David Guiza Posted 16 October 2010 Posted 16 October 2010 48hours and should be a done deal according to Stringers tweet
fox123 Posted 16 October 2010 Posted 16 October 2010 Or that you haven't hit up the gentlemen's club scene in Leicester for some time. @ gentlemans club. The only decent thing about that place was the Chinese bird who did naked splits upside down!
Guest Mee-9 Posted 16 October 2010 Posted 16 October 2010 @ gentlemans club. The only decent thing about that place was the Chinese bird who did naked splits upside down! Sounds like the half time entertainment that's planned for the Singha Stadium next season, No more Birchenall.
Jay Posted 17 October 2010 Posted 17 October 2010 we seriously need something more upfront and Roberts is probably the ideal sort of player we are missing, we had nothing to offer upfront yesterday
Ricey Posted 17 October 2010 Posted 17 October 2010 Am I the only one that doesn't want him? His goal-scoring record over the last few fears is poor.
cc_star Posted 17 October 2010 Posted 17 October 2010 Waghorn is a good player and Fryatt is ideal backup. The weak link is Howard, he gives 110% but it ain't anywhere near good enough for a supposed promotion hopeful team. It's been a while since I've seen Roberts play but I don't recall him being a great holding the ball up so if Roberts comes in to replace howard and partner Waghorn/Fryatt we'd need to change our whole pattern of play... and if he comes in to partner the big man then that's is crazy as we already have Waghorn/Fryatt/N'guesson/Gallagher
lcfc81 Posted 17 October 2010 Posted 17 October 2010 http://twitter.com/ianstringerbbc Might be happening
Guest shearfox Posted 17 October 2010 Posted 17 October 2010 http://twitter.com/ianstringerbbc Might be happening Would be good if it happened in time for the Leeds game...
Guest ttfn Posted 17 October 2010 Posted 17 October 2010 Am I the only one that doesn't want him? His goal-scoring record over the last few fears is poor. No, you're not. I think we have plenty up front as it is. Yesterday was just unfortunate as Fryatt, Dyer and N'Guessan were all out. Up front is one of the last places I'd be looking to improve, least of all with a journeyman centre forward.

All we have up front is Howard (not prolific and nearing the end), Gallagher (More a creative player than goalscorer), Waghorn, & Fryatt, dyer and n'guessan are wingers. We can't rely on Waghorn and Fryatt to get the bulk of our goals, paticularly when the defence don't look like chipping in and only dyer and king provide goals from the midfield. We need another striker who can get us goals. Not jason roberts though. I'd rather look at someone like charlie austin or craig mackail smith or a young lad trying to break through into a prem side (nathan delfounso? (sp))
Karljohn Posted 17 October 2010 Posted 17 October 2010 Am I the only one that doesn't want him? His goal-scoring record over the last few fears is poor. Don't really want him either, he's bagged loads with Ellington alongside but without him he's ordinary. A real long shot but maybe Beckford from Everton? not really cutting it in the top flight.
lcfcsnow Posted 17 October 2010 Posted 17 October 2010 I'm not keen either but I'll take him as a quick temporary fix, Howard's times up.

Adster Posted 17 October 2010 Posted 17 October 2010 Because he's shit He's not shit really though is he.
SMX11 Posted 17 October 2010 Posted 17 October 2010 Jason Roberts is a proven goalscorer at this level. He has power and pace. He would be a menace in Championship, we certainly need someone in this mould.
Leicester_Loyal Posted 17 October 2010 Posted 17 October 2010 He's not shit really though is he. Hes not shit, but hes a good Championship striker at best.
Adster Posted 17 October 2010 Posted 17 October 2010 Hes not shit, but hes a good Championship striker at best. Agreed there.

Guest BlueBrett Posted 17 October 2010 Posted 17 October 2010 Maybe he could do a decent job at this level. Certainly wouldn't be a signing in the same league as the two Sven has already made though. I know everyone thinks we are desperately in need of a striker but to be honest I would prefer a pacey winger at the moment.
Leicester_Loyal Posted 17 October 2010 Posted 17 October 2010 2 weeks ago I would have said this signing, along with Robert Pires would have been brilliant. However, now we know the signings Sven is capable of making, so I think we can do a lot better. Isn't it brilliant having a world class manager in charge of your team
Salieri Posted 17 October 2010 Posted 17 October 2010 So even Stringer can't spell Martin O' fucking Neills name right, thought he was supposed to be a sports journalist?
