ThurnbyLodgeFox Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 Do you reckon he would do a good job, and could he be our next manager if he is?
LCFCkid Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 He reminds me of chris houghton for some reason
Finnegan Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 He reminds me of chris houghton for some reason ....... sigh.
Wymsey Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 He reminds me of chris houghton for some reason Nah Chris P got more enthuasism than that depressing sulky northern chap.
davieG Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 He reminds me of a guy that is totally new to any form of football management.
walshmaster44 Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 I think he would sort the defence out and get them playing as a team.
Wdywd Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 I think we'd probably make the Champions League in 18 months if he was manager. Get rid of the foreign.
Chrysalis Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 I think he would be better than sousa, he would at least I expect try to revert to how NP did things and stop this possession/passing rubbish. So I think we would stay up under him but not so confident we would be top half of the table. Whoever the next manager is assuming sousa goes at some point is now going to have tough work as the team confidence is/will be shot. This is the danger of giving bad managers time. The more they have the harder it is to turn round.
ollie_patterson Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 i think he is probably more respected than Paolo Sousa.... but then again i could be completely wrong. he is probably a good coach but don't know if he is ready for management.. i get the feeling if we gave him the job, he would end up doing a Rob Kelly - in saving us from the drop, getting the team clicking but by then it will all be too late to push for promotion.
Webbo Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 This has occurred to me during the day also. I just don't think he's got enough experience yet to take a chance on. He's only had about 4 games as reserve team manager. It's a shame Gerry Taggart's gone really.
1964FOX Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 I don't think he could cope with the two arseholes who are upseting the apple cart behind the scenes.

What works in Spain, Portugal, Italy in warm weather and dry pitches isn't necessarily going to work here. We can't make this work in September, what chance have we got in January and February?

darko2k7 Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 Maybe with Gerry Taggart as his right hand man it could work
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 Really love Chrissy P with his enthusiasm and coaching abilities, plus Micky Stowell's too - however, I don't think either would be viable alternatives for the current 'predicament' - yet anyway.
Webbo Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 You're right, no teams have pulled off passing football in this country. Whatever, Sousa can't make it work.

The style of football is not the problem, i welcome the change as we really have watched some dour stuff over the years. it's the players he's picking to try to play it. He's not a genius, he can't transform players like neilson Howard and Oakley to play a different way. Hrs messed up by not bringing in good enough players to play alongside our able players.
Thai Bride Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 I don't think he could cope with the two arseholes who are upseting the apple cart behind the scenes. oh I could cope!

Hrs messed up by not bringing in good enough players to play alongside our able players. nelisen has been a million times better under sousa? the problem is our strikers not scoring and our defenders making mistakes. sousa isn't the problem, the problem is in the application. Howard and fryatt have missed from yards out, that has nothing to do with the manager it's to do with being ineffective at things they are more than capable of doing. morrison getting skinned, hobbs not picking up players on set pieces. as sousa says, the palyers are being asked to make decisions and they are making the wrong ones. maybe they aren't good enough, but at least we've got owners now to bring in players who can do a job. sousa hasn't been afraid to drop players who aren't performing, trouble is, there is too much inconstancy for him to keep on top of... eg, howard has a good game, sousa starts him, he plays like a donkey, oakley plays the game of his life, next game he plays like a cvnt... they're not a team i'd care to manage.
