Jason Roberts another Mirror rumour?

He would probably have made it to at least twenty last season if not for being assaulted by the Doncaster player which would have put him in amongst the top scorers in the division. Thirty is probably a step too far though.

Some people just love to hate, buddy. Which is funny because those people tend to make out that Fryatt's held up as some sort of Messiah by whole swatches of demented City fans. Which is sort of hypocritical given how narrow minded the aforementioned persons tend to be.

Bottom line is he's just a fairly decent, average striker at this level and I think most of us recognize that.

How long are we playing this young footballer card then?

He's a gonner, accept it move on there will be better players than him coming along soon

Er, well, he arrived here as a twenty year old from the lower leagues and is still now a few years below his prime?

I don't have to, the stats do't lie in his career as a Championship striker he has scored 1 goal every 5 games, get over it.

Hahahaaa it's because you know that i'm right. Since we were promoted he has averaged a goal every 2.5 games at this level. His record during our dreadful years before we were relegated was shocking and i'll give you that but i'm more interested in what he does in the present.

The Fryatt thing on here annoys me some times though. People complain all the time about the lack of loyalty in football but Fryatt would have been well within his rights to walk away from this club several times, especially during and after the Allen/Holloway season. People like to include the two bad seasons in their criticism of him, but seem to overlook that he also overcame that to go onto be our top scorer for two consecutive seasons.

We may go on to bigger and better things and if better players come in a will be happy, however he has been a good servant to the club in an era when we have had very few.

Whatever you think of Fryatt, we sure did miss him on Saturday. Howard and Waghorn carried barely any threat as a strike partnership. At least with Fryatt the ball sticks up front because he can control a ball and hold on to it. He's the best of a pretty weak attack.

Jason Roberts, not in Blackburn side or on the bench !!!! For Blackburn's home game against Sunderland (Monday Night Sky Game) 18/10/2010.

At this level Howard scores 1 in 6 while Fryatt is scoring around 1 in 5, that by even the kindest of margins is fookin shite.

Sven will have Fryatt and Howard bounced out the door in January and hopefully our doors will never be darkened again by such lower league rubbish.

Its a shame we cant bounce you out of here mate

New to the forum but just heard a whisper that Sven is looking at a loan deal with a Bolton player called Tom Eaves ? - think he's a big young striker but stand to be corrected

Yea he's a tall young striker, broke through at Oldham and subsequently got a move to Bolton.

Scored a hattrick against Bolton in pre-season didn't he and then they signed him.

Sorry, but those stats do not impress me one bit, it would be nice if they were wrong, but they are not and when Howard and Fryatt are gone no one will remember them as Unforgetables.

Interesting how Jason Roberts got his first run out of the season in the league as a half time substitiute for Blackburn, he hadn't even featured as a sub untill then. Either means one of a few things I reckon:

1. Sam Allardayce has realised that Sven rates him therefore thought he must be better than he thought, sounds silly but makes sense

2. It could be playing him so that come January he can get a higher price for him

3. Linked to two could have decided that he may well be going in Jan, so is giving him a last chance to show Big Sam what he's made of

All the same, I feel our interest has provoked a reaction. Watch the space i guess!

I saw an interview with Roberts recently on SSN.

You could tell he still rates himself as a premier league player and is probably holding out to see what offers he gets in January.

If he had been genuinely interested in coming to us he would be here already i would imagine.
