - 3.00pm

deary me. That was abject shit from england. All the hype and the usual end product - massive dissapointment.

Who know's what would have happened if that goal was given but, as it was, james was the only player to come out with any credit what so ever. Upson & Heskey need to go - not that either should have been invovled today - Dawson/Carragher should have been in if king wasn't fit and Crouch should have been brought on alongside defoe.

Should the Argies get through that will be one of the best games of the tournament: both destructive in attack and self destructive at the back.

Whoops! mis-post!

pft. Just heard blatter reasoning for not applying GLT - Too expensive to apply across the world. So don't - put it in the Major tournaments - your World cups, european championships, copa america. Once the technology is in there, people will see a market for it, more will invest in creating it - supply increases, demand stays constant/drops and so price drops.

Rooney has to be the biggest disapointment in the entire team. For a player constantly hyped as being one of the 'best players in the world', he has done absolutely bugger all this tournament. His first touch has been dreadful, his insistance on balooning shots high and wide from ludicrous distances has been infuriating, and he has constantly looked leggy and slow. Capello's refusal to give the chubby waste of space the hook has pissed me off immensley.

If this is the end of the 'golden generation' then so be it, I would happily say goodbye to Lampard, Gerrard, Terry and co in a heartbeat. It's time to start trying to build a team of players that are younger and hungrier. The Germans have done this, and are reaping the rewards.

I said if we played the same line up as we did against Slovenia then Ozil would tear us a new one.

Shame i was right but it wasn't very hard to see.

The players have been absolutely shit throughout the whole tournament and probably had their minds set on where to go on holiday afterwards because you know, they need a break from their extremely hard and low paid jobs. :crylaugh::whistle:

The last 20 minutes were unbearable, not because we were 4-1 down but because the players had just given up completely, not a single one of them played for any sort of pride, they think 'Why should we care? Regardless of performances and results we still get paid.'

Its not entirely Capello's fault, he should be more tactically aware when it comes to playing certain teams and he should take note of the performances of the England players a little better but the fact remains that whoever was picked looked like they couldn't be arsed in the slightest.

Rooney was the main perpetrator of this today a decision went against him in the first 10 minutes and he had the arse for the rest of the game and it affected his performance and everyones around him because he kept blaming them for his mistakes. He should stop being such a bitchy little manchild grow up and learn to keep his cool otherwise he might as well forget about ever becoming the best player in the world.

And what will they write about the England players' performance then?

Rooney will get an 8 like he did against Slovenia for doing absolutely fook all lol

Did i or did I not say that the ref will give a stupid decision against us, it always happens, I hope people dont use that as an excuse because it happens to lots of teams who still go on to win, we were thrashed.

Liam Brady on RTE said it best - the foreign players in the PL make the English players look better than they actually are.

The Germans want to play for their country whereas for the English it looks like a chore.

Thats a lot of peoples view including mine, just look at the difference in gerrard before and after Alonso.

I have to agree with this.

Our honesty cost us that - any other team faced with that kind of brake, guaranteed a player would have brought the attack to a crunching holt with a synical foul to pick up only a yellow card. Johnson had the chance to bring down Swinstiger for the third, Barry should clearly have kicked Ozil for the forth, but they let them run on.

There is of course the question why they had that many people beond the ball for the third considering Lampard was always going to shoot for there and why Barry just didn't lash it first time knowing where he was and what was behind him.

When we got our suprise first, we suddenly uped the tempo, started to move the ball quickly and looked dangerous. Sadly, someone must have calmed us down at half time because we didn't attack with quite the same verve. True though, we still had chances and it seemed we'd got over our shocking defending and looking good to tie the game until our sucideal play at a Lampard free kick.

Gerrard made a couple of bad choices, shooting where he really should have crossed it, and Barry - well I wonder what all the fuss is about now! Rooney huffed and puffed, all too many times in the wrong area. His best bit of the world cup came at 4-1 down - just wish we'd seen more of him ala that Nike advert.

What a disapointment and to compound matters, Pearson will be confirmed as Hull manager tomorrow!

That is the most spot on comment i've ever read.

Ballack and Mikel take the fall for Lampard at Chelsea.

Rooney looks good because of the quality of the players at Man Utd.

Alonso and Mascherano used to take the fall for Gerrard, now 1 of them is gone he doesn't look half as good.

Its a shame that the '3 best players' in our team rely on other players to do all the dirty work for them allowing them to take the glory. If these players played for Wigan or Stoke they would be Above average at the absolute best.

Show us some more of that German blonde in the crowd from earlier, far more entertaining.

Oh aye, more of her and less of the absolute Ingurlund mauler who at 4-1 down was put on the big screen grinning and waving like she was on the top of the world.

Ashley Cole is Englands best player.

Outclassed, Outfought and nothing short of a national embarrasment. We didn't even deserve to make it this far let alone progress further.

Football in the country is seriously fvcked up at all levels. Buck stops with the Fa for me, been on a downward spiral ever since Euro 96 ended.

Kudos to Germany just goes to show what you can produce when your institutions, clubs and leagues are so immacultely run. They are the example.

To Keep It Short:

I never knew footballers can play the dictator role - Bastian Schweinsteiger take a bow.

Ozil and Muller are future stars.

As for England .. Travisty. The 'golden' generation is over. 4 years to prepare some youth. Never seen such bad defending.

Goaline technology is a must ! Disgraceful. Not an excuse, just for football in general.

Can't be bothered to read the thread, too pissed off.

In short, England were (and are) utter shit. Totally deserved victory for the Germans.

Well played. :appl:

Germany - Holland is a bigger rivalry than Germany - England

Wrong. I live in Germany and thats simply not the case anymore.

I'm worried that Ozil is going to have the freedom of the park based on Lampards and Barry's form.

Its a shame we'll probably end up seeing.

James.

Johnson

Carragher

Terry

A.Cole

Milner

Lampard

Barry

Gerrard

Rooney

Defoe

I personally feel that line up will get torn apart.

If I, a 20 year old computing student could point all this out and see it happening a mile off, then why couldn't Fabio Capello a supposed world class football manager thats won championships and trophies at the highest level.

Unwillingness to adapt and change formation based on circumstances and chosen man syndrome is again the reason we've flopped at a major tournament again.

Outclassed.

Capello got his tactics wrong. Taking Defoe off at 4-1 down? Leaving one at the back for a free-kick Lampard was always going to shoot from? Insisting on playing at 100 miles an hour? School boy stuff. Ciao Fabio.

Gerrard, Lampard, Rooney and Terry are NOT world class! Maybe everyone will realise that now.

On the whole an awful, awful tournament that was destined for embarrassment.

Fresh start is needed and expectations need to be lower for Euro 2012 and Brazil 2014.
