SOCCERROO FOX Posted 21 November 2010 Posted 21 November 2010 England to win first 2 tests. Australia to win 3rd test. Fourth test draw. Fifth test to turn out to be one of the greatest matches ever, with England coming out on top. Wishful thinking much? Fifth test would effectivly be a dead rubber as England only need to draw the series to retain the Ashes. Australia have got their priorities wrong if they're only playing that Doherty fella to get rid of Pietersen Not sure where you got the idea that the X-man has been brought in just to get rid of KP. The X-man has been brought in as Hauritz hasn't performed much at all over the last 12 months and Steve Smiths bowling isn't up to scratch (see the Australian A tour match), Ponting likes X-man his fellow Taswegian as he can tie up and end something Hauritz hasn't been able to offer the Australian. X-mans selection is a little left feild but not really as there is a shortage of decent spinners in Australia and Doherty will be the 9 spinner in the 46 months since Warnes retirement.

I heard Darren Gough mention something about Warne coming out of retirement http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/cricket/3231266/Ian-Botham-sticks-the-knife-into-Australia.html

With a new show were he interviews people and a burger he has his put his name to for Mc Donalds.

Yeah i posted the same thing 2 posts up. I would love Australia to win the ashes at 2nd home of cricket the G 4th test
Corky Posted 22 November 2010 Posted 22 November 2010 Le'ts hope that we don't put them in on a belter or the first ball ends up at gully
ozleicester Posted 22 November 2010 Posted 22 November 2010 I want a Shane Warne burger. just like a really good burger...but old and fat
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 22 November 2010 Posted 22 November 2010 Clarke missing out would be nice. Not if the selectors actually show some balls and pick Australias best batsmen Cam White
Daggers Posted 22 November 2010 Posted 22 November 2010 Pietersen will come good I like your positivity, not convinced though. Saw him during the Pakistan tests and he was woefully short of confidence, no way near the player he should be. I hope Freddie was right today and he is back on form.

Saw him during the Pakistan tests and he was woefully short of confidence, no way near the player he should be. I hope Freddie was right today and he is back on form. Yeh, i can't see him playing a big part. Though the selectors will keep picking him because he is who he is. They look a poor side and i can see us capitalizing on that. Key players need to play well consistently like Bell and Trott, we can't always rely on the opening pair but if we have a decent enough fall back then it will put us in a great position. Im going for a 2-1 win. First time in 25 years or so if we win in their place?

Bert Posted 24 November 2010 Posted 24 November 2010 England top run scorer - Pietersen. England top wicket taker - Swann. Australia top run scorer - Ponting. Australia top wicket taker - Johnson.
DMU Fox Posted 24 November 2010 Posted 24 November 2010 Swanny & Straussy to do the honours for England Ponting & Johnson for the Aussies. Really looking forward to this series, we've had a good warm-up with most if not all the key players taking wickets or getting a score. Compared to Australia who are coming off a 7 game losing streak (i think!) and have major questions being asked of them. However there is never a poor Aussie team in an Ashes series in Australia, they will come at us hard with a passionate home crowd, who will out-number a reduced Barmy Army. Im going 2-1 England with a win in the last test with us having to hold on for draws in the other 2. The key for me are the bowlers, if we can take 20 wickets in a game we'll be ok. Finn, Anderson, Broad & Swann all have to step up. As far as the batters are concerned KP needs to get runs & all the others need to make vital contributions. Either way it should be a cracking series!
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 24 November 2010 Posted 24 November 2010 Win with out Warnie Also Siddle has got the nod as the 3rd pace bowler ahead of Doug the Rug and Khawejia is on stand by if Michael Clarke can't get up.

Are you going to the Melbourne test? Win with out Warnie Also Siddle has got the nod as the 3rd pace bowler ahead of Doug the Rug and Khawejia is on stand by if Michael Clarke can't get up. And you're ecstatic about Sidds.
Fosse Boy Posted 24 November 2010 Posted 24 November 2010 Never been so nervous watching sport as I was that Sunday morning... Followed with one of the best sporting photos (and gestures) ever... Think I might get my Ashes '05 DVD boxset on.
