Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 31 October 2010 Posted 31 October 2010 Demetri Martin is BRILLIANT. I used to have one of his entire albums on my mp3 player, absolutely love him. “I like when good things happen to me, but I wait two weeks to tell anyone because I like to use the word ‘fortnight.’”
Finnegan Posted 31 October 2010 Posted 31 October 2010 “I like when good things happen to me, but I wait two weeks to tell anyone because I like to use the word ‘fortnight.’” "I'm a washing machine, not a show you how I do it machine."
Kenners Posted 31 October 2010 Posted 31 October 2010 Went to see Ross noble at demont on thursday, he was brilliant. He is incredibly funny without relying on prewritten material and has the skill to return to previous tangents he has wandered off on and link them together seamlessly. The thing that sets him apart from other great standups like Peter Kay is that you could attend every date of his tour and each one would be different, with the exception of the odd anecdote. Definately recommended Edit: just seen shrenchels post. Dissapointing if true but still requires a fair bit of talent. I'd also assume that a fair amount of it is improvised imbetween the main jokes of his act depending on people/location.
FoxyPV Posted 31 October 2010 Posted 31 October 2010 Eddie Izzard hands down. Went to see him in the Odyssey Arena last year and I cried with laughter.

Finnegan Posted 31 October 2010 Posted 31 October 2010 “The worst time to have a heart attack is during a game of charades.” A squirrel is the same as a can... ... with a BB gun in my hand.
BoneDog Posted 2 November 2010 Posted 2 November 2010 I've never heard of most of the names in this thread. But I remember seeing Sean Lock (if that's the guy with the glasses) and Bill Bailey on tv once and they made me laugh.

BoneDog Posted 2 November 2010 Posted 2 November 2010 I like that video where he smashes a guitar on a hecklers head! They're all havin a laugh and then you can hear the atmosphere change! "let's sue this son of a bitch"

Parafox Posted 3 July 2011 Posted 3 July 2011 Frankie Boyle after seeing him in Northampton the other week... he doesnt give a shit!! Hundreds of lines were well and truly crossed! By far the worst stand-up I have ever seen. Crass, cheap, offensive, re-hashed material, He didn't get applauded to an encore, 2 mins of "polite" clapping thats all. waste of money

stix Posted 3 July 2011 Posted 3 July 2011 I went. It was good. Haha. We saw him a couple of years ago in birmingham. was funny as hell. This gig was ideal, nobody had to drive so we could all have a few beers. Am wounded. So thanks for that! Got Jack Whitehall still in october....... I think!!!!!!
