Really looking forward to Saturday it'll be a real honour to watch our club play the worldwide talents of a QPR side who let's face it have virtually already won the league. Hope our lads can hold it together and put up a decent fight and don't get phazed against the amazing quality they are about to face. It honestly feels like a glamour FA Cup 3rd round tie and it's a mockery of the football league ladder that us two clubs can end up in the same division. Buzzing for saturday just hope they go easy on us and I can be proud of my team come 5pm.

The sad thing is that their fans probably won't see you're taking the piss.

Not that it's easy to see or read anything with your head inserted six inches into your rectum.

I think we're going to have to sacrifice a midfielder to follow Taarabt around, and go man-to-man with him. As he can pop up anywhere, this is going to involve a lot of discipline and a lot of running, so not really sure who would fit the bill.

Morning Chaps.

Nice forum, like it a lot! Interesting thread here full of ridiculous overconfidence from both sets of supporters..!

I'm a (level headed) QPR fan, and yes we have our own board but I always like to read opposition fans opinions etc, players to look out for etc. I felt I needed to voice another sensible opinion as there has only been one from our lot so far!

I think its safe to say that we've been pretty surprised and impressed with our start this year. I certainly wouldn't say we've had an easy set of fixtures - Brammal Lane and Portman Road are traditionally guaranteed losses for us, while M'boro beat us 5-1 at home last year. However, evidently some fans are getting carried away and unfortunately those are the sort who like to come onto other fans message boards and big up how good we are, somewhat overconfidently. I think it just sets us up for a bigger fall, which will come soon enough inevitably.

I've been to the games this season and we are a different entity to last year, honestly. Last year we had the skill, but not the team, and certainly not the grit / bottle that is required in this league, which is why it went so pear shaped! I used to hate Warnock, but he is a top, top manager in this league and when he is on your side you grow to love him. Over the summer his signings weren't entirely inspiring at the time (except Taarabt, who I couldn't believe we got on a 3 year deal), but they truly addressed our needs. The signings were also very shrewd financially, with the max spend on our 7 new signing probably around £2-3m, whilst I see Waghorn could end up costing you £3m alone. Taarabt at <£1m seems an unbelievable steal in comparison! Players like Kenny, Clint Hill, Derry, Mackie all work their absolute socks off and do the dirty work which now allows our flair players to shine. The team is built around Taarabt, and he has been superb thus far, while our defence looks pretty mean this year too.

That said, we aren't going to walk this league and I fully expect us to slip up soon (and indeed after 12 years as a QPR ST holder I fully expect the wheels to come off entirely!). The Walkers is always a tricky trip, and after the Cardiff result, it could well be our first loss, granted.

The key for you will be to shut down Taarabt (though in doing so you can easily underestimate Ephraim, Mackie and Faurlin / Buzsaky (as Alejandro is likely to be out). In every game so far the first goal has been absolutely key. Take the lead and I think you could well win, or draw at worst (a la Derby away), but if we get in front it will cause you to have to attack and we are liable to destroy you on the break, as we have Sheff Utd, Boro, Ipswich, Barnsley etc. The game we play makes that first goal hugely hugely important to how the game will shape up.

I like Leicester, they've always been a good side and it was a shame when you went down under Ollie. I like Sousa too and think he was unfairly treated by us, though at times the football was the most defensive, boring stuff I've ever seen. I think he leant a lot from that though and has come on a long way. Anyway, you lot certainly taught us a lesson twice last season, but hopefully our boys (well those who remain at least) will remember that and put it right this year. One things for sure it looks like a cracking match-up on paper.

I'll be the first to come on and say well done if you turn us over on Sat, so ignore all those who are overconfident. If we play as we did against Derby you'll take the points, if we play like we have in all the other games I can't see you getting much. Home teams have to attack, and that suits us.

Finally, whilst some are getting carried away, can you honestly say that if Leicester had had the start we have had (won 5, drawn 1, lost 0, 5 clean sheets and 17 goals), that your fan base (or a decent proportion of it) would not be doing the same? Christ, both these teams have had to put up with some utter tripe in recent years so I will certainly enjoy it while it lasts, and why not? Saturday will be an interesting one though, and may the best team win, as they say!

Thanks for your opinion, its nice to know that there are some sensible qpr fans who come on here with sensible views and not after a reaction from the regular forum users

Excellent post. We haven't taken the lead in any game so far this season, so that bit in bold worries me a touch!

Paulo seems like the sort of manager who isn't afraid to change a winning team if he felt a need to. He will be wary of the attacking threat shown by QPR and as strange a decision as it may seem I can see him dropping wellens for abe and sitting Oakley and Abe in front of the back four... maybe he would hope to nick a 1-0 with an Abe free kick....

I suspect a 2-2 draw, or a narrow 3-2 win to either side.

We had 10+ shots on target both against Coventry and against Cardiff, do we are bound to score a bucket load against someone - maybe that someone is QPR. Plus, QPR are alsoa big attacking threat themselves, so I'm guessing a high scoring game tomorrow.

0-0 it is then

Agreed.

If we can keep on him he will definately get frustrated.

Very emotional player who will get himself in trouble if hounded.

Tomorrows game will be the toughest test for both sides, can't wait to be there.

I'm confused. Do you have a split personality cos in another thread you were saying that it doesn't matter what side we put out we'll still lose :dunno::huh:

Yes, almost like the derby match but leicester have to be careful not to give a penalty away. I think we've had 5 so far this season lol.

A team from London having arragant fans I am so surprised. Expect a tough game tomorrow I will go for 2 1 to the Foxes. Waghorn and Dyer to score.

Posted

Head-to-head

• These clubs have met 50 times in the league, and 10 of those matches have ended in draws.

• Leicester did the double over QPR last season, beating them 4-0 at the Walkers Stadium.

Leicester

• Fifty of Leicester's 90 goal attempts this season have been on target.

• They have won 59 corners - more than any other team in the Championship.

• Leicester are the only side yet to score first in a Championship game this term, and have conceded the opener more times than any other team in the division (five).

• A goal for Matty Fryatt would be his 50th in the league for City.

Queens Park Rangers

• QPR have conceded only two league goals this season - fewer than any other Championship team - and have have kept clean sheets in all but one of their six league matches.

• Tuesday's victory at Ipswich was their second successive 3-0 win and their third of the campaign. They also beat Barnsley 4-0.

• They have scored more penalties this term than any other side in the division (five).

• Matt Connolly is set to make his 100th league appearance, while Clint Hill is in line for his 400th league start.

you can bet warnock will shackle king which may stop us playing our game-love him or hate him warnock is a good manager & has always done a good job at most of the clubs he's been at

heart says a city win as we played so well last night but head says a draw

you mean like dave jones admits cardiff tried to do?

Really looking forward to tomorrow especially after Tuesday night.

The Reading game was also an exciting and entertaining affair. We've had a couple of nice matches to watch.

More of the same tomorrow, hope it's not a drab, dull affair. I seem to remember one or two of those V QPR at the Walkers.

This just shows how a little knowledge is a dangerous thing.

1. Leon Clarke is not good enough to get in the team. He is a sub. Has not had a starting role yet.

2. Ramage was only a sub. Bradley Orr is our right back - we now have Kyle Walker on loan from Tottenham as replacement.

3. Mackie - 6 goals in 6 games. Best record in the division.

Try a little research!

if that's true, then you must be a bleedin ninja
