Raw Dykes Posted 4 May 2012 Posted 4 May 2012 For some reason, I can't edit my post here, but I wanted to add Doug Stanhope to my favourites. I'd forgotten about him. He was brilliant on Charlie Brooker's shows, and the video above is excellent. Stewart Lee, Ross Noble, Sean Lock and Doug Stanhope. http://youtu.be/ybQCNb4AuW4
Daggers Posted 4 May 2012 Posted 4 May 2012 Stewart Lee The only comedian I would go out of my way to watch or see.

God he sounds bitter and jealous. And he doesn't say anything funny He's just whining. I can see why people don't like those 3 but he's just moaning in a boring, unfunny way. Celebrities/people in media having a career and trying to make money from it? Why didn't he let anyone know sooner? So boring. He's not even made an effort.
Zingari Posted 6 May 2012 Posted 6 May 2012 I do wish I had seen this man live. me too i know comedy has a sort of duty to make us laugh , but it's so much better when it makes us think too
21st Century Fox Posted 6 May 2012 Posted 6 May 2012 me too i know comedy has a sort of duty to make us laugh , but it's so much better when it makes us think too I second this. There aren't many Carlin jokes that don't make you really think. He was amazing. If you like Carlin I highly recommend Louis C.K. Carlin was sort of his mentor and he's kind of taken up his mantle. He doesn't have the wordplay that Carlin had but he can make you laugh and think about really obvious everyday things that you've never thought to deconstruct much.
SystonFox Posted 6 May 2012 Posted 6 May 2012 how anyone finds tim vine funny is beyond me. just my opinion dont rape me for it. also his brothers a TWUNT
Orkneyfox Posted 6 May 2012 Posted 6 May 2012 Just found George Carlin on youtube, he should be compuslory viewing for all USA voters.
Rincewind Posted 6 May 2012 Posted 6 May 2012 I'm not sure if I have seen him, but on someones suggestion I have updated a line in an old poem, 'You may have to listen to another Jim Davidson joke' To Tim Vine. I am now also following him on Twitter and messaged him to to inform him of the mention. He has a place on his website where he replies if you add your email address so I've sent him a link to my poems. Even if he is crap he may be good for publicity. My friend said that anything with Tim Vine in will be news. Also changed Michael Jackson to Lady Gaga.
ozleicester Posted 7 May 2012 Posted 7 May 2012 Perth Comedy festival this week... off to see... Stephen K Amos and Hannah Gadsby.

Rincewind Posted 7 May 2012 Posted 7 May 2012 He is funny in parts but goes on a bit on the same subject. I can see where he is coming from though. I have seen him as guest stand up and is better in a shorter routine.
