LeicesterLuke Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 stringer said wednesday on RL earlier on. **** sake. Looks like im gonna be ill that day. Well so my boss thinks..
blueincornwall Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 Great game today, lets hope they play like that for the rest of the season....confidence booster !!
Mee Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 One of the best performances i have ever seen at the Walkers. We should have won. If Bamba can control Tevez like that, and be that effective from set pieces, then the championship should be worried. Top signing.
Fosse Boy Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 Magic of The Cup alive and well. Everyone played out of their skins, and Man City didn't play badly at all so take no credit away from our performance. We were outstanding. Really hope Weale is now given the numer one jersey back permanently. He's got his confidence back, pulled off some great saves and for me the speculation about us bringing in a replacement for him should stop. As for Sol. My my, Sven sure can pick 'em. Today was a day to be filled with pride as a Leicester supporter. Give credit to the Man City fans too, their end looked the absolute bollocks when they were going tonto after their first goal with the Neil Young banner being unveiled. Heard (though didn't see myself) that one lad ran out the East stand and into their end. Fair play to him. Bring on the replay, gonna struggle to get that evening off work though I feel.
Bert Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 That was excellent. No doubt in my mind we deserved to win. We just seemed to want it more. There was about a 25 minute period where they controlled the game more than us but that's it. It's a shame we can't play like that every week. We know we can do it now, and if we can no-one in the league would touch us.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 Are we still going to look for a left back or give Berner first team assurances? Seems to be back to his best.
colbo68 Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 All herald RICHIE WELLENS He had patrick viera in this back pocket! And the whole team were awesome! I agree, the whole team to a man put into sooo much effort - Nigel De Jong is a dirty little fooker though and Tevez is a **** - I'm so glad we matched them and it demonstrates how stupidly overpaid their players are. If Sven has signed Bamba to make us a threat at set-pieces then its a very shrewd bit of business...
BoneDog Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 Love Bambas slight Scottish accent. Kept expecting him to say 'Ya Ken?'. If I could remember how I did the Yuki Abe Dr Evil pic I would be making a SuperBambaMan sig now.

All the players are hero's for that, more than matched man city with all their millions and possibly unlucky not to win.
Jordan Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 Wow. I thought we'd go for it and get burned... But never in my wildest dreams did I think we'd have that kind of a start. I can understand why Leicester backed off a bit at some points because Man City's off-the-ball movement was unlike anything most of our boys have seen in a long time, if ever. Yuki Abe made a bunch of great tackles but surely he was most at fault for both goals (let Milner toast him on the 1st then hemd Tevez onside). Harsh considering he may have been our best player in the first half of the game, if not first half of the season, but it is what it is. Even Wellens and Gallagher went for every ball. Fvck. Some of Leicester's passing today a(n intentionally neglected poor) pitch were top class. I swear, I have a Brazlian friend whom I never told the City-City game was on tv here in the States, and he sent me many unsolicited texts raving about Leicester. And he's Brazilian, so let's stereotype him as a football genius. I'm so proud of Leicester. I'm happy the game was on TV all over the world--i can see the best in the worst of Leicester City so I'm glad a lot of neutrals saw the best of the best.
I love ruining footy Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 I was very impressed with you today, you were possibly better than 2-2, but thank god we've got you back at COMS where we can show you our full stadium doing the Poznan
MikeyT Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 From SSN. Leicester proved to be more than a match for Manchester City on Sunday as they secured a 2-2 draw in the FA Cup third round. The Foxes made the perfect start to an entertaining contest, with Sol Bamba bundling home inside the opening 60 seconds. James Milner and Carlos Tevez helped turn the tie around, as the Blues flexed their Premier League muscles, but an uncharacteristic error from Joe Hart allowed Andy King to snatch a deserved leveller for Leicester shortly after the hour mark and a replay must now take place. Leicester boss Sven Goran-Eriksson had his troops fired up for a meeting with his former employers and the hosts took just 45 seconds to break the deadlock. The visitors were caught napping from a short corner and Foxes new-boy Bamba was in the right place at the right time to notch with his first touch in English football. Bruno Berner then went close to doubling Leicester's advantage when he snuck in at the back post, but Hart was equal to his effort. Roberto Mancini's side finally started to find their feet after a rude awakening and Patrick Vieira saw a well-struck volley beaten away by Chris Weale, before Milner levelled things up on 23 minutes. Tested The England midfielder exchanged a neat one-two in midfield with Tevez before drilling a low left-footed effort into the bottom corner. Tevez lashed over from 18 yards after collecting a loose ball on the half-hour, while at the other end Hart's reflexes were tested by a stinging 25-yard drive from Yuki Abe. Leicester were very much in the ascendency as the first-half came to a close, with Bamba causing all sorts of problems to the Blues' defence from set-pieces. They were unable to make their dominance count, though, and the Premier League side got their noses in front on the stroke of half-time. This time the visitors played a short corner of their own and once Milner sent over a skidding cross, Tevez was on hand six-yards out to flick the ball past Weale. Leicester, having taking heart from the opening 45 minutes, burst out of the blocks at the start of the second period, with Lloyd Dyer racing through before firing into the stands. The visitors' heads appeared to still be in the dressing room at this stage, with the hosts running riot. Jack Hobbs planted a free header over the bar, with no defenders in sight, and it became only a matter of time before an equaliser arrived. Spilled King duly hauled Leicester level on 64 minutes, taking advantage of a spill from Hart to poke the ball past the England keeper and roll it into an empty net. The visitors continued to push their luck thereafter, with Richie Wellens felled right on the edge of the box before Bamba, again rising highest from a corner, saw a towering header nodded off the line by Milner. For all of their failings, though, Mancini's side should really have booked their passage into the next round 10 minutes from time. A flowing break saw Tevez square to the unmarked Nigel de Jong, but he fired straight at Weale and is still to break his scoring duck for the Blues. With time running out, Abe flashed a sliced effort well off target and Jo was unable to pick out a team-mate after surging into the box down the left. Both sides gave their all in search of a winner, with neither particularly keen to add a replay to their already hectic schedule, but there was to be no late drama, with Tevez seeing the final chance of the game blocked by the feet of Weale. The two sides must now meet again at Eastlands in order to find a winner, with a contest against Notts County awaiting the victors in round fou

BoneDog Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 That was every penny of the £9 signing up fee for ESPN, well done Leicester, great game. Yes definitely worth it, we did the same and booked a month. As soon as Bamba scored at the start we were satisfied that we'd got our moneys worth! Lovely stuff to watch, just a shame couldn't be there.
MikeyT Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 de jong is a dirty little fooker...stamped on Richie's hand right in front of where I was sitting then kicked him in the ribs - twat Yeah i saw that too, just up the line from where i was. Always has been a bit of a dirty player though. God am still buzzing after that, what a performance.
mrgarrison16 Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 where on the bbc does it say the replay is definately on the wednesday
Wymsey Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 Savage is still an idiot in my opinion regarding Bamba. 'He's done well against a big club like Man City but will he perform well against the likes of Millwall'. Fook off
Joe. Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 Very proud of our boys tonight, it's clear we deserved at least a draw from that. Bring on the replay.
MikeyT Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 Just think if we could perform like that every week.
