isaidno Posted 8 September 2010 Posted 8 September 2010 If anyone wants a lift from the Sileby/ Barrow / Birstall area let me know
kimmy619 Posted 8 September 2010 Posted 8 September 2010 We are going to the Cov match. Yes, the atmosphere will probably be gash, but it seems a waste not to go and support them team when Cov is so close. We didn't manage to book the tickets online either as it wouldn't let me book two tickets despite the fact that we had networked our two season tickets When I called up, they didn't let me have a say in where the tickets are so we are right at the bloody front We are planning on driving. Are the carparks easy to find?
the_foxes_till_i_die Posted 8 September 2010 Posted 8 September 2010 my mrs rang up for me 2day. The woman at tik office was just gunna give us random tiks but she said i wanted tiks furthest back. The closest they had was row MM
kimmy619 Posted 8 September 2010 Posted 8 September 2010 I am so near the front, I might as well be f***ing playing!!!

I go to away games, firstly for the all day session, secondly for the day out, but also to watch my team play wherever they're playing and whatever the atmosphere may be. The team still need our support.
Bluefoxtim Posted 8 September 2010 Posted 8 September 2010 I'm on row PP block 9. Booked over the phone and just asked for the back and in the middle. No problem!
kimmy619 Posted 9 September 2010 Posted 9 September 2010 I must have caught the girl in a bad mood...... I'm feeling a bit crap about being right at the bloody front now!!! I probably won't be able to see anything!

I, like many other Students, find money hard to come by and therefore this season I'm deciding to pick and choose the games I go to. Paying £25.50 for a match I won't enjoy, pointless. In fairness, I'm not able to make this match anyway due to work commitments. Give me Portsmouth away on a Friday night over Coventry any day.
tomtom Posted 9 September 2010 Posted 9 September 2010 Sorry if this has been asked by someone already but is there anywhere near the scum ground to park ? Or is it best to taxi it in again ??

It just seems people aren't going purely because the atmosphere might (won't ) not be electric - each to their own anyway. ...and yea, looking forward to Pompey MUCH more!
Tommeh Posted 9 September 2010 Posted 9 September 2010 Sorry if this has been asked by someone already but is there anywhere near the scum ground to park ? Or is it best to taxi it in again ?? Pleny of street parking available about 15 mins walk away south of the Trent, plus many multi stories in the City centre.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 9 September 2010 Posted 9 September 2010 Sorry if this has been asked by someone already but is there anywhere near the scum ground to park ? Or is it best to taxi it in again ?? We always park on the industrial estate off the A444 heading towards the ground. On either road in there called Silverstone Drive or Mallory Way. Heres the link from Google: http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=Coventry+City+FC&sll=53.800651,-4.064941&sspn=11.905102,28.256836&ie=UTF8&hq=Coventry+City+FC&hnear=&t=h&ll=52.450949,-1.4956&spn=0.005989,0.013797&z=16

If the game was at Highfield road and we got a flat 3k allocation I'd be there like a shot.
tomtom Posted 9 September 2010 Posted 9 September 2010 Thank-you fox and tommeh for the advice, much appreciated !

Traditionally, both the atmosphere and the performances have never been great at Cov, so can you blame people for not wanting to go? A lot of people on this Forum will only attend matches if they know that fellow like minded supporters are going to do so. Traditionally, the majority of our support sit down at Cov && don't bother to sing, that's not going to create a very good atmosphere. Most people go to the football to enjoy the atmosphere, there's nothing left to enjoy if there is none. Why pay £25.50 for a match that they're not going to enjoy?
tomtom Posted 9 September 2010 Posted 9 September 2010 Well I've ended up with tickets on the left side again so I guess I'll be stuck with the dullards,...the right-hand side had a good go at creating a good atmosphere last year ,
stix Posted 9 September 2010 Posted 9 September 2010 Yeah ive got tickets on the left-block 7 if i remember. Will be moving over to the right tho if there is space!
Maybes Posted 9 September 2010 Posted 9 September 2010 Yup. If the game was at Highfield road and we got a flat 3k allocation I'd be there like a shot. Highfield Road was brilliant.
bubbleshorse Posted 9 September 2010 Posted 9 September 2010 Sorry if this has been asked by someone already but is there anywhere near the scum ground to park ? Or is it best to taxi it in again ?? Easy Option Leisure Ireland Also Pub for Away Fans and quickest getaway. It's £4 (£3.95 online) but the cars are secure/supervised during the game.

So your saying just because some who you tend to agree with ain't going, that there won't be one person that sings? I've thankfully been near the back both times I've been Cov, and as shit as it is an away day, Cov is Cov for me, a local rivalry and although it's not distributed throughout the majority of our support, there will be a shit load of passion for it from some of us, including myself.
jimmygee Posted 9 September 2010 Posted 9 September 2010 Hi people, Does any1 know what time the black horse pub opens this saturday?? Its the pub where the leicester fans always go before the games at the ricoh. Its just underneith the m6 motorway bridge. I'm sure it was open early last year when we had an early kick off. Any body know when its opening this year and is any1 going there before the game?

A fire in the Tesco Stand?? I know what you're saying though mate and I love a good atmosphere and will stand and sing all game, in fact, sitting down during a game with a bad atmosphere often ruins my day out, however it would never put me off going again. If that was the case, I'd never be seen at Filbert Way. Also, I can't stand the feeling of listening to fooking Stringer on radio Leicester and hearing us singing in background or watching Soccer Saturday and the same happening, so rarely miss an away unless it's a ridiculous Tuesday night in Portsmouth when there's no chance of me having the time off work. Friday is ok though I'm going to turn this thread upside down and say I'm ****ing looking forward to Sat, our Season will start at The Echo.

It's exactly the same for me, this will be the first away I've missed since Walsall away && I only missed that due to illness. I wouldn't have been able to go tomorrow even if I'd have wanted to. I'm not too fussed about missing it though because it's the worst away in the league. Paying £25.50 for a ticket in a half-empty soulless bowl with the part-time blue army just doesn't appeal to me.
