This is so frustrating, can't believe how lucky Australia have been in this first session. Break's come at a good time though, I think the bowlers felt as though they'd run out of ideas to get rid of both of them.

Pretty much questioning my own mental state sitting through this, I've got work at 9.30. Has it all been worth it?

No, no it really hasn't.

Swann is the biggest twat getting out Haddin after his been getting smashed all day and celebrating like he had taken a hat-trick....Swann = willy puller

Hussey is a jammy bastard. Well done to him and Haddin.

Congrats to Finn for the 6for

Pity about the Aussie tail falling to pieces under the marginal pressure.

Piss off then lol

Lets not play the "Where did all the Australians originally come from?" game.

Pretty glad I was so pissed when I came in last night that I didn't really realise the severity of how badly H&H were putting us to the sword. Give 'em their dues though, they were playing some gorgeous shots.

Watched the first hour, could not believe we didn't take a wicket (well we did but it was overturned), Anderson had Hussey all over the place and could hardly play him.

Fair play to them though for seeing it through and hitting us hard, big task on to save the game now.

Spoken like a true know-nothing braindead footie supporter gobsh_ite. Thank fcuk you know nothing about Cricket and stay well away. Stick to your 90 minute 'ball into goal' game before even contemplating engaging your brain into cricket mode again.

For the first time since the 80's I really felt there was cause for genuine optimism going into this away Ashes series.

How wrong could I be? Deer in the headlights.

Strauss getting out for sod all 3rd ball has set the tone, and I fear we may return home with only a couple of draws for our efforts.

I've been playing and watching cricket at lot longer than i've been following football idiot. So you support Swann celebrating like he had taken a hat-trick even when he finished the over when he got smashed around the park all day....shows how much you know about cricket tool!!!

For goodness sake this match is far, far from over!!! whilst it's incredibly unlikely, nigh on impossible, that we'll win, a draw isn't out of the question by a long way.

On another day we'd have bowled the Aussies out before lunch for a similar total. Anderson bowled fantastically and was incredibly unlucky beating the bat several times and had Hussey plum lbw, just unfortunate that Aleem Dar didn't get the decision right. Don't forget the first five Aussie wickets fell for 140 odd and the last five fell for about 30, they're far from invincible. Their bowling unit doesn't look world beating either, granted Siddle had an excellent spell on the first day but apart from that there's not been much to fear and in a few cases it was our batsmen getting themselves out rather than being got out by the Aussie attack. Plus, if we do manage to get a half decent lead say 175-200, the pitch looks like it's going to be a bit of a minefield with cracks opening up and the surface dusting.

Also, I think the GABBA was the least likely place we were going to win, it's been an Aussie stronghold for ages. We went 1-0 in 2005 to a better Aussie team than this and we didn't do too badly in the end!!!

The first two sessions tonight are crucial for this test. If the Aussies get a couple of quick wickets then England are fooked. (:fc: for this)
