Koke Posted 7 July 2010 Posted 7 July 2010 Spain bore me to tears. I know it not popular to say that Spain are boring, but they really are. They bore the living cock out of me with their Spanish Catenaccio. Pass it sideways 4354358 times at a snails pace. Score a goal and suck the life out of this game. ZzzzzzzzzzZZzzzzzzzz

Koke Posted 7 July 2010 Posted 7 July 2010 It will be a travesty if Spain win the World Cup. Please Holland, don't let me down.

ZzzzzzzzzzZZzzzzzzzz I'd get used to it in time for next season matey I have to agree though gotta be the worst world cup I can remember and if Spain win it then it's not a good advert for the game.
Tilley Posted 7 July 2010 Posted 7 July 2010 I don't want Spain to do well, I could just never cheer on a German side. Holland will hopefully win on Sunday, if only for the fact I stuck a tenner on them in May at 14/1 to win it.
purpleronnie Posted 7 July 2010 Posted 7 July 2010 Excellent, I predicted Spain at the start, my dad predicted Holland. Its a Purpleronnie v purpleronnie snr final. Amazed at the over reaction about the germans, all after beating a poor england and a Argentine side who are well known to give terrible goals away.
Narborough_fox Posted 7 July 2010 Posted 7 July 2010 Germany to win either 2012 Euro or 2014 World Cup.
MC Prussian Posted 7 July 2010 Posted 7 July 2010 Germany hardly ever threatened, which came as a bit of a surprise. I think they missed Mueller dearly. They didn't seem like scoring - Klose on his own just doesn't work. Podolski could never add pressure on the flank and Schweinsteiger rarely moved forward. Was it the respect or the heavy legs? I think Loew wanted to frustrate the heck out of the Spaniards - problem is, it never worked. The Iberian precision passing simply found a way around it. All in all, Spain had more power reserves and boy did they control the midfield. 2/3 of ball possession for the first 30 minutes says it all, really. Well done, we're getting a totally new World Champion now. And Uruguay, get in 3rd, willya?
davieG Posted 7 July 2010 Author Posted 7 July 2010 Germany never even attempted to play until they went behind - they were the boring fooks. If they'd have played the 1st 75 like they did the last 15 then Spain wouldn't have had to spend so much time passing the ball side ways and backwards. You need two teams trying if you want an exciting game,
FoxyPV Posted 7 July 2010 Posted 7 July 2010 I thought it was a decent enough game. I agree with DavieG about Germany leaving it too late, it would have been a great match if both teams had have went gung ho. Ah well lost a small fortune on Germany. Can't see Holland beating Spain. On the upside Uruguay V Germany will be a great match!
lcfc_jme Posted 7 July 2010 Posted 7 July 2010 Missed Müller massively in terms of work-ethic, pace and energy. Özil was stifled again and couldn't really get much done. Afforded Spain's midfield too much respect until 1-0 down, also. Over the course of 90 minutes, Spain fully deserved the win, so best of luck to them in the final. It was certainly Spain's most disciplined and effective performance of the tournament in my opinion, and a performance of a similar nature will see them through the final and crowned World Champions.
Guest Bilo Posted 7 July 2010 Posted 7 July 2010 Be good to see a new name on the World Cup but I'm really hoping Holland do it. For me, a football nation that has produced players like Cruyff, Gullit, Van Basten and Bergkamp, not to mention the whole notion of Total Football and various world class teams since the 1970s deserves a World Cup to cement its place at world football's top table. Spain saved their best football of the tournament so far for tonight and will be tough opposition as they too bid for their first World Cup. Still, Hup Oranje!!!
Joe. Posted 7 July 2010 Posted 7 July 2010 Delighted for Spain, they deserved everything they got tonight. It really should have been more to be honest, I still don't quite know how Pedro messed up his chance at the end. Just glad that Germany are gone and everybody can stop having wet dreams about them.
Alexikokopops Posted 8 July 2010 Posted 8 July 2010 Germany are a good footballing team because they have total footballers, for example Shweinsteiger is an attacking centre midfielder yet Loew is asking him to play in defensive midfield and he happily will, imagine how SWP or Lennon would react to being asked to play in defensive midfield. Another example of this is Philip Lahm one of the best left backs in the world being asked to play at right back and doing it happily, think again the outrage which would be caused if Ashley Cole was asked to play on the right. I'm a bit late, I know, but Lahm's preferred position is right back. He used to play on the left when Munich had Sagnol, but after they signed Jansen he moved back to the right with Jansen on the left and he's stayed there since.
