If it comes to the worst, you can always tell your kid's that their presents are too heavy and amazing for Santa to carry at the moment so he may be a little late

my kids are in their 30's

i doubt if they'll fall for that

Everything I've ordered recently has taken its time to get to me, but it got here eventually. Pretty sure it's the same with anybody at the moment, doesn't look like they're coping at all well with Christmas this year. Still waiting on some DVDs from Play to arrive which I ordered over a week ago.

Don't think the weather has helped orders being delivered. Think they have a back log from when we had that real shitty weather a couple of weeks ago.

My missus has ordered a few things. Some got delivered today, some we're still waiting for.

Blame Royal Mail. And the snow.

I doubt Amazon can do much about it once the packages have been handed over to them truck drivers.

Btw, all my parcels have arrived in time or are about to arrive... 700 miles Southeast of Lestoh.ph34r.gif

But get yourself yer own plane, dammit!

They can't - which is why I'm blaming Trav.

My friend bought £180 Ugg boots for his Girlfriend off Amazon for Christmas, they delivered it to the wrong address and he couldn't get them back or get a refund lol

Also waiting on three orders all with delivery estimates of 11th December, ordered over two weeks ago.

Just had this email through from them.

Dear Customer,

Ensuring that you receive your order in time for Christmas is our number one priority.

The recent weather conditions have resulted in backlogs across the entire UK for our delivery partners, but we are in constant communication with them and are working around the clock to make sure that orders with an estimated delivery time before December 24, arrive in time for Christmas.

We are currently experiencing an increased volume of e-mails and phone calls into our customer service centre. This is causing delays to our usual speed of response but rest assured, we are working through all enquiries in order of receipt.

There are some useful self-service links that allow you to see the details of your order and its current status. You can access these by visiting Your Account.

If your order has already been dispatched via a trackable method, please use the tracking information on your confirmation e-mail or in 'Your Account' to track your delivery via the relevant carrier website.

If your order was dispatched via a non-trackable method, please rest assured that your item is on its way to you now.

If your order has not yet been dispatched please check 'Your Account' regularly where you will find the most up-to-date information regarding dispatch dates and estimated delivery dates.

We appreciate your patience and understanding.

With kind regards,

Brian McBride

The Royal Mail South-West distribution centre is the root of a lot of problems apparently - but they are only sorting the stuff coming in now and not the backlog of mail from before the weather struck. Which is nice of them. I'd have though a FIFO system would have made the most sense, but then that has never been in the RM's unique set of skills.

The sooner the whole thing is privatised the better. Incompetent bastards.

privatisation ? if the railways are anything to go by , i can't fookin wait

keep postman Trav in our hands and working for queen and country !!

edit;

i complained to Amazon about not receiving an item and now i've got 2 come through the door

i suppose they'll want me to send one of them back

Placed about 12 orders last Saturday with 5 different retailers.

The 3 orders placed with Amazon are the ONLY ones that have not arrived - and the only ones without tracking. All the stuff was stocked by Amazon too - not 3rd parties..

Don't know if I will use them again - not worth the stress. Gonna have to get off my arse and visit an actual shop on Monday or Tuesday if they don't arrive.

I'd like to see other firms taking a 2nd class letter miles up a dirt road for a few pennies. I was a postman many years ago and I know how good the royal mail is.

The post office has its problems but I very much doubt privatising it will improve the service much, the only ones that might see improvements are businesses.

Apparently, according to the bloke that runs the postie near me, there is a big tent full of amazon stuff at the sorting office in Leicester waiting to be delivered.

Look.

It's a big river and it meanders quite a lot. And it has to supply water to so many people. Not to mention the abundant flora and fauna, both within it and along it's banks, that depend on it for their survival. Give it a break will you, it's got it's work cut out!

Used to think they were good but had major hassle with them recently, the couriers they use are crap. Was out when they tried to deliver and got a calling card, not saying who the parcel was for or from (not just me who lives here...) so had to do some detective work to even see if it was from the expected Amazon order. You cant call them and ask to redeliver advising of a safe place to leave it, or a weekend delivery as they dont work weekends, and you cant speak to an actual person anyway TO tell them, you just go round in circles on an automated answer thingy

The only way seemed to be to collect it from their depot, which a) takes the erm...mick , when youve paid for delivery, b) was out of the question as they only opened something silly like 9-5 and was I heck taking time off work to collect it and c) the depot was in Warrington!!! a good 30miles from where I lived. :o

Many angry emails back and forth to Amazon later (well, no way to contact courier themself) I cancelled it , yet they still kept leaving calling cards

Bit of an essay lol but this was the edited version of how much hassle / incompetency there was and its safe to say I wont be using them again... Pah!

Had one or two problems with Amazon in the past, rarely order anything from them nowadays unless they've got a sale running. Too many times I've ordered products listed as 'in stock' when they aren't.

Pretty much anything I'd fancy from them is available from Play anyway, who I've never had a problem with.
