Why is Wigan's pitch so shit?

It's not even rugby league season.

Maybe they wanted it to reflect their team. :dunno:

Andy Carroll could be out til end of the season. £35m well spent!!! :crylaugh:lol

Where's your source?

I know that he was nursing an injury when they bought him but I thought it was only minor?

Been on Twitter. Jacqui Oatley retweeted it from Miles Starforth, who said Sunday Mirror are reporting etc...

What's with Joe Hart's black eye? Night club bust-up or what?

Steve Howard took offence to Joe Hart getting angry at him in the cup game.

Most probably a ball to the face. Afterall they do have balls flying at them constantly in practice.

Also, Silva's Man Citys unsung hero. Seems to play a part in all their goals.

That is one menacing forehead.

His head is shaped like somebody who is looking into one of those fairground mirrors!

Bit harsh on Di Matteo but West Broms recent form has been pretty bad.

I'm sure they've already got a replacement lined up.

That is a fooking result for Wolves, well done!

Get in Wolves.

Heroes.

ELOKOBI

And it's hi, ho, Wolverhampton!

Pleased for Wolves.

Quite like them and McCarthy, hope they stay up.

:appl::thumbup:

Cheers lads. I came on here to find the Elokobi love-in thread!!

Am i the only one that thought Bartons tackle on Diaby was awful?

On MOTD Lawrenson said he thought it was a great challenge. I thought it was terrible personally.

I thought it was a good challenge. One footed and he got the ball. It was his knee that took Diaby out on the follow through. It was aggressive sure but it was a 50/50 he had every right to go for. Wouldn't like to see challenges like that outlawed.

But surely that's where excessive force comes into it. There is no need for Barton to go in with such force on Diaby. We have to lose the attitude in this country of "Oh you've ploughed into me and left half my leg hanging off, but it's ok you won the ball." It's not ok to go in that hard and cause potential injury, whether you win the ball or not.

WIth a sliding tackle, you're bound to go in with some force and momentum though. And if you get the ball first, then yeah, it is okay and sometimes the follow-through just so happens that you take some of the player too. After all, it is a contact sport and players have to be ready to take the hits.

When I was watching my stream, I thought Barton went in 2-footed. Having watched MOTD though, there was nothing wrong with the tackle. It was just full-blooded.

You really think there is too much contact in the modern English game? I'd argue that there isn't enough.

Exactly. Especially if you are both sprinting towards the ball from opposite directions trying to win a 50/50
