sdb Posted 14 October 2010 Posted 14 October 2010 i've always thought he's pretty average really. would be decent for us at this level sure, but tbh i don't see him being streets ahead of Waghorn or Fryatt.
fosseman Posted 14 October 2010 Posted 14 October 2010 i've always thought he's pretty average really. would be decent for us at this level sure, but tbh i don't see him being streets ahead of Waghorn or Fryatt. I'd expect him to play alongside Waghorn or Fryatt rather than instead of them. My main worry is the lack of match fitness as he hasn't played much, if at all, this season. However, it will be interesting to watch what happens.
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 14 October 2010 Posted 14 October 2010 MBE... And that doesn't mean massive bumhole engineer.
Brenfox Posted 14 October 2010 Posted 14 October 2010 Never rated this guy much. Think we could do better
cambridgefox Posted 14 October 2010 Posted 14 October 2010 Would be good if true, but if i took too much notice of signings i read in the mirror/sun we would have a 100 man squad. His goals to games ratio at this level is very good
xplicitmaterial Posted 14 October 2010 Posted 14 October 2010 Not my cup of tea but if he comes in and does the job till jan, 500k is a nice price
Ric Flair Posted 14 October 2010 Posted 14 October 2010 He would be ideal. He has pace and power and knows where the net is at this level. 32 isn't a bad age and he'll come with a point to prove, he's got his head screwed on. He's upset us on a few occasions over the years from what I can recall. GEWON SVEN.

I think Sven is clued up that we need a partner of similar quality as Waghorn and we'll see a new striker arrive in a couple of weeks if not sooner
Trav Le Bleu Posted 14 October 2010 Posted 14 October 2010 I loved him in Once Upon a Time in the West.
TheUltimateWinner Posted 14 October 2010 Posted 14 October 2010 Isnt this going to push fryatt out? Still great signing though
Chairman of the Bored Posted 14 October 2010 Posted 14 October 2010 I thought his half time input at the Swindon / Gas match on Sky last Monday was good
paddy Agyemang Posted 14 October 2010 Posted 14 October 2010 New Leicester boss Sven-Goran Eriksson would like to sign 32-year-old Blackburn striker Jason Roberts on loan, with a view to a £500,000 permanent deal in January. Full story: Daily Mirror another rumour from bbc.co.uk
bettso Posted 14 October 2010 Posted 14 October 2010 Isnt this going to push fryatt out? Still great signing though If there is any substance in this, I hope it happens before Saturday. If it's a tight game going into the closing stages, this bloke would make all the difference. Hull's centre backs are not particularly physical so Roberts would bully them all over the place and has the additional pace required too.
dandannieldanok Posted 14 October 2010 Posted 14 October 2010 No thanks, hope it's a bullshit story. We've got the money to go and get strikers a lot younger and better than someone who hasn't scored goals consistently for years and years now. We can do better.

Lillehamring Posted 14 October 2010 Posted 14 October 2010 good track record, and if he can come straight in flying then likely to be a more useful inclusion than howard. so maybe a short term loan however, i can't see him being the sort of player we should aspire to if we expect to get promoted or be competitive in the premiership.
Guest TheBear Posted 14 October 2010 Posted 14 October 2010 This for me is a good short-term option for the side at a reasonable price if what is written is accurate, I'm pleased we're being linked with this sort of player! Nice one Sven!
lcfcsnow Posted 14 October 2010 Posted 14 October 2010 So long as he's being brought in in Howard's place, I'll take almost anything right now. The situation needs sorting if we're to start progressing.

Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 14 October 2010 Posted 14 October 2010 I remember he was very good for Wigam, though that was a few years ago. Though he could still be a good player especially at this level.
ajthefox Posted 14 October 2010 Posted 14 October 2010 Never been a massive fan but I think he'd do a job for us.
