We started nervous against Palace and lost that in the 1st half before totally battering them, hitting the target god knows how many times, hitting the woodwork twice, scoring 2 goals. We could have had six that second half. We then left one of the division favourites who have spent millions and millions compared to us and left them chasing shadows for most of the match. All that was missing was a goal we battered them. And then embarassingly we had idiots saying we can't score goals and we need a striker when we had scored 7 in our first 2 games Burnley are by far the strongest of the relegated sides and we were always going to struggle in that one. We were always probably going to lose to them away from home. And already this starts. 3 fooking games and it's all no positives, we're shit, Pearson was amazing, Sousa out. Shocking. Had we drew at Palace and won at home, which could have easily happened, you would all be saying good start playoff chance again. Reading at home next week, the most winnable League game so far. Give me strength. I've got to turn Radio Leicester off now. Jokers. 3 games.

He has failed with his plan`s for this club, he said a 3 yr plan which is now in the 4th year I think that is right? so if our poor start to the season continues we will be managerless again and then what? Turn to dowie, all of us have been through a lot with this club but im disappointed to say the least!

Give it time people. Everyone rightly complained at Mandaric's shotgun approach to managers in his first full season at the club, yet the fans will still jump on the managers back so soon and pine for the old manager back. Pearson's gone, move on and get behind the team.

Bert has indirectly said the new owners didn't want NP and wanted Sousa as he was more of a household name. Pearson had a proven track record with us and was the best thing to happen to this club since MON. We always progressed under Pearson. We finally had a manger who was moulding his own team and had lasted longer than one season in the job. We had stability, the fans were all in unison behind Pearson, one of the brightest English managers. We were seeing very astute signings, great loan deals all done with little money. Pearson and his backroom team are the only reason why we are where we are and deserved the money more than anyone. I've no doubt that if he had the kitty we'd be promoted this season. New owners come along, think it's some sort of toy. Get rid of the manager because he's not got a few cl medals in his cabinet. Come out with silly statements like we will be in the prem next season. Start branding figures about, expanding the stadium etc I think they've been totally naive as their used to being able to buy their way through this world. Unfortunately they will learn the hard way and whilst their at it fook over the loyal fans and destroy a small part of what could've been a successful period. Are team has no stability, no loyalty to players with all this talk of new signings. Everything seems very disorganised and Sousa is a media whore. I'd do anything to have our "dour" NP back. I'm totally disillusioned with the club at the moment. It's an absolute shambles if you think about it and I think many fans deluded themselves to better things but deep down know Pearson was the best thing that had happened to us in recent years. Hopefully this thread comes and bites me back in the arse but I very much doubt it. Que the deluded calling it a knee jerk reaction but it's the stark truth. Agree with this, we all grew to love Nigel. I remember when we beat MK dons in out first league 1 match and he kept his cool, said not to get carried away. Now we have the new owners saying we will in the prem next season. He did good things for us, but I hope it's not going to be a case of what could have been..

None of us know for sure but the rumours that NP was pushed outweigh the thoughts that he left on his own accord.

Sousa isn't the problem, I'd even go as far as suggesting our biggest problem has been the fixture computer. Our squad can't possibly be any worse than last season's, purely because it contains virtually all of the same members.

I have no evidence either way. NP was under contract when he left so he had to physically move on. It's all rumours as you say. I suppose I don't like people saying "fact" when they don't really know the true position.

Poor signings? Not seen Crnic play, so can't judge. Lamey looks like he WILL be better than Neilson. Moussa looks a nice prospect for the next few years. Moreno WILL be a good playmaker once we get him out the back four. Vitor hasn't played yet, so can't judge. What exactly IS an inspiring signing? Edgar Davids? Craig Bellamy? Please tell me where these players are, waiting to be picked up by us....

'Boro at home - played them off the park and should have scored at least 2. Burnley away - extremely difficult to get any kind of result there whether playing well or not. "Bring back MON and Heskey!" 3 games played - chill out. "Keep the faith with Ian Holloway...?!?!?" right that's it. I'm retiring!

It has just taken a poor start to the season to come out and say it. PS should have the backing of the fans as it is too early to say what will happen one way or the other but seriously would we have capitulated without a whimper last season as that is what it sounded like today. I turned off on 70 minutes as it was too depressing to listen to. Forest Away we were woeful at derby too. I watched us play poorly in a few games too. Everything that has happened with Nigel has gone, we just have to get behind PS and hope he can get a few more of "his" players in so his style can take shape quicker.

Why change a very good thing? This club of ours never ceases to amaze me, just when the tide seemed to be turning after a few years of obscurity it is one step forward, five steps back. I don't think ps has Sussed his best team out yet, I hope he does it soon before we are out of touch with the leading pack

Donut Posted 21 August 2010 Posted 21 August 2010 is there not something to be said for the fact that why when a new manager comes in does he feel it necessary to radically overhaul the style of play and personnel within his squad? the nucleus of the squad is largely the same and were effective in producing their economical pragmatic football. was there really any need to overhaul the playing style of a squad that was a penalty shootout away from a place in a championship playoff final. some astute loan additions plus the odd permament signing here and there would have put us in a much more competitive position. I feel Pearson's signings were a lot more able to slot straight into his system rather than 'hit and miss' additions from european leagues that might not work out. All Pearsons loan signings were hungry youngsters from clubs of good footballing culture who were 'ready to play' and go out to prove a point. Im also annoyed that Mandaric has never produced a straight answer to any question in his whole tenure.
