It was probably one of the toughest games of our season so far in all competitions, and the draw was a fair result. Great respect to you guys for not booing/singing through our Neil Young tribute, it was an important thing for us, and you guys played along perfectly. Thank you for that. Looking forward to seeing you guys at the CoM. Stacks of your fans in the Counting House before the game and with all the good natured banter going on it felt like a football day from times past. And what a terrific game with stacks of chances at both ends. It was as if nothing's changed. You were always good for a bit of entertainment way back to the 60s and, having watched United today, there's every chance you'll be celebrated as the City's premier entertainers once again before long. Once glorious United were about as exciting as watching the tide going in and out.
NorthernFox Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 I've followed City for 38 years since I was a boy and that was one of the best performances i've ever seen. Wellens was immense, MOTM by a country mile. Bamba was good on debut but Richie, Abe & andy were HUGE.

Commentary and post match is complete toss. "Leicester were lucky to hold on". Get fooked. Wellens was fooking superb today and Abe (Don't want to dwell on their goals) wasn't far behind. Vassell worked his socks off and caused plenty of problems. Best game I've seen from Gally this season and Bamba.....BAMBA! Looks like he can be a massive threat for us and was decisive and clinical at the back today. Just rambling now, fantastic all round and I wish I could have been there Who said that?

Cropwellfox Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 Can't remember a game in years where so many of our players names were sang by the majority of the kop. Nine of them I think. Felt like being back at filbo in the second half. We might not make it this year but if we keep slowly building more cohesion in the team next season should be epic. Proud of all of the players today. No exceptions.

I think a few of our players had off days but we didn't play particularly poorly. Your men made us play that way and it's a credit to those players for forcing errors and hurrying our play. I thought de Jong's big goal was on its way towards the end but Weale made a good low save. A draw was definitely a fair result. What's the early estimates for the number of fans wanting to go to the replay?

If we can keep that up for the rest of the season then the play-offs are looking good... "if". Amazing debute by Samba, in fact, I saw him going up for that 1st corner and I said 5 seconds before, "debute goal coming up here." Never been happier to be right! Soild at the back too - lets hope it's not a flash in the pan. Wellens for man of the match. On a side note, I can't remember any bookings, which is extra weird because it seemed the ref was blowing for even the slightest little contact. I can say that I am very happy though.

It was definitely our best performance this season, and I very much enjoyed the occasion. Your support was pretty good throughout and helped create one of the best atmosphere's I can recall at the Walker's since we moved there. I would imagine that as we'll sell out our allocation. I know it's a Wednesday night but it's been a while since we've had a trip out to one of the big grounds so should be a good following.
