Guest Bilo Posted 1 September 2010 Posted 1 September 2010 Genuinely stunned by how much support the group is getting. Thanks to everyone who has signed and particularly to Houdini Logic for setting up the petition. Perhaps higher powers than Barclay at the club have been embarrassed sufficiently by all the negative publicity he's managed to generate through his authoritarian actions to over-rule him. Let's hope all of this support translates into numbers for the Cardiff and QPR games.
James. Posted 1 September 2010 Posted 1 September 2010 I read about the club's treatment of you while relaxing in a hippy village in the North Indian Himalayas and even in such chilled out surroundings I was infuriated by how the club have gone about this. Absolutely shambolic and embarassing. Have signed the petition. Good luck.
soulsister Posted 1 September 2010 Posted 1 September 2010 signed, shared via facebook and emailed.... Support the Fosse Boys
lcfc_jme Posted 1 September 2010 Posted 1 September 2010 Signed myself, finally! Sensational levels of support, to be fair.
Ultra Posted 1 September 2010 Posted 1 September 2010 Sorted. This is what I've said on there.. As a season-ticket holder in SK1 since the day the stadium opened, I fully support the efforts made by the Fosse Boys to improve the atmosphere in that section of the ground. It is deplorable that certain elements at the club appear to persist in treating them as hooligans, when they clearly are anything but. It's time this passionate, vocal, and incredibly dedicated group were given the support and respect that they deserve.
C-man Posted 1 September 2010 Posted 1 September 2010 473 signatures. Would be great if they could have over 500 in time for their meeting on Friday.
wc-remix Posted 2 September 2010 Posted 2 September 2010 Any of the Fosse boys planning on heading to either Leeds or Swansea away in October? Will be in the UK with a mate and we don't want to be catching the club bus with your mums, your dads, your long time flogs etc.
Ultra Posted 2 September 2010 Posted 2 September 2010 473 signatures. Would be great if they could have over 500 in time for their meeting on Friday. Up to 480 now. The target of 500 is well within reach...
Guest Bilo Posted 2 September 2010 Posted 2 September 2010 The Support the Fosse Boys group on Facebook has 497 members to date, and 500 would be a similarly significant milestone. We just need to make that last push. Support the Fosse Boys
Trav Le Bleu Posted 2 September 2010 Posted 2 September 2010 Mayor Ultra Does His Bit Lord Mayor of Leicester joins online petition supporting the Fosse BoysBy laura elvin The Lord Mayor of Leicester has joined nearly 400 people in signing an online petition supporting the Fosse Boys Councillor Colin Hall is backing the 50-strong group of diehard Leicester City fans who say they have been banned from the Walkers Stadium. The group is trying to crank up the atmosphere at the ground but say they were threatened with permanent bans and arrest at Saturday's game against Reading if they entered as a group. It follows about 22 letters sent to the club from fellow fans complaining about noise made by the Fosse Boys at a previous match. The club says it is unable to comment on the situation. An online petition in support of the group received almost 400 signatures in 24 hours. Lord Mayor Colin Hall, who is a big Foxes fan, said the club was "victimising" the group. He said: "I am completely in support of the Fosse Boys as there position is much like mine – they just want to support their club. "They have been victimised by the club for merely taking an active stance and I think that the club should have handled this far better." Michael Kelly, 26, a season ticket holder from Leicester started the online petition to show the club that other fans support the group. Mr Kelly said: "The success of the petition doesn't really come as a surprise. "The Fosse Boys have been given a great deal of support both at the games by people coming up and congratulating them and via the online community. "I feel it is essential that the club realise this, which is why I have started the petition. "The club see the Fosse Boys as a small group of customers that they can brush away, rather than a group of loyal supporters who want to get behind their team." The Fosse Boys are hoping to resolve the situation on Friday when they have a meeting with executive members of the club. Members of the group said they were overwhelmed by the amount of people who signed the petition. A 22-year-old Fosse Boys member from Market Harborough, who wished to remain anonymous, said: "We have been overwhelmed by the amount of people who have signed the petition. Thank you to them all." Female member Deb Breward, 46, from Shepshed, said: "It's just absolutely amazing and goes to show that how many people – not just us – think it's disgraceful the way we have been treated." This campaign comes just a few weeks after nearly 10,000 people signed a petition calling for club ambassador Alan Birchenall to keep his job. There were rumours that The Birch was being forced to retire on his 65th birthday. But the club eventually decided he would be able stay on in his £30,000-a-year ambassador role. All without his trousers falling down!
Wymsey Posted 2 September 2010 Posted 2 September 2010 Mayor Ultra Does His Bit All without his trousers falling down! Definitely!!
Ozwin Posted 2 September 2010 Posted 2 September 2010 Bloody hell the mayor's in on the act now? This has really got some backing now, the club can't ignore this.
phillthefox Posted 2 September 2010 Posted 2 September 2010 signed...... bring back the atmosphere to the kop . I was recently told off for swearing in the kop, by a steward who had a complaint from man and child , sure thats what the family stand is for ?
Houdini Logic Posted 2 September 2010 Author Posted 2 September 2010 I can't believe they used my quotes but didnt use the drawing of Barclay I sent them - I spent ages on that
1964FOX Posted 2 September 2010 Posted 2 September 2010 Bloody hell the mayor's in on the act now? This has really got some backing now, the club can't ignore this. He came and found us in the counting house pub before the Reading match. Had a good chat with him he was disgusted with our treatment and thT was before they stopped some of the lads getting in.
lcfc_jme Posted 2 September 2010 Posted 2 September 2010 He came and found us in the counting house pub before the Reading match. Had a good chat with him he was disgusted with our treatment and thT was before they stopped some of the lads getting in. He saw us being refused entry on the day, and then also found us in the Counting House pub after the game, as well. For all of the disagreements I've had with Ultra on here, the guy has been nothing but genuine and superb when I've spoken to him in the flesh. He obviously cares about what is going on with the Fosse Boys and it is superb that somebody as official and poweful as him has lent his support to the cause. Fair play to Ultra and credit where credit is due.
easilee Posted 2 September 2010 Posted 2 September 2010 Walking through town today and saw on a newsagent's Mercury advert board outside the shop. 'MAYOR BACKS FOSSE BOYS'. Was quite proud. Also, Gary Silke does the biz again. 2 write-ups in the same issue.

Stand UP... Posted 2 September 2010 Posted 2 September 2010 1,000 make it happen...... Just shows how much people want what the fosse boys have worked so hard to try and acheive...they have done everything in their own way but in a sence has bought the voice out of so many fans over the years who are pissed off with the atmosphere at the walkers, who wanted change, who wanted to stand and sing for their team rather then sitting down choppsin away. No dougbt it will be 1000 strong by tomorrow evening.....the nonsence with the 22 should be put against the 1000+ who are with!...22 is a cover up anyhow and one that has gone badly wrong for the club, a smoke screen blown back in their face's.
