Petchy Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 Certain people need to learn to find the 'manage ignored users' option if they can't cope with someone having an opinion that's different to theirs. Thats fair enough but when that said member disagrees with everything anyone says just for the sake of it, that's when you realise they are doing it for a reaction.

Houdini Logic Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 So giving them a reaction is a bit pointless, surely? Yes but we've all been there - realise he's simply trolling and don't bother replying, but the next noob comes a long and it starts all over again...

hackneyfox Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 He has a different opinion and doesn't excuse players because he likes them. That doesn't make him a troll. He's one of the better posters on here. There's nothing wrong with healthy debate.

Lord Fox Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 I keep changing my mind about Fryatt. when I think he's crap he comes up with a goal or two. maybe Sven will sort him out. It would be good to se him get a couple of games under Svens guidance to see how he goes. He's definately got something, lets give him a chance Fryatt is a confidence player, the game against Norwich (and others in the past) have showed this, he gets 1 (and a bit of confidence) then number 2 comes along. Now should he start on Saturday, it's hard to say. Is is better than Howard (who would have started if Fryatt was still unavailable) again hard to say as he is a different player altogether but given the choice I would play Fryatt out of the two, with Fryatt's goal ratio be it 1.3 - 1.5 - 1/200000 (HonradaRaposa I don't really care, so DON'T bring it up again or start trying to correct me, I’m really not interested in anything you have to say, I’m just using this to get my views across) he's still scored more than Waghorn or Howard and over the course of this season (if given the chance) he'd probably will/would again. The whole team collectively since Paulo's departure has looked more settled and IMO has the hallmarks of a team now wanting to play for the manager. our performances now speak for themselves and we seem to have stopped shipping so many goals. I know Curtis and Naughton have both added to this, but from where I was sitting in the stand, we looked a lot better even for just the one game before Sven’s arrival under Chrissy P and Mike S- hopefuly Fryatt has bought into this attitued as well and also wants to play for Sven, his team mates and LCFC as a whole, and if he has, he will score goals!

city4lyf Posted 21 October 2010 Posted 21 October 2010 I think the sooner we sell Matty the better. He is not at Championship level and does not have it in him to bag a few every game. People will diagree but thats what i think
STUHILL Posted 21 October 2010 Posted 21 October 2010 I think the sooner we sell Matty the better. He is not at Championship level and does not have it in him to bag a few every game. People will diagree but thats what i think Bag a FEW every game?? I don't think many players have that in them. I would like to see how he plays under Sven. If there is no real change after 2-3 games, then I agree, his days are numbered.

People will diagree but thats what i think For christs sake he was our TOP SCORER last season (and the previous one too) and was injured for half of it! Whether you rate him or not I think this a bit harsh.
The Doctor Posted 21 October 2010 Posted 21 October 2010 So do you have your doubts about him now or are you going to be making a snap judgement based on 2-3 games under Sven? Or could it perhaps be that he's not making the judgements about fryatt, just if fryatt doesn't perform under sven he'll be replaced, just like anyother player.
STUHILL Posted 21 October 2010 Posted 21 October 2010 So do you have your doubts about him now or are you going to be making a snap judgement based on 2-3 games under Sven? I never make snap judgements. I'm basing my opinion on how he has looked this season so far and also his general contribution/work rate in games even when he hasn't scored. I think we are at a time now where we have the ability to bring in higher quality than we already have and I think Fryatt after 3 games out should be raring to go and he must have an impact in the next few games he plays otherwise someone like Miller or Roberts if we sign one of them, will be more than happy to force Fryatt to the bench. I am a fan of Fryatts, I have his name on my shirt but even I can see he needs to improve if he wants a future here.

Whether you rate him or not I think this a bit harsh. The lad doesn't rate him, that is his choice. He believe's as many do that Sven will replace many of the current crop with better players, where is the problem with that? Or are there certain players that can never be replaced and must stay regardless?

Or are there certain players that can never be replaced and must stay regardless? The Fryatt thing on here annoys me some times though. People complain all the time about the lack of loyalty in football but Fryatt would have been well within his rights to walk away from this club several times, especially during and after the Allen/Holloway season. People like to include the two bad seasons in their criticism of him, but seem to overlook that he also overcame that to go onto be our top scorer for two consecutive seasons. We may go on to bigger and better things and if better players come in a will be happy, however he has been a good servant to the club in an era when we have had very few. Views on the subject copied from a previous post. I have no problem with better players coming in and look forward to it. However the over-reactions of people on both ends of the spectrum do grate. He is no more or less than a decent championship striker. Maybe not good enough to score thirty goals but would get a game at plenty of sides in the league.
Houdini Logic Posted 21 October 2010 Posted 21 October 2010 So basically your indicating that anyone with a 1,000 posts or less is a 'noob'? Brilliant logic. Eh? How did you come up with that? It could be someone with 20k posts that just hasn't been around long enough to find out about the wonders of Honrada
Houdini Logic Posted 21 October 2010 Posted 21 October 2010 So do you have your doubts about him now or are you going to be making a snap judgement based on 2-3 games under Sven? I agree - only idiots make snap judgements after only 3 games with a new manager - ''Just puzzled as to why people would want to bring back a player who has contributed nothing while we have garnered 7 points and been unbeaten in 3 games''

lcfc_jme Posted 21 October 2010 Posted 21 October 2010 Fryatt is "meh" in my book. When he's on form, he's a quality striker and you only wonder what he'd be capable of or who he'd be playing for if he did it for an entire season. However, he has more average or bad games than he has good, is prone to looking extremely disinterested, wastes far too many "easy" chances and has a habit of taking too many touches / being too greedy when he has support in better positions. That's not to say he's the worst player at the club, but he's hardly the answer to all of our problems and sure as hell isn't irreplaceable.

But it's only working based on 3 games - the exact thing you're questioning about someone making a snap judgement based on 3 games. Bless you
