Foxes never quit

Ok people, I'm sure i will get yelled at by many fans for this post, but i just wanted to point something out. Bruno Berner at the weekend said "I listen to Paulo because I respect him", Ok so our start hasn't been to the script, But as a fan pointed out a few teams who started slow ended up finishing strongly! Our performances have not been so bad that we look doomed, we have had a summer of uncertainty due to reasons i do not need to mention, but having only just seen the takeover go through how can we expect new faces in and developments quickly? If it takes three or four games to get started so be it! Don't forget who Paulo Sousa is, a two time champions league winner, and a member on the Portuguese "Golden generation", as Bruno stated the guy has respect. I for one Respect him and i have faith that now he has his money he will be able to make a couple of clever signings to add the extra quality we need. Any rebuilding process takes time, and once the first win comes in, more will follow and we will grow in confidence! As Bruno pointed out "Foxes never quit" and we sure as hell wont.

Agree with this.

Norwich's first 3 games last season were a 7-1 home loss, a 1-1 draw away and then a 2-1 away loss. Then they went on to win the league by 9 points.

Now i am not saying that is what we are going to go and do and before anyone says anything...i know it was league 1. But everything is relative, they were in that division for a reason as were we.

I think we played well in the 2nd half against palace, should of taken all 3 points against boro and i dont think the scoreline quite reflects the performance against burnleh, although they deserved their win.

This team does need a bit of time to gel and i think this week could be a very important one for the club. With the right acquisitions we WILL be a strong team in this division this season and will be up there.

I watched the cov v derby game yesterday and the boro v sheff utd game today, cov are 4th and they played some of the dullest football i have seen. Boro are favourites to win this league and they were shocking today also. Our team plays better football than the majority of this division now and with a few fine tweaks i still think this season should be one we all look forward to.

Well he wasn't listening to Bruno or showing him respect during the warm up on Saturday he was one of the players having a private chat whilst Bruno was putting the team through their paces.

Frankly it gives me no confidence at all when I see that happening

The way in which we are currently playing has clearly shown the deficiencies within the current squad. For me the team overachieved last season playing a rather predictable yet very organised style of play which saw us do well and see us pick up good results thanks to a fair share of good fortune. We never totally dominated teams and yet still pulled results out of the bag.

Since then we've lost a rock at the back in Brown and loanees in Waghorn and Spearing who kept the engine running and the urgency flowing through the team.

The second half of last season saw many question the ability of certain players - N'Guessan, Oakley, Neilson, Howard, all of which find themselves on the team sheet come the start of this season. We never solved the problem of balance accross a midfield 4 and in an attempt to make us less predictable, we changed system to a 4-3-3/4-5-1 which saw us through to a decent run-in at the end of the campaign and revitalised performances from, in particular, Howard.

Roll on the summer and the style has completely changed with a squad of players more used to playing far less free flowing football. We've come up against Palace away, Selhurst Park, where we always do pretty badly, but could arguably have come away with a point. M'boro we played off the park and should have won and yesterday was always going to be tricky whether up for it or not.

Everybody needs to appreciate being able to take the rough with the smooth. It's 3 games in. Chill out people.

The problems with the current squad were there at the start of last season too. We still do not possess a decent right-sided midfield player so the balance accross the midfield still remains a problem. Oakley is now a year older and drive within the core of the midfield is waning. We still appear not to possess a prolific striker and/or target man to make things happen either.

The only way to solve this... spend cash and possibly smash a wage structure.

There's only so far this squad of players can go as it is now and we won't do better than 5th as things are whether it's passing football or not.

I watched them get off the coach at burnley and they all looked miserable except chris powell. Could have been 'focused' though I suppose.

To me so far they've been more reminiscent of the peter taylor relegation team who looked completely unprepared for the season from the first drubbing home to bolton and never caught up

i actually hate anyone who blames a manager for a teams poor performance.. its the players who are paid stupid money these days to kick around a ball of air now a manager is employed to make tactical choices and build a team now he wasnt actually blessed with a brilliant team when he came here.. i`m sure all of you critics are obviously alex ferguson the 2nd who is a better manager than who evers in charge so plz apply for the position if it comes availible and lets see how good you do.

untill then support your fooking team who ever is in charge and stop being fooking depressing... how did blackpool start last year ? crap? were are they now? in the prem gettin pounded but still gained promotion

I have faith that he will get it right, given time, but why try to make so many dramitic changes in such a short time, to what was a (gneraly) winning team heading in the right direction?

Did anyone hear Mark Hughes on the radio today after being asked whether he was going to get fulham playing the 'Hughes' way. In summary he said there had been alot of good work don at teh club over the previous seasons and he saw no reason to rip that up and start again, and that it was just a case of making a few weaks here and there.

By comparison, what has Sousa done? changed a sucessful defencive system to zonal marking which has let in 3 goals 3 of the 4 first games, and adopted a passing game that the players are not happy with, at the expense of player fitness?

Seems pretty crazy and ill calculated to me

If I ever hear the phrase "Foxes Never Quit" uttered in real life again I will not be held responsible for my actions.

Well said this man.

Keep the Faith.

We're not bottom of the table any more. Three games in though and more than 120 points still available. I'm not going to worry until we're over halfway and in touching distance of relegation.

This.

We have had a tough month with a new manager, slow starts happen to teams all the time. It's part of the game.

I like it. Probably be using it again. Bit worried now.

This is Swansea's opening month from lasts season. Funnily enough, same record as us so far. They didn't end up too bad really did they?

Whether that was rhetorical or not, I feel inclined to answer. I think with our core squad being arguably more talented, we will finish in the playoffs. I think we will put away more and this season is seemingly easier than last time round.

Good stat, thanks.

They didn't get into the Play Offs. Your point is?

How is it the same record? Swansea got 3 points from their first 3 games and we have got 1. They didn't get into the Play Offs. Your point is?

Brighton was a cup game.

Brighton was in the Carling Cup. So the record is not dissimilar.

Yes. I edited my post when I realised. I am too quick to criticise! Still, the point about the Play Offs stands.

Thought I'd leave a reply whilst i waited for you to get the egg of your face, but my point was/is, we have the exact same record as Swansea had at this time last season and they still managed a 7th placed finish. Now I know we're aiming for higher, but I'm sure most people on here will agree that 7th isn't too bad a finish, which was what I stated.

Sousa needed time to get his ideas across to Swansea, so lets just be patient and give him the time to see if he can successfully get it across to our players. There's no need for panic just yet.

When Roy Keane took over at Sunderland, they were bottom of the league, now guess what? They went on to win the league. I'm pretty sure Derby were bottom at Christmas one season and made a massive push to get up there too. I could be wrong on that though.

The season is only 3 games old, it still may be a turbulent, frustrating few weeks with impending new transfers so just be patient, and we'll soon be on the up.
