Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 26 December 2010 Posted 26 December 2010 I'm not really sure what to make of the game and performance today. Both teams looked very average till when Gradel scored and Leeds then looked the better team. At the back we were dreadful, I know Hobbs didnt do too badly, but Davies and the full backs were generally quite poor. I have constantly said Davies is overrated and today proved that, he got out played by Becchio and he was the main man responsible for the second goal. Kirkland should not have been beaten from that angle, but Davies half heartedly went in for the block before looking like he pulled out. Then following the penalty we looked a good team. Though why the keeper wasnt sent off was a joke, clearly last man. I do really think that to progress in the second half of the season our defence must improve. I think we are very dodgy back there, and for some reason people keep saying how great the loan players are. Davies is no better than we have in my opinion, and has almost been given so much praise because of his well known reputation. Both goals conceded were soft and could easily have been avoided. I'd liek to see Berner back in, just to add his experience to the team, as Cunningham can look weak and is often to far forward.
Captain... Posted 26 December 2010 Posted 26 December 2010 START LLOYD DYER. He is very effective as a sub though, I don't see any harm in starting with Howard or Bednar, especially away from home, and bringing on Dyer to liven things up if needed. I think he should have swapped wings with Gallagher when he came on though, he is much better on the left as a winger in a 442. 443 he can cut in on his left more, but there were a couple of times today when he was on his right and couldn't get the cross in.
fatmando Posted 26 December 2010 Posted 26 December 2010 :colder: Sven must be running low on get out of jail free cards by now. Rather see Waggy on than Howard/Bednar. What a strike from Kingy....Captain Fantastic!
Ashley Posted 26 December 2010 Posted 26 December 2010 at the Leeds fans on waccoe saying the walkers shaking is an accident waiting to happen. Do they not teach them anything in school up there?

MattyFromLE Posted 26 December 2010 Posted 26 December 2010 I think changing Howard for Bednar make any difference. Just a like for like swap; although just before Kingy scored Waghorn was getting ready to come on...I'd love to see Dyer start, but, i think he's such a useful asset to have as a sub to bring on if our normal format isn't working. I'd still like to see Vassell up front on his own, Gallagher on the right, and then Dyer/Waghorn on the left
Ashley Posted 26 December 2010 Posted 26 December 2010 What? When leicester or an away team scores the stand shakes and they think its an accident waiting to happen. People who sit in L and N will know what I am talking about.
Ozwin Posted 26 December 2010 Posted 26 December 2010 I remember when it felt like the kop shook once.
Narborough_fox Posted 26 December 2010 Posted 26 December 2010 I remember when it felt like the kop shook once. Wednesday in our relegation season?
Babylon Posted 26 December 2010 Posted 26 December 2010 Had the misfortune of sitting in front of the most miserable fecker I've ever cone across today. The game was bad but this bloke took the biscuit. Leeds put two passes together and it was like watching brazil, he slagged of everyone and everything we did. If you are reading this penfold, don't bother going next time because it's not going to make you happy. Comment of the day from him "hope they score a winner to make it 3-2 so I can call radio leicester, I've got it on speed dial on my phone".

Babylon Posted 26 December 2010 Posted 26 December 2010 Better, why did you not just tell him? I did several times, it's called sharing a story. You must be related.

Ah, I missed the part in your story where you told him your thoughts, my bad I fail to see, however, why telling your story, and tell him your thoughts are mutually exclusive events.

AmericanScott Posted 26 December 2010 Posted 26 December 2010 Leeds looked the real deal in the first 60 minutes or so. We kept playing hopeless balls forward and no body seemed to be bothered. Bednar changed it for us. I got excited when i saw Bednar giving it his all and you can tell his attitude rubbed off on everyone else right away. i had a good feeling when i saw that. Kasper should've been sent off. Nuff said. It seems to be the story of our season now. Shit first half, better second half. lcfc_jme, you owe my girlfriend an appology after the second goal when you fell down in front of her. She's got bruises on her leg and face! Hope you're alright though haha. Managed to convert her from a Leedscum fan to City today. I really do love her especially after she started screaming "we all hate Leeds scum" even though shes from the fooking place. Bring on MILLLLLLLLLLLLL
Guest ttfn Posted 26 December 2010 Posted 26 December 2010 By and large we were terrible. Thought Gradel looked like he'd come on leaps and bounds. Not sure why people are giving Sven credit. He made the changes too late. Dyer should have been on at half time for the woeful Gallagher. That said, Gallagher's penalty under pressure was excellent. Penalties are ideal for Gallagher; they allow his narcissism to benefit the team. Howard was shocking. Won nothing at all in the air, which is all he's in the team to do really. Given my irrational hatred of Roman Bednar, the fact that I considered him a major improvement on Howard indicates the poverty of Super Steve's performance. Overall, very fortunate to escape with a point.

Overall, very fortunate to escape with a point. Thought Gradel did bugger all personally and if Naughton had longer studs then the couple things he did do wouldn't have even happened. As for being lucky, it seemed a fair result for a game with two teams performing pretty badly. Leeds were shit, we were just worse for the first part.
MOT Posted 26 December 2010 Posted 26 December 2010 I think I was right, you must be related as you both have the humour and charisma of a dead cat. And you are a standard as to which all humour should be set?
lestajigs Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 To be fair I thought we were poor today, not good enough for at home, sorry lads should be winning these games
Haydos Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 And you are a standard as to which all humour should be set? Just fook off back onto your own forum if the banters too shit on here. You're a bigger club, it's fine, you don't need to justify it to lil ol' us. I think someone's a bit bitter that they threw away a 2-0 lead against 17th place though
ajthefox Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 The fact leeds are whre they are in this league shows how spectacularly average this division is. We were shite today for very long periods, there was no tenacity no pressure on the ball and little need to attack their backline, and yet we still came out with a draw after being 2-0 down. Had we played even as good as that short spell second half we would have won. Their first was because there was no pressure on the ball and then Naughtn slipped, and although their second looked good from the kop, looked to me like it's gone through kirkland on the football league show. I know our record under sven is brilliant, but I find myself questioning his man-management and motivational skills. It seems we need to go behind to actually do anything. Watford, Doncaster and Leeds we needed to go behind/ wait for the second half to do anything productive. Not to mention that we never even turned up at Portman road. And that's just our last 4 games. Cardiff is another example of where we didn't come into the game until late first/start of the second half.
