Did he fall or was he pushed.

Sounds to me like he really didn't want to leave but was made to. This suggests Milan has other plans, but why get rid of one of the most talented young managers in England?

Reinforces the idea that either:

a) Milan and Hoos had enough of making contract offers and having them refused. Or;

b) Milan was unconvinced that we would make progress under Pearson next season. Or;

c) There is indeed a takeover in the offing, and Milan took the opportunity to clear the decks.

Doesn't sound like NP had much of a choice in the matter does it.........................

nope he obviously didnt want 2 leave

sumit is goin on maybe the take ova rumour is true? who knows

Ive got a hunch that MM was calling NP's bluff. Test his loyalty to the club.

MM said go and talk to test his loyalty and NP took the opportunity to grab and run.

I know our fanbase has its fair share of aresholes but I'm hoping even the biggest of dimwits won't boo Pearson when he returns in October. He deserves nothing but respectful applause.

I have inside information from the club that Pearson left because:

A) Milan had been negotiating a contract since December with Pearson, however Pearson rejected each contract Milan offered

B) Each time Pearson tried to sign a player, Milan did not back Pearson due to financial reasons therefore winding Pearson up.

C) Milan wants to get out of LCFC and is looking for buyers.

I no I have not posted really anything on this site before, but this is from a hugely reliable source, close to Pearson.

Really does look like somethings going on, i just wish they'd tell us now. I'm more convinced than ever that Pearson was told to look for another job.

Yes Mrs Pearson told me exactly the same 3 pieces of information but at the time I did not think it hugely reliable but now she's told you, perhaps there's something in it.

No it is just that there are so many rumours and so much conjecture on here, including posts from some who claim to be in the know, that it makes one's brain ache, It is inevitable I know, given that the club is not going to tell us what really happened and that we will continue to feel unsettled until we know who will definitely be the new manager and who we will have in the squad. I have posted my view as well, on the Sousa thread. It does look like Pearson is himself somehat shocked by events. However, I have no sources of information but I have always respected Mandaric for taking over the club at that crucial time. It appeared to be for the best of reasons: that he likes football and found LCFC attractive. I know the money he has put in will have to be repaid if he does sell the club but he has not mortgaged the club and run up the enormous debts that other rogue owners have accomplished. Why are you certain that he does want to pull out? If he does it suggests it was all a bit of a gamble to see whether he could restore the club's fortunes in three years, watch some good football and do some profitable business transactions along the way.

Reading that interview makes things seem a bit clearer, i.e. I think Nigel would have been happy to stay had he not been "pushed".

I think 'a', 'c' or post #8 as a longshot could all be true

You can look at it in two ways...

Either Milan thinks it's only decent to let Pearson talk to other clubs if he chooses but Pearson has overeacted and seen it as a lack of faith.

Or Milan wasn't bothered about him leaving and was happy for him to do so.

I completely understand how many people on hear who claim they are in the 'know' and i'm sure many of them are making it up, however the person I have spoken to is close to the club and Pearson and the points I made would not have been 'made up'. Pearson never received the contract he wanted, and there negotiating started in December, several contracts were rejected and Pearson felt he was never going to receive the deal he wanted. Secondly Pearson had a number of 'free' agents lined up to sign for City, however each time he approached Milan about bringing them to the club, Milan often stalled on the offers and this annoyed Pearson. Thirdly Milan is looking to sell up, therefore showing that the rumours of a consortium taking over may well be true.

I have learnt from a very reliable source that the email message sent to the club 'A new Malaysian take away appear soon outside the Walkers Stadium' was translated incorrectly, whilst Milan was on safari, as 'A new Malaysian take over Pearson out of Walkers stadium'. Heads have rolled but of course THEY will never tell us the truth.

For whatever reason, it seems that Mandaric wasn't as committed to NP as you would have expected him to be. He was under contract and it would have been easy enough to rebuff the approach, and I doubt he'd be daft enough to attempt to call his bluff by giving NP permission to talk to them.

Such a tangled web of intrigue. Smoke and mirrors! Wheels within wheels! Plans and schemes!

Will we ever be any the wiser?

Probably not. But if you wanted transparency and openess, you've picked the wrong sport to follow me hearties, ha-harrgh

I swear we've just gotten used to never getting any information, I was reading through speculation threads yesterday and then suddenly realised that this isn't normal in the slightest.

Anyway I'm quite happy to take Pearson at his word. If the approach had been rebuffed he'd probably still be our manager. As it is we gave them permission and he went where he was wanted and valued. He's been a fantastic manager and we can all blame Milan.

The thing I'm most concerned about isn't losing Pearson but at the timing of it all. Losing our manager and head of recruitment at this stage could easily set us back an entire season.

This assumes we are actually going somewhere, rather than just bumbling along. I like your positive attitutude. Keep it up. :scarf:

If this is, indeed, the case, then the question is why did Mandaric accept the offer? Maybe he didn't care, maybe he had good reason. Who knows?

I have to say, reading between the lines, that I believe something big is happening, and most likely it is a takeover.

I have no ill feeling towards N.P. or M.M., and just accept that these things happen in any business

Nigel has gone, and I thank him for all he did for us. If Milan goes too, then I also thank him for bailing this club out, and giving us a lifeline.

Now we must just wait and see what the future brings, and support any new ownership ( if it is forthcoming ), and manager. Leicester City F.C., and not individuals are what is most important at the end of the day. :scarf: :scarf: :scarf:
