Pegosteve Posted 18 November 2010 Posted 18 November 2010 come on guys you;ll have to help me out with this one...mine was a rotten evening game v Blackpool the wether wes absolutely evil ....the ground was so sodden but the ref refused to call it off...no way wd it get played these days... Rodney Fern was playing and a shot of his was so certainly goal bound that he turned away in celebration only for the ball literally to stick on the goal line....it was the biggest farce ever and ended 0-0 - year anybody? It would have been around 70 sthg ive been to better Tuesday 31st March 1970!!!
BoneDog Posted 18 November 2010 Posted 18 November 2010 My first match was Leicester Millwall in 1991 I think. Maybe the end of 1990. It was 1-1 and I freakin loved it in Pen 2 or 3 whichever it was. I can't remember my first away Leicester game but the first one I can recall was Notts County in the ZDS northern semi I think. It was peeing down and we had packed out there massive away terrace. Awesome night. Forest away in the next round (northern final?) was a good experience too.
The Doctor Posted 18 November 2010 Posted 18 November 2010 Was the first game at the Walkers the one we had to vote for Leicester City or Leicester Fosse? Or am i way off? Ahh sweet, was that the one we won 4-0? aye, Feb 2003, won 4-0 hat-trick from dickov and one from tricky trev.
Sparky Posted 18 November 2010 Posted 18 November 2010 Opening day 1986, City 1 Luton 1 , Alan Smith with our goal.
Martin Hendo for god. Posted 18 November 2010 Posted 18 November 2010 Opening day 1986, City 1 Luton 1 , Alan Smith with our goal. August 1973 and we beat Man U one nil. I watched from the luxury that was the Filbert Sreet end. Shilton wore a white top with red nips painted on. Wortho scored and have been hooked ever since. Best had just gone walkabout and United went down that year. Oh happy days
Guest Mee-9 Posted 18 November 2010 Posted 18 November 2010 LCFC vs Man City, I was about 4, ended 0-0. Think we were in the double decker stand. Remember Nicky Weaver playing in goal for them. Remember walking round the ground and seeing the BBC vans for the first time.
Asha Posted 18 November 2010 Posted 18 November 2010 For Leicester, First home - 2-1 win against West Ham - December 2000. Izzet & Savage. First away - 2-1 win against Coventry at Highfield Road. McKinlay & Scowcroft. But my first ever game was at Meadow Lane, watching County beat Wycombe 2-1.
LeicesterLuke Posted 18 November 2010 Posted 18 November 2010 Walkers Stadium vs Aston Villa (Prem season) 5/6-0 defeat. Yet im still a true blue
z-layrex Posted 18 November 2010 Posted 18 November 2010 My first game was seeing Leicester beat Everton 2-0. My only memories are hugging my grandad during a goal and being scared of the shouting grown-ups .
conradno1 Posted 18 November 2010 Posted 18 November 2010 leicester 5 -1 sunderland collymore hatrick heskey and oakes free kick i think phillips scored for them
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 18 November 2010 Posted 18 November 2010 November 1987 Swindon at home - won 3-2 after being 2-0 down with a late winner from Mark Venus. This great comeback enabled me to keep going on and on about the game at Primary School to my mates and was hooked ever since !! Didn't know any of the opposition players or some of ours (I hadn't even heard of), but remember thinking our good old Gary Ford on the wing was class !!! Us or them had a man sent off. We had David Langan on loan at right back from Oxford and always remember having had hundreds of panini swaps of him. Oh them memories.
conradno1 Posted 18 November 2010 Posted 18 November 2010 leicester 5 -1 sunderland collymore hatrick heskey and oakes free kick i think phillips scored for them any1 no the year?

conradno1 Posted 18 November 2010 Posted 18 November 2010 Do you mean 5-2? Was 2000 yeh that 1 not seen a better match since
Wymsey Posted 18 November 2010 Posted 18 November 2010 yeh that 1 not seen a better match since Remember the 4-4 game at Tottenham or even the Forest home game last season?(!)
conradno1 Posted 18 November 2010 Posted 18 November 2010 Remember the 4-4 game at Tottenham or even the Forest home game last season?(!) iv missed 3 games in the last 4 seasons at the walkers and they were forest and scunny last year , and norwich 4-1 the year we went down thats my luck
Kitchandro Posted 18 November 2010 Posted 18 November 2010 Remember the 4-4 game at Tottenham or even the Forest home game last season?(!) TBF the 4-4 was a bit disappointing from our point of view cos we were 4-3 in front til late on. The Forest game was great for the atmosphere more than the game.
marbelladave Posted 18 November 2010 Posted 18 November 2010 Last game of promotion season. City were champions of league 2 with a game to spare. The opposition formed two lines and clapped us onto the field of play, at Filbert St, they then beat us quite handily on account that half our team were already pissed. (that is not quite what my dad said) Can't for the life of me remember who we played but I can remember seeing the team presented with the trophy on the pitch at full time, a shield as I recall. Can't remember much of the game, probably slept through a good part of it.
body102 Posted 18 November 2010 Posted 18 November 2010 Can't remember my first game , started going down in 1975 . the memory i can recall is leiester scoring direct from a corner against man u . Alex Stepney was in goal for united and i think we lost the game 3-2
Pegosteve Posted 19 November 2010 Posted 19 November 2010 My first game was seeing Leicester beat Everton 2-0. My only memories are hugging my grandad during a goal and being scared of the shouting grown-ups . Was that Lineker's first game for Everton and Mark Bright (his replacement) scored twice? 1st game of the season.
Finnegan Posted 19 November 2010 Posted 19 November 2010 Watford, home, 1994. 4 - 4. Agnew on the program. Edit: Just checked. I always thought this was '94, I'm actually a few days out. It was actually still the 27th of December and thus 93!
chesterfox Posted 19 November 2010 Posted 19 November 2010 Tuesday 31st March 1970!!! cheers Pego...10 years old ffs!!!!
Stig the Lawnmower Posted 19 November 2010 Posted 19 November 2010 here we go. liverpool october 13th 1962 (thank you fossils and foxes) went with my brother on the train from Lutterworth. Got there early so we could get a seat on the front row in the double decker, cost about two shillings I think (10p), and watch the ground fill up. never been a smoker, but the smell of the cigarette smoke drifting through the crowd stays with me even now and still evokes memories of filbo. As a ten-year old I was awestruck and hooked forever. In those days the whole day was an adventure, from running up and down the corridoor on the train, the run to filbo, and the mad dash back to the old central station to get the train back. Wonderful! And the score? we won 3-0 goals from Gibson, albert Cheeseborough and Crossy
