Guest BlueBrett Posted 18 December 2010 Posted 18 December 2010 Vassells been fit for 8matches played 8matches scored one goal al let you make your own mind up! By his own admission he wasn't fully fit when he signed. In fact wasn't today the first time he managed a full 90 minutes? I am definitely willing to give him more time to settle in properly given how little football he had played in the months before we signed him. Also he has had a second goal dubiously ruled out. As far as Kirkland goes, he is better than Weale but not by enough for him to be considered as a long term replacement. I think we should send him back in Jan and look for other options. If there is nobody suitable available then I have no problem at all with standing by Weale until the summer.
dannythefox Posted 18 December 2010 Posted 18 December 2010 Rooney hasn't scored a goal from open play since March, would you write him off? Vassell has looked sharper with every match he's played, scoring his first goal last game will help. If you get the 'Sven's old boy' chip off your shoulder you might realise Darius could be a very good acquisition for us, at this level at least. I never said he wouldnt be good for us did i? what i said was if he plays good or bad he will still play dickhead.
StanSP Posted 18 December 2010 Posted 18 December 2010 He is a quality keeper... and certainly better than Weale. His injurty record is meaningless now, if he is fit he should be our first choice. A history of injuries isnt really relevant...im only interested in what he does for the future, for us. It is relevant if the injuries keep coming back to keep him out of the games now!

Like i said kirklands not the answer get someone else in.

The Doctor Posted 18 December 2010 Posted 18 December 2010 His fault for first goal, way too slow reacting, only good thing coming out of him is his kicks. Enough said. when norris let fly there were 4 or 5 players between him and the ball, don't know if you've ever played as a keeper but when your vision is obscured like that and the ball comes through them all, you only really see the flight of the ball once it's almost upon you. You need shit-hot reactions to save that.
dannythefox Posted 18 December 2010 Posted 18 December 2010 Read what you wrote, 'dickhead'. He might come good in the future but we need someone who is scoring NOW and hes not correct me if am wrong please.
The Doctor Posted 18 December 2010 Posted 18 December 2010 He might come good in the future but we need someone who is scoring NOW and hes not correct me if am wrong please. you're right, it's not like prior to tonight we'd scored 14 in our last 7 and only failed to score in one of those matches.
dannythefox Posted 18 December 2010 Posted 18 December 2010 you're right, it's not like prior to tonight we'd scored 14 in our last 7 and only failed to score in one of those matches. How many goals have come from strikers this season?
Corky Posted 18 December 2010 Posted 18 December 2010 Could've done better with the second, little chance with the others.
The Doctor Posted 18 December 2010 Posted 18 December 2010 How many goals have come from strikers this season? in all comps (40 goals scored): 19 from strikers (47.5%) 15 from midfield (37.5%) 5 from defence (12.5%) 1 own goal (2.5%) in the league (31 goals scored) : 16 from strikers (51.6%) 12 from midfield (38.7%) 3 from defence (9.7%)

Salieri Posted 18 December 2010 Posted 18 December 2010 And without pens? If you're that bothered, look it up yourself you lazy cvnt.
The Doctor Posted 18 December 2010 Posted 18 December 2010 And without pens? in all comps (35 goals scored): 14 from strikers (40.0%) 15 from midfield (42.8%) 5 from defence (14.3%) 1 own goal (2.9%) in the league (26 goals scored) : 11 from strikers (42.3%) 12 from midfield (46.2%) 3 from defence (11.5%)
STUHILL Posted 19 December 2010 Posted 19 December 2010 Can't be judged on tonight's performance. If he can stay injury free then he will be a great keeper for this level.
Swalker Posted 19 December 2010 Posted 19 December 2010 Even though the conditions were stupid, he made no decent attempt on any of the 3 goals. 1. He is injury prone 2. He made no attempt to save the goals Can't see why he was chosen above Weale
THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 19 December 2010 Posted 19 December 2010 Did he not dive for the first 2? Your point 2 is bollucks The shots were right in the corners, most keepers would struggle getting down to those on an ice rink
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 19 December 2010 Posted 19 December 2010 Horrific game for a goalkeeper to make his debut in - give him chance... Couldn't agree more
Stadt Posted 19 December 2010 Posted 19 December 2010 Did anyone see the save Craig Gordon made yesterday?
B52 Posted 19 December 2010 Posted 19 December 2010 Under these conditions I would rested him. But it will be better when the defence know how to cover for him.

bettso Posted 19 December 2010 Posted 19 December 2010 Even though the conditions were stupid, he made no decent attempt on any of the 3 goals. 1. He is injury prone 2. He made no attempt to save the goals Can't see why he was chosen above Weale Same reason Cunningham is chosen over Berner, Davies and Vitor over Hobbs and Morrison, Vassell over Fryatt. He's better than Weale.
Chrysalis Posted 21 December 2010 Posted 21 December 2010 His fault for first goal, way too slow reacting, only good thing coming out of him is his kicks. Enough said. took the words out of my mouth, it was like he was in slow motion. Same problem with 2nd goal as well. the slow dive is due to a weak unfit body? also noticed him injured at end of game. the keeper position needs consistency so I repeat kirkland is no good to us.
