Guest BlueBrett Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 We were unbelievably good today!! Richie Wellens was the best player on the pitch. The back four were awesome. Bamba looked like he is exactly what we have been missing and he beat everyone to everything in the air, Hobbs was immense, Naughton was great at both ends and must have run about 100 miles and Bruno had a really good game too. Darius Vassell put in a brilliant performance and caused them all kinds of problems with his clever arched runs in behind and even Gallagher really got stuck in to them! If we could play like that every week we would destroy everybody in the Championship! Oh I almost forgot about Weale!! Let's just say that if Kirkland hadn't fuc.ked off back where he came from we would have lost today. We deserved to win but I couldn't be more proud of the lads.
BoneDog Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 Can't wait for the frickin highlights tonight mang :fox:
MattyFromLE Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 Just got in! Brimming with pride and admiration for the performance every single player put in today! Bamba and Hobbs looked solid, Weale was by FAR more comfortable than Hart looked. Wellens deserves a knighthood and i don't think i could actually pin point one player who didn't put 110% in! What a match! Could, maybe should have stole it just at the end! What a game.
Guest ttfn Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 Am I alone in finding the ESPN coverage actually quite objective? I felt that for the most part the commentator and (in particular) Waddle had a good idea of what our players' strengths/weaknesses were and gave the City players plenty of credit. The again the sound cut out before I could hear Knobhead Savage and John Barnes' take.
the_foxes_till_i_die Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 i had a fiver on 2-2 cant wait to go to the replay!!! for free aswell loooool cmon city!!! :scarf:

broughtonblue Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 18th / 19th say the BBC. Thought Bamba, Abe and Wellens were all sensational today, some terrific battling. 1st half 18th, 2nd half 19th?
Matt Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 We played brilliant, and i'm excited about corners again! We finally look a threat from them. We could have won it, they could have won it, 2-2 was a fair result. At 2-1 down I said I couldn't see us scoring 2 to win the game and wouldn't be too keen on a replay causing us an extra game but we deserved 2-2 at the very least, Very happy and proud. Well Done City. Bamba MOTM, Brilliant debut.
MC Prussian Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 That was a truly great game. I mean, who'd have thought we'd nick a point against the current No.2 in the Premier League and against one of the (if not the) most expensive squad(s) in modern football? Can't really blame them two goals against on a particular player. Yes, defense had a bit of a shocker and Hobbs got found out a few times, but all in all, there was nothing that we could do to prevent them. The difference in class showed tonight - they just have the quality to make those chances happening. But we fought back from being 2-1 down. That equalizer came a bit of a surprise, as Hart is one of the best, if not the best goalkeeper in the Premier League right now. But he dropped it, second ball and in steps King. Boom! Outstanding player of the game and MOTM for me was Sol "Don't Mess With Me" Bamba. Scoring on his debut, great positioning, great distribution, great physical play, a knack for going forward - brilliant. Could've scored another two - what a jumping ability that guy has! But the other ten weren't too much behind. Battled for almost every ball. Naughton and Berner, who hopefully stays beyond the replay in 12 days time, running themselves rugged on their respective side, Abe and Wellens bossing the midfield and just as you thought King was going to slip underneath the radar for an entire game, he puts it in. Gallagher had an above-average game, too - good from set pieces, a bit shit from open play. Dyer speedy as ****. And Vassell a thorn in that ManCity defense. Shame to see Waghorn and Howard coming on so late. Didn't really have much of an impact and Waghorn in particular looked a bit hapless on the right flank. Atmosphere was brilliant, not worldclass, but without having seen the game on TV, I hope the chants and the noise really be heard all around the world. Obviously, the L1 section had to be split up to make room for some of the Manchester City fans. But for what L1 lacked today, the other sections made up for it. It was really special to hear them songs from almost all around the ground for once. Proud to be a Leicester fan. What a comeback. We're going to get battered at Eastlands. But who cares? It's only Notts County away in the next round. Oh, and great to see Muzzy.
MikeyT Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 Just got back and what a game! So, so proud of the lads today. Fought for everything, played and passed brilliantly and scored from another corner! haha
CloudFox Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 So damn proud of the team tonight, and I mean TEAM. They worked so well as a unit: always looking out for each other whilst at the same time looking to support each other when going forward. That's what we like to see As many have said already, if we can play like that in the league......... What's more, the Thai owners must be chuffed--a performance of that calibre broadcast around the world? Awesome
Leicester_Loyal Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 Bamba is a beast, best debut for a long long time.
KnightonSkin Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 That was every penny of the £9 signing up fee for ESPN, well done Leicester, great game.
MC Prussian Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 "Two Leicester legends" I can see one. Btw, what's it like playing in the Serie A, Robbie?

Podge Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 nice 1 thanks for that!! how many tiks will we get? nice 1 thanks for that!! how many tiks will we get? 7,313.9 is 15% of their capacity so I'd guess we'd be allowed 7,314 if we can muster that many.
