Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 1 November 2010 Posted 1 November 2010 I've skimmed through this topic, I have to say some of it is fairly jaw dropping...and I don't mean Richie's comments (although they were a bit daft too). I'm astounded that people think he's shite...dumbstruck in fact. He's one of those guys who has always got time on the ball, thats not something you can manufacture, it's one of the signs of a classy player - which is exactly what he is... He'd be one of the first names on my teamsheet, along with Kingy in CM...Abe looks tasty mind.
ajthefox Posted 1 November 2010 Posted 1 November 2010 Wellens is just stating the obvious but he should really have just kept his mouth shut.
Joe. Posted 1 November 2010 Posted 1 November 2010 Wellens is just stating the obvious but he should really have just kept his mouth shut. Why?
Simmo86 Posted 1 November 2010 Posted 1 November 2010 I think most peoples problem with Wellens game is the more or less constant killer balls that he tries which rarely come off. He is a decent midfielder, but he's neither godlike or completely shite, which some people on here would have you believe.
sdb Posted 1 November 2010 Posted 1 November 2010 i read the article earlier and thought nothing of it. now i'm reading 6 pages on him being racist and shit!! this place never fails to amaze me.
Micky Posted 1 November 2010 Posted 1 November 2010 I would expect that anyone on here labelling Wellens as racist could expect a libel case. Yet again I am witnessing brainless people on this forum.
markbsac Posted 1 November 2010 Posted 1 November 2010 there all looking over there shoulders..they know that if they dont step up to the mark they will be gone as players will be brought in there is no doubt about that its clear the owners are prepared to buy there way out of this division...and i love it !

markbsac Posted 1 November 2010 Posted 1 November 2010 why? at last we have some money to get rid of the average players and buy some quality.....we have to realise we are now prepared to step up a level to get us back to the level we should be at, the prem..

But buying a team isn't going to work. We have a good spine, we need to build a team around the quality we already have. If you think 15 Santa Cruz's are the answer then you are wrong. Besides IF he was to come he wouldn't be here for long. Where's the fun in supporting a bunch of mercenaries? I'd much rather support a team with Richie Wellens, Steve Howard and Jack Hobbs in it than a team with David Beckham and Roque Santa Cruz in

Seriously? Not taking the piss like?
davieG Posted 1 November 2010 Posted 1 November 2010 You'd seriously rather watch Steve Howard than Beckham and Santa Cruz? Seriously? Not taking the piss like? We've just bought Howard for an extra year so plenty of watching of him to do yet.

I agree we need to get a bit more quality, but we need to get it gradually, not all at once. I'm just abit concerned Sven might try and buy a completely new team in January, or worse fill the teams with loanees which will make the good players we have got unhappy. I'm not too sure about Santa Cruz TBH, he's a very good player but Iv'e always thought him a little lazy. And if he is a success how long will he be here for? Like I say when he goes back we will be left with unhappy strikers who haven't been picked and the team spirit might be hampered. If anything, you could say that this article highlights that some of the players are concerned about the same thing
Kitchandro Posted 1 November 2010 Posted 1 November 2010 You'd seriously rather watch Steve Howard than Beckham and Santa Cruz? Seriously? Not taking the piss like? Steve Howard gives everything for this club and I feel like he feels a part of something. This is a part of the enjoyment in going to see my team. Last season, I really felt the squad and the fans were united. They felt part of a special place. And I felt a rapport with them. You think Santa Cruz would ever feel a part of the club here? NO - just like everyone at Man City - he would be here for his paycheck and to make himself famous/put himself in the shop window.
Roy Cropper Posted 1 November 2010 Posted 1 November 2010 We've just bought Howard for an extra year so plenty of watching of him to do yet. C'mon davie, don't put a downer on such a cheery thread....
Corky Posted 1 November 2010 Posted 1 November 2010 We've just bought Howard for an extra year so plenty of watching of him to do yet. Triffic news.

By scoring a shit load of goals to get us up the table.
markbsac Posted 1 November 2010 Posted 1 November 2010 santa cruz will only be a loan player according to reports..but if any player would not welcome a player of his calibre to strenghen the team and help us get up the league..then those players are also only thinking about them selfs !
Kitchandro Posted 1 November 2010 Posted 1 November 2010 By scoring a shit load of goals to get us up the table. In theory He wouldn't be here long enough to get us promoted. Basically, that's what we are saying, we'd be gambling on us getting promoted this season.

Players want to play football though. Players get unhappy when they don't get any game time, especially when they feel they should be. This is just natural. I'm saying that Santa Cruz isn't in it for the long haul. It's not really just one player but I fear we may be getting a bunch of Santa Cruz's if you catch my drift.

Guest ttfn Posted 1 November 2010 Posted 1 November 2010 Wellens shouldn't be telling Sven how to do his job. He's built many sides before. That's the only thing wrong with this.
conradno1 Posted 1 November 2010 Posted 1 November 2010 oh god i put he was racist earlier (with a smiley face hopeing people would no it was a joke ) went out ,came back read these pages hope people didnt take me seriously i was just putting that he thinks its weird he eats chinese before a game and i bet abe thinks its weird he eats pasta wellens=no racist wayne brown=racist
