ramboacdc Posted 3 August 2010 Posted 3 August 2010 25-1 to not win a game, that's terrible Newspaper gossip Blackpool's promotion heroes are still waiting to be paid the bonuses owed to them since their play-off victory at Wembley two months ago, leaving owner Karl Oyston facing a damaging row two weeks before their Premier League debut at Wigan. haha that was 1000-1 3 months ago.
Manwell Pablo Posted 3 August 2010 Posted 3 August 2010 They'll get a massive, massive kicking next season, DJ was massive for them, s**t as he is, and he's gone as quite jaw dropingly, they can't afford his wages. Players they are looking at are quite laughable. Tyson Jeffers Stead none of them are good enough for the Premier League. The best thing they could do from a purely footbal perspective is put ethics to one side and sign that T**t Marlon King, good business on a free. Even then they're still ******
Guest Bilo Posted 3 August 2010 Posted 3 August 2010 I honestly think that 25/1 about Blackpool not winning a game all season will look huge before long. Nobody seems to want to join them, their chairman doesn't want to spend money and Holloway seems fed up. They're in a much, much worse state than Derby were in 2007 and they only won one all season. Can't say I'm too sad for them though, been reading Bentleys and their fans seem like right twankers.
Ozwin Posted 3 August 2010 Author Posted 3 August 2010 Where can I get this 25/1 on them not winning a game all season then?
C-man Posted 4 August 2010 Posted 4 August 2010 There are plenty of average teams in the Premier League that Blackpool will get points off at Bloomfield Road. They'll beat Derby's total.
Guest Bilo Posted 4 August 2010 Posted 4 August 2010 There are plenty of average teams in the Premier League that Blackpool will get points off at Bloomfield Road. They'll beat Derby's total. The 7/1 about them failing to do so looks tempting though. 10 points or less? Not beyond the realms of possibility mate.
AjcW Posted 4 August 2010 Posted 4 August 2010 Interestingly though, the problem with Derby and similar promoted teams was that they felt the need to sign 3450415619 players who had little or no time to settle in. Perhaps (accidentally) we will see what happens when the same squad (who are lets face it, on a high) stays together for two seasons. Add a couple of signings and Holloway may have inadvertently stumbled upon something good .
Tommeh Posted 4 August 2010 Posted 4 August 2010 Ridiculous in my opinion to think they won' t win a game or get as a few points as Derby. They'll go down but won't disgrace themselves, many foreign lads won't fancy Bloomfield road in November. Good for 15 points at least I reckon.
Collier Posted 6 August 2010 Posted 6 August 2010 They'll go down, then (probably) dick all over the Championship when they've not wasted the cash promotion got them, though.
h1210 Posted 8 August 2010 Posted 8 August 2010 If today's Mail is to be believed, they are refusing to sign anyone on more than 10k a week
dandannieldanok Posted 8 August 2010 Posted 8 August 2010 If today's Mail is to be believed, they are refusing to sign anyone on more than 10k a week Fair enough, they don't want to overspend and end up in a similar position to Portsmouth. Yes it will obviously compromise the quality of their squad and their chances of staying up, but better to not spend money you don't have.
Ozwin Posted 8 August 2010 Author Posted 8 August 2010 Where's all the money they got from being promoted gone?
NGoloMode Posted 8 August 2010 Posted 8 August 2010 Where's all the money they got from being promoted gone? I've got a feeling they are saving it for the season after. More money to get promoted again with.
Narborough_fox Posted 8 August 2010 Posted 8 August 2010 Where's all the money they got from being promoted gone? They built there new stand with the promotion money, didn't they.
NGoloMode Posted 8 August 2010 Posted 8 August 2010 They built there new stand with the promotion money, didn't they. Yes and that.
davieG Posted 10 August 2010 Posted 10 August 2010 Marlon Harewood's proposed move to Blackpool has hit a snag over his wage demands. The former West Ham and Aston Villa striker - now a free agent - has been in talks over a move to Bloomfield Road. Ian Holloway is desperate for players ahead of the new season as his squad, currently standing at just 16 players, is worryingly thin for Premier League football. Harewood, 30, is wanted by Holloway, who plans to link the striker up with Francis Jeffers, who remains a target following his trial. The Blackpool manager is hopeful he can agree a deal with Harewood but wants him to lower his wage request before completing a deal. Holloway admits he hopes he can sort a deal out soon because he fears his side will struggle without the extra bodies. "At the moment we are 20 million miles away from being able to compete in the Premier League," he said. "If we have to start the season with this team I may as well pack up and go home because we are not going to be ready." Didn't he say something similar when starting at our place?
davieG Posted 10 August 2010 Posted 10 August 2010 BLACKPOOL will make ex-Barcelona starlet Ludovic Sylvestre their first summer buy. The midfielder, 26, who is leaving Czech side Mlada Boleslav, said: "I'll have a medical, then sign. "I'm looking forward to playing in England." Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 10 August 2010 Posted 10 August 2010 Blackpool have almost wasted a place in the PL. Us, Forest, or Cardiff were much better equipped and would have put up a fight at least.
Ozwin Posted 10 August 2010 Author Posted 10 August 2010 You watch Blackpool shock everyone and do a Hull in their first season. They've got a small squad but maybe their togetherness will shine through? ... ... Pffffft, no, they're so going down.
Toby or not Toby Posted 11 August 2010 Posted 11 August 2010 They have signed Marlon Harewood making it 5 in a day, hopefully that will shut Holloway up for a bit.
surrifox Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 Holloway fishing some old rejects out of the bargain bin before the shop closes for the night. Probably invested a lot of expectation in the plan to screw us over DJ and get him for nothing. Pikeys
