Edmund Posted 11 September 2010 Posted 11 September 2010 You can't help but feel his days are numbered. Being dropped for an emergency loan keeper surely can't do his confidence any good. I personally thought he was a steady replacement for Weale and from the goals he's conceded, he hasn't been at fault.

Salieri Posted 11 September 2010 Posted 11 September 2010 Feel sorry for him to be honest, he's been here for a very long time without ever being given a fair crack. Could be a decent keeper, more likely for a League One/Two club. Needs to move on for the sake of his own career.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 11 September 2010 Posted 11 September 2010 Don't feel sorry for him. If Ikeme's a better keeper than him, Fair do's. Logan's had a dodgy few games, and someone else should of been given a chance.
bigneville Posted 11 September 2010 Posted 11 September 2010 He didn't look interested in the warm up at all today.

He's never been given a sustained run in the side recently because he's blooming terrible. He spent 4 years well overweight which meant he was terrible on crosses and was always beaten from range. Now he's slimmed down he's still duff on crosses and still gets beaten from range.

Never said he was particularly good, competent at best.

I would like him to be given a run in the team, as personally I think he is a good number 2 to have round.
fleckneymike Posted 11 September 2010 Posted 11 September 2010 What has he ever done to suggest he's a good back up? He concedes on average over a goal a game. He's conceded 3 on five occasions for crying out loud.
Corky Posted 11 September 2010 Posted 11 September 2010 I do feel a bit for him. I can't recall any glaring errors but he doesn't fill me with too much confidence. It was good of him to stay and fight for his place but as you say his time with the club could well be up.
Thracian Posted 11 September 2010 Posted 11 September 2010 Don't feel sorry for him. If Ikeme's a better keeper than him, Fair do's. Logan's had a dodgy few games, and someone else should of been given a chance. Where's the evidence that Ikeme's a better player? Logan's not let us down at all - and arguably saved the match for us at Leeds. Ikeme had one slow-paced shot to save today and let it in. Had that been Logan someone would have been on saying he didn't make enough effort. What we have is a competent Academy graduate replaced by an indifferent loanee - great - and such brilliant psychology. Well, we'll see. But yes, Logan should take the hint and follow Gradel. He should have done it a year ago cos there is life after Leicester for our graduates. Gradel played a part in Leeds winning goal today that saw them into the play-off places (and clinched my accumulator, bless him)! . Oh yes and Wesolowski scored for Peterborough as they came back from 2-0 down against Oldham to win 5-2 and sit proudly on top of Division One.

Joe. Posted 11 September 2010 Posted 11 September 2010 I think he gets a pretty raw deal from our fans. I can't recall many glaring errors from him that have cost us games, and he usually steps in well enough when we need him. Oh, and that performance at Birmingham away in 2006 will never be forgotten.
fleckneymike Posted 11 September 2010 Posted 11 September 2010 Well there were pretty vital clean sheets at Barnsley and Preston when we were saving ourselves from pending relegation for a start. You mean the relegation we were actually safe from before Worthington took charge? You mean the 5 games where he did indeed keep two clean sheets but then also let in 8 goals in the other three games? Just because he's an academy graduate doesn't mean he's actually any good. In his two games this season he's conceded 5.

fleckneymike Posted 11 September 2010 Posted 11 September 2010 If you were at Burnley you'll know he couldn't do a thing about any of the three. I was at Burnley. I think people misunderstand his critics. We're not claiming that he keeps on dropping the ball into his own net or dives the wrong way it's his organisation of the back 4, and general failure to command his area. 'Good' goalies make up a back 5, poor ones make up a back one. Logan falls into the later.
Guest DavidJCW Posted 11 September 2010 Posted 11 September 2010 We badly need a second good goalkeeper to challenge Weale in the goal... Personally I'd like to see Logan Bailly here... young Belgian International goalkeeper who plays for Borussia Monchengladbach. Perhaps out of our league? Maybe not. He'd certainly do the job though. He's looked solid every time I've seen him play in Belgium and for Belgium...
Thracian Posted 12 September 2010 Posted 12 September 2010 I think even you would agree that graduates from our Academy that have been moved on have, in the main, not set the world alight? Most Acadamy players from every club in the country don't set the world alight when they move on. The failure rate is appalling, for various reasons and a condemnation of the present set up in so many ways. But of the serious departures I'd say that Stearman has done as well as could have been expected at a higher level, Gradel was looking a real threat when I watched him at Leeds, Wesolowski scored yesterday and has helped lift Peterborough out of the doldrums to the top of Division One. O'Grady has been consistently top scorer at Rochdale - who knows if he might do the same higher up? - and I'll be interested to see how Sheehan does now he's rejoiined Swindon having helped them do well enough last year. As for our current Academy lads, unbeaten winners of their league last season, they appear to still be rotting with nowhere to go once they graduate. So don't try and persuade me that Leicester City get the best out of their young players because they don't.In fact once they're away from Beaglehole and co they often seem to hit the buffers. Indeed King is the only one who has noticeably emerged for two seasons, despite our kids being so demonstrably capable. Brilliant eh! But never mind. We've always got the foreign legion taking their potential places - when they are cleared to play, not injured, or capable of winning a place in the side on merit and so on.... We're a month into the season and there wasn't a single one of our new foreign signings "setting the world alight" in our team yesterday. Not that I've not seen any evidence that the ones who are here, fit and available will set the world alight anyway...and certainly not yesterday's goalkeeper.
HonradaRaposa Posted 12 September 2010 Posted 12 September 2010 If Logan was any good we wouldn't have brought in a number 2 from another team. He is rubbish.
Jimmy Posted 12 September 2010 Posted 12 September 2010 Logan is as underrated as Fryatt is overrated, that said, he's 24 now and still not managed to nail down the no 1 spot here, probably time for him to move on, make a fresh start else where and build a respectable career. He could easily become a respected Championship goalkeeper but it won't happen here
MC Prussian Posted 12 September 2010 Posted 12 September 2010 For some, Logan is just a piece of dead wood that has survived all these recent times of turmoil at the club. I think he's held up well during the years and deservedly holds the Number Two spot, even if it's an unthankful position. I'd also say that he's quite improved his positioning and reflexes and suffered his loan spells rather well. Keep in mind that keepers reach their peak much later compared to players on the other positions, so he has his four to five golden years only to come.
Matt Posted 14 September 2010 Posted 14 September 2010 I'm not 100% confident with Ikeme in goal but i'm a hell of alot more confident with Ikeme in goal than Logan.

I don't rate the guy, flaps, and is soooooooo ssssssssssslllllllllllloooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwww to get the ball out, his distribution wasn't up to much either kicking it out or down to the other goal keeper several times. He should also have stopped that cross from going inhe had time to make a cup of teas and still get to it. I can't see that he's an improvement on Logan.
