Michael McIntyre or Russell Howard easily. They're the only two that can make me laugh every time I watch them without fail.

Sean Lock, Rich Hall, David Cross, Lee Mack, Stewart Francis, Daniel Sloss, Frank Skinner (under rated beyond belief)

Some crackers. As far as big names over here go, Dylan Moran, Ed Byrne and Rhod Gilbert would all make the list for me as well, as would Eddie Izzard and Phil Jupitus.

Tommy Tiernan's a bit hit and miss with me. Some of his stuff is the funniest stand up I've heard while some of it is a little bit close to the bone.

But can't go without mentioning Christopher Titus, Lewis Black and Bill Hicks along with the absolute legend from across the pond:

Oh! Oh! And:

I could go on for hours. :D

Dearly departed stand-ups such as Richard Pryor and Bill Hicks have me rolling when I see their routines.

Warning: Contains swearing and 'robust' views. :D

Current funnies include Michael McIntyre, Rich Hall, Russell Howard and Jimmy Carr.

Before Thursday, Ross Noble was one of my favourites, maybe my favourtite. After seeing him though, he's just a clear favourite! Absolutely love the guy. Not many people can go on stage and do 3 hours with little to no material. If I went to see him tomorrow it'd be a completely different show and that's what is so amazing about him. Love him.

Went to see twice in the same run because a mate wanted someone to go with and I presumed it would be a completely different load of bollocks. It's really not. Some ad hoc business but in general it looks far more improvised than it actually is and he definitely tries hard to make written jokes look like it's some fvcked up tangent that's come off the top of his head. Bit dissapointing but he's still a proper talent.

The only 2 that i think are the best in this stand up profession is Peter Kay and an old one here, Tommy Cooper. The others are shambles.

Peter Kay was funny, once. Or maybe twice about 10 years ago. Don't get me wrong he was very funny one of the best but he did that and then lived off selling the same DVD in a different format for about 5 years. He doesn't have the longevity of the other. I've never seen Lee Evans live but he's done about 6 tours all of top quality comedy. And some of the new lot you call shambles tour every year with a fresh new tour, something Kay doesn't have in him. Kay is very funny but for me will never be one of the top stand up comics because he can't keep producing the goods.

Oh yeah, forgot I bought tickets to see Peter Kay at the o2 next April or something. His stand up used to be superb, hopefully he can still pull it out the bag for then.

A little un PC but I saw Chubby Brown in Blackpool about 20 years ago. A little stomach churning in parts but a great laugh.

Spike Milligan

Billy Conolly

Tim Minchin

Ricky Gervais

Adam Hills

Yeah Minchin and Hills are pretty decent from the sort of new wave of comics. Thought Minchin was just songs at first but since seen him on others things and he's funny bloke.

Really? Surprised at that, if it's true he does a bloody good job of getting to the topic he wants by whatever the audiences say! Still love him. Makes me laugh so much, even stuff that shouldn't even be funny. On thursday he did about a guy trying to get in the cinema by paying with a spoon, and he was just going 'spoon? ......no spoon' for about 5 minutes. Was ridiculous but everyone was in stitches.

Only ONE mention of Eddie Izzard and no mention of Harry Hill (I guess people forget he's a stand-up) :o Seen Harry 3 times at DMH and been excellent every time.

Criminal.

In recent years I've found Milton Jones to be hilarious. Oh and no mention of Emo Phillips yet!

And lest we forget...

Demetri Martin is BRILLIANT.

I used to have one of his entire albums on my mp3 player, absolutely love him.

Emo Phillips and Harry Hill are awful shouts, imo. Can't stand either. Milton Jones is hilarious, mind, I'll give you that.

Is Al Murray is considered a stand up comedian? :dunno:

Yep. I own one of his DVDs, hilarious.

One stand-up I saw when I was at uni had me in absolute stitches, can't remember his name though. His whole routine was basically just ranting about how much of a bitch Penny Crayon was. Brilliant. lol
