Sousa's signings

Sousa has brought is 5 players all of them in positions where we have capable players:

Moreno: CB or CDM already have 2 good midfielders Wellens and King, Oakley is suspect so fair enough, then he plays in defence probably are strongest set of players before sousa

Vitor: CB Don't think he speaks English we'd signed him before Moreno the why buy another CB

Abe: CDM Apparently a classy player but doesn' fit in a 442 system at all maybe suggesting a move to 433. Only picture taken with new owners boosting the image in Asia

Moussa: Mid Why we need a fifth cenre midfielder god knows.

Waghorn: ST I have a suspicion the owners bought him because Mandaric sayed this signing will plaease the fans he had his picture taken on his own.

Crnic: Anyone seen him play

I have to disagree...

I think we're moving towards the 4-2-3-1 formation. We had no defensive central midfielders in the squad so needed two (only one to start, but two for competition purposes), hence the signings of Moreno and Abe.

We had only 2 centre backs in Tunchev and Hobbs, hence the signing of Vitor and possibly Zayette.

Lamey was brought in to compete with Morrison at right back (Neilson is sh*te).

Moussa will compete with King for the attacking central midfield role.

Crncic is one the future I believe.

For me, the Waghorn signing only makes sense if we bring in a slightly younger version (still experienced though) of Howard on loan.

The squad is then complete. Fryatt and Oakley are then retained if the formation needs to change to 4-4-2.

In my opinion!

None of Sousa's signings in terms of the position they play have been a waste at all.

If you look at who left in the summer (Brown, Bruce, McGivern, Spearing, Solano, Vaughan, Kermorgant, Waghorn, Adams and DJ) and what we've replaced them with, it's at the very least sensible.

We have bought in another left back to replace McGivern in Kennedy (albeit a Pearson signing) Vitor has replaced Brown, Moreno has replaced Bruce and Lamey has replaced Solano.

Yuki Abe has replaced Spearing, Moussa has replaced Adams and Crnic has replaced Vaughan. Waghorn has come back for Waghorn, he's replaced himself. Lovely then.

That actually leaves us a man down with Yann going on loan. So all of our signings have been badly needed and if anything we've not improved on last season, which is why we're going to find it harder to compete this 2nd season.

Couldn't agree more. Especially about the 4-2-3-1 suggestion..

The "signings" issue is completely unfounded. I have no concerns with his signings so far. I think playing Moreno at the back was a mistake but I still think he will be a capable DM player. The Crnic guy seems to have been a slight gamble as they may have seem some raw talent. Hopefully, he is a gamble that pays off eventually. I think the other signings have been needed and pretty decent really.

The only Sousa concerns I have, was the poor start but more so the rumours of players unrest and transfer requests, however, with the window shut and no players leaving, other than DJ, I feel slightly more confident and I think Waggy and Abe coming in were good bits of business. Saturday is a fresh start for us!!!

well moussa is a winger and moreno is primarily a defensive midfield player so your abit wrong there pal

Moussa's preferred position is attacking midfielder although Southend played him wide a lot probably due to his age and inexperiene.

Moreno is playing CB even though he's a defennsive midfielder

Disagree. All players have been brought in to positions which are suspect. These areas needed addressing, heightened by the fact that the loanees left.

Moreno: CB or CDM already have 2 good midfielders Wellens and King, Oakley is suspect so fair enough, then he plays in defence probably are strongest set of players before sousa

Disagree. Are you suggesting that the defensive players are now worse under Sousa? People call for Morrison at CB and yet he's untested there under both NP and PS. Brown has left a big hole which is being filled in by a DM. Berner looks knackered and yet Neilson has looked rejuvinated. I don't see what you're trying to get at.

Vitor: CB Don't think he speaks English we'd signed him before Moreno the why buy another CB

This is simple. Moreno isn't a CB as you have previously stated. Brown left the club. Morrison is untested at CB and Tunchev is crocked. Either you stick Berner or Neilson in a CB role or you play three at the back. Neither is feasible. And we still need another CB even if Tunchev regains fitness.

Abe: CDM Apparently a classy player but doesn' fit in a 442 system at all maybe suggesting a move to 433. Only picture taken with new owners boosting the image in Asia

Disagree. How can the conclusion be made that a player cannot fit into a 442 system when no-one has seen him play in English football? If he's classy, he should be able to adapt to a variety of positions. That's what classy players do.

Moussa: Mid Why we need a fifth cenre midfielder god knows.

We need a player who can play a variety of positions accross the midfield. Whether he is up to it or another Adams, wait and see but I don't see the point of criticising this.

Waghorn: ST I have a suspicion the owners bought him because Mandaric sayed this signing will plaease the fans he had his picture taken on his own.

MM: "Waghorn will please the fans". Top: "I'll get the cheque book out, how about 144 million Thai bhat?" MM: "Yes, do that, Sousa will be pleased. I'll fetch my Canon." lol

How far fetched is this?

Crnic: Anyone seen him play

No.
