STUHILL Posted 1 October 2010 Author Posted 1 October 2010 Both would end in disaster so I voted Sven because the prospect of him in Leicester just makes me laugh. haha I think both will be a success. They are no fools and they will get results
Webbo Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 A successful manager never goes back to the club he was successful with in the past for a second spell. it will end in tears. I respect his achievements, but I don't like O'Neill. He wasn't [and still isn't] a likeable bloke. Abso' flippin' correct. Sven is also a great manager, I can't believe anyone is unhappy with this.
haraven Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 MON is a walking legend, Sven is a walking swedish chef-voice joke.
Callabinho Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 Mon, if he came back I'd put my student loan on promotion, that's the impact he would have! Mon, if he came back I'd put my student loan on promotion, that's the impact he would have!
Ozwin Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 Both would end in disaster so I voted Sven because the prospect of him in Leicester just makes me laugh. Why are you always so negative?
Chairman of the Bored Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 Sven? Well, er....you must be fecking joking. Will rip off the club, will bring in shit, will take the piss, will bring Ulrika. If this happens I fear my 43 year love affair with the club will come to an end.
Heskey2011 Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 Both would end in disaster so I voted Sven because the prospect of him in Leicester just makes me laugh. Can't believe this Sven is a top class manager, what he did with Lazio is still talked about in Italy, And had a mint record with England as well. He's desperate to gain credibility after some poor international appointments, he'd put everything into Leicester if he was lucky enough to get the job. Please Sven get involved!!
chappers_lcfc Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 what's happening with o'neill? all i've heard about is sven so it looks like o'neill was a non starter anyway

Sven isn't known for his long term commitments though. If he comes I will be surprised if he lasts beyond this season. He is too big for Leicester City, so if something slightly better comes along he will jump ship.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 what's happening with o'neill? all i've heard about is sven so it looks like o'neill was a non starter anyway Don't rule it out yet. I've heard something suggesting that O'Neill is more likely to be coming back.
Kent Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 Don't rule it out yet. I've heard something suggesting that O'Neill is more likely to be coming back. What have you heard? I'm open to speculation.
chappers_lcfc Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 Don't rule it out yet. I've heard something suggesting that O'Neill is more likely to be coming back. I hope your right would love him back here! the best news i have had in years if thisd actually happens
doughnut Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 Don't rule it out yet. I've heard something suggesting that O'Neill is more likely to be coming back. Oh come on u cant just leave it like that!!! PLEEEEEAAAAAASE TELL MORE!
howsyourfather Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 If I was in charge of the discussions with Martin O'Neil i'd walk into the room and strip the flesh off of my forearm like Arnie does in terminator 2 just to show how serious i am about him coming back, "martin, now listen very carefully"
dandannieldanok Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 Why are you always so negative? !? I've been more positive than 90% of this forum about Sousa and our current predicament. You need to be less selective when picking on someone's posts. MON would be a disaster because there is no way he could recapture that magic and he would tarnish his iconic image here. I'd be horrified if he came here and did poorly and ruin the memories. Sven would just be a totally strange appointment for a few pertinent reasons. This is one: Sven isn't known for his long term commitments though. If he comes I will be surprised if he lasts beyond this season. He is too big for Leicester City, so if something slightly better comes along he will jump ship. Another is the style of football he plays. Continental style, likes the ball on the floor...........sound similar to a certain P.Sousa? Another: Is he a motivator, a galvaniser? Everyone was complaining at Sousa in the Pompey game for not bellowing instructions on the touchline. Sven is notoriously one of the most reserved managers in the history of football.
chappers_lcfc Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 If MON comes we would win the Carling Cup! he aint coming .. no source just my gut feeling though I would it if he did

cc_star Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 MoN is a legend, I'd like to keep it that way They always say you should never return, perhaps they say that for a reason.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 MoN is a legend, I'd like to keep it that way They always say you should never return, perhaps they say that for a reason. Agreed. I would worry that, given the present set up, he would be likely to tarnish his reputation. I would also worry that people would have stupidly high expectations of him should he return. He achieved what he achieved last time with decent support from the boardroom and more money than our incoming manager is likely to get now. And as for Sven, no. His style of football is not unlike Sousa's, so I don't know what everyone is getting excited about. 4-4-2? Players getting the hairdryer treatment if they play badly? Keeping a settled team? Not things I associate with Sven, yet this is what all the Sousa critics have been calling for. For me the answer is neither. There's no decent answer out there at the moment and all the managers I WOULD like are at other clubs with better set ups than us.
Zingari Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 I think that we are going to appoint someone like Pardew and claim that he is first choice and beat off stiff competition from MON and SGE
BoneDog Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 True, they do say you shouldn't go back, but this is no mere mortal we're talking about. It's Martin O'Neill !! He'd have Cheltenham in The Premier League in four years without a budget.

Finchy Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 I just think O'Neill would work wonders with players like King, Hobbs and Waghorn, that's why I want him, not because he's a legend here. Looks like it's Sven though, which i'm still not sure about mainly because his last 2 years have been awful, who knows what's going to happen here.
