Leic 2-2 Leeds

Our home attendances are quite bad, in addition to poor ticket pricing there is the horrendous stewarding and general sterile atmosphere.

I know so many fans who have totally given up going to home games and now just do aways.

That's Football full stop, currently. The days of teams rolling up at your gaff, your crowd being up for it from off and a little bit of menace in the air are gone. When they do come occasionally, the coppers I'll stick the game the season after to a noon kick-off or failing that SKY will pick it and placing it on a Monday night.

Because whenever we play away, that team generally has their highest attendance of the season.

8k above your seasonal average today. You're only here, to watch the leeds :scarf:

You seem to forget you've been playing in the tinpot third division for the best part of half a decade. You're in a league that matches your size, now, most clubs don't give a shit. Derby, Coventry and Forest are relatively big pulls for us - Leeds are just another side.

There's a big attendance today because, erm, hello? It's Boxing Day.

Why is it every time we play Leeds we get some Leeds disabled signing up arguing over attendances. Who gives a shit?

At the end of the day, Leeds being a much bigger city has piss poor average attendances considering the population of their city is nearly twice that of Leicester :flowers:

We're a big club! We are! We are! Really! We are a big club! Honest! We're so big! So, so big!

:appl: to Sven for changing the game and getting Howard off with enough time left. Now don't start him again.

Definitely agree, a guy was on the phone in saying how Howard doesn't suit the system, doesn't win nearly enough in the air and offers very little in the way of fluid football. Point well made if you ask me.

I'd like to see Bednar given a decent run if he stays fit. I know he still has a lot to prove to the LCFC fans but he's big, strong, and decent in the air and on the ground. I reckon he's a very good option. Anyone agree??

Most clubs don't give a shit  Then pelase tell me why 9 of the 12 teams we have played away have experienced their highest attendances :P ?

And why you had another 8 thousand more come out to watch us play compared to your average. That can't all be attributed to boxing day, can it

Leicester has 280,000 people, Leeds 720,000, 10% more attendance from nearly 300% people is nothing to brag about

Tbf I was hardly bragging, someone asked a question and I answered it. It seems as though others have more of an issue with a bumper attendance being related to Leeds coming to town.

Yes.

Very much so.

Now's you're going to make me smile by equating Leeds to Leicester, aren't you :P

I'm not meaning to be obnoxious but your inferiority complex is shining through.

I agree. He's not played a whole game for us yet so he needs more of a chance to show us what he can do. Good result in the end where it looked for all the world the game was lost. Really need to follow it up with a decent result now so we're in touching distance of the play offs when the window opens.

Only because you're just simply being delusional. Because it's so hard for you to get your head round the fact that some random midlands club, miles from Leeds, couldn't give a toss whether or not you're "in town."

Yes, probably more people would turn up to watch Leeds than Accrington Stanley. That doesn't make you the be-all and end-all.

Er, why are you on here? I'm assuming Leeds have their own forum?

And you obviously still have an issue with throwing away a 2-0 lead. Bit bitter, are we?

Equating Leeds to Leicester how, exactly?

And what inferiority complex? I have no complex at all. I, like most Leicester fans, am well aware of our club's stature and am quite comfortable with it. We're a fairly unfashionable midlands club with reasonable support, good facilities, a modern ground and a decent, mid-table squad. We have no derby, per se, or totally fierce rivals but we do have fairly hotly contested games with our East Midlands neighbours.

In contrast, almost every Leeds fan I have ever known (in person or on the internet, and believe me there have been a few) seems to suffer from the same condition as the majority of Geordie supporters. A sense of entitlement and a 'lady-doth-protest-too-much' determination to remind the world how big, great, famous and fantastic they are (and how much everyone cares about you / hates you.)

Sorry, chap, but you're just... another Championship side. You're loud away from home, that's about your only claim to fame these days. Sorry. If that's not good enough for you then I suggest you stick to watching Premiership years from the early nineties and getting off on nostalgia.

Edit: Oh. And the only City fans I know that have any particular issue with Leeds are generally just unhappy about the years and years your fans spent coming to Filbert Street and the Walkers singing racist chants. If that's something you want to be proud about then, er, your business?

As an average Elland Road is about 75% full this season, compared to our ground which is about 71% full on average. Not a big difference, especially when the big difference in population size (as mentioned above) of the two cities is compared.

But obviously the attendance today was full of people who only went to watch the mighty dirty Leeds :chant::trumpet:

Leeds were the better team until around 65 to 70 mins when we (LEICESTER CITY) got started and we deserved to draw however its not good enough really is it? mid table i think if were lucky enough, im not being doom and gloom but in all honesty were about as consistent as something that isnt very consistent - we cant play in cold weather clearly and although we MUST be the best footballing side in the division when we get going it takes them 60-70 mins to start playing - not good enough!!! However come on the City, lets sing our hearts out at every game from now to the end of the season and see what happens - heres hoping, fingers crossed etc. :scarf:

Where did I state such a thing  Your fans are turning this non-issue into something. I merely answered a question as to the reason of the ironic cheers. If couldn't give a toss is your highest gate of the season thus far (much larger than that of "teams that you care about" such as Derby and Forrest) i'm not sure if i'd like to see you give a toss :dunno:

And to the poster that stated the extra 8k could be solely attributed to Boxing day, then Leicester must be an arberattion, because it was only they who posted their highest attendance of the season in the championship today :chant: With yourselves, Reading an Barnsley also having their highest attendances in a game against us8.

*(We haven't played the other four teams that played at home at their ground, so this post could be subject to change.)

I was looking for Leicester fans' opinions on the game today, is that ok with you?

As for the football, eh, like picking between clamydia and the herp in regards both sides. They were woeful, we were woeful. I hope to be in the pub before Thracian gets on here and starts masturbating over Max Gradel because I thought he was just as anonymous and weak as everyone else on the field.

He displayed nothing to make me feel we're missing out. No doubt Tony's going to tell us how being in the right place in the right time for the goal (and hypnotizing Naughton to fall over with his fantastic psychic mind bullets, or something) and that's the greatest skill of all or some rubbish but at the end of the day, any player in the country could have scored a free header in an empty penalty area.

We lacked any sort of motivation, they lacked any sort of penetration and the game was just fucking tedious - goals aside.

Really no, not at all. I would have been happy to take a point before the start of today's proceedings, because Leicester are a good side. The manner in how the match ended does leave the result feeling like two points lost rather than one gained, but we've played better and lost.

Is this the first year you've ever followed football? Or are Leeds fans just utterly miserable in the festive period?

We always get pretty decent attendances on Boxing Day. I usually sit with my old man and his colleague from work. Today we brought my sister, who comes about once a year (on Boxing Day) and the other bloke's two sons and son in law.

It's just a family thing to do? It's hardly a fair stretch to image eight thousand other people doing the same as us. :dunno:

Always as much as 8k more :sge: ?

Our highest gates generally come against teams we consider "Rivals," although we haven't really had the opportunity to play such teams in a loooong time. Can't really think of a team in this division that warrants the term.

You are one of the only teams that sold out your allocation and we generally have a packed house on boxing day so I think your idea that everyone comes out the woodwork to watch against Leeds has very little foundation.
