acooling08 Posted 22 January 2011 Posted 22 January 2011 Weale - 7 - Could do nothing about the goals - screamer and penalty. Mee - 5 - Shaky but good in the air and crunching tackle late on. Only 1 penalty was correct decision. Bamba - 9 - Fackin beast. Such a threat and great defensively. Berner - 6 - Shaky by his usual high standards and struggled against pace. Naughton - 8 - Composed and quietly fantastic. King - 8 - Drifted in and out of the game but looked decent. Wellens - 9 - Much of our positive play came through him and as always, he got stuck in. Abe - 8 - He never stops running and played well defensively, perhaps should of closed down better for their equaliser. Dyer - 9 - Again, BEAST 1st half, great goal. Ran his heart out. Tired second half. Yak - 8 - Great goal, strong and tidy player, perhaps slightly selfish at the end. Vassell - 6 - Quiet but decent effort. Should have been awarded a penalty. Sven - 10 - Perfectly set up team, right selection. His signings were great. The right subs. Ref - 4 - willy puller, absolute willy puller. Denied us a blatant penalty and gave them a dubious one (1st pen was a pen). Also ignored the linesman giving fouls for us. Millwall fan through and through. Never been so mad at a ref. I embarrassed myself screaming at him after the penalty.

Webbo Posted 22 January 2011 Posted 22 January 2011 Weale - 7 Naughton - 7 Bamba - 8 so hard to pick a motm today. He gets it for his 2 goals. Mee - 5.5 oh dear. Less said soonest mended. Berner - 7 showed his experience today. King - 7.5 made some good runs into the box, unlucky not to score. Wellens - 8 Great game as per. Abe - 8 Not his greatest fan but I thought he did well today. Dyer - 8 there's no substitute for pace Vassell - 7.5 should have had a pen. I don't think playing wide suits him. Yakubu -8 His goal was pure class.

wurmer Posted 22 January 2011 Posted 22 January 2011 Mee was a 4 or 5 if generous. Gave away 1 penalty and pretty much all of the Millwall crosses in the 2nd half which were being played behind our back 4, came from the left side. 2nd penalty wasn't a penalty.

First was definately a penalty , the lad did look a bit shakey when being ran at by the attackers , but as you say its his first ever league game and the lad has to bed in . Thought he was good in the air , i have faith the lad will come good . In Sven we trust

Because he is playing for Leicester city who are pushing for promotion and replacing someone from the team? I didnt realise this was a 'rate the players taking into account their age and how many games they have played'

Made A few decent saves and did well with the crosses along the ground Berner - 5 Love Bruno but he got destroyed by their number 12 today. Mee - 7 First half very shaky but wasn't surprised with it being his first ever game and all. Head dropped after the pen as well. 2nd half much better. Better with the ball at his feet and in the air. 2nd pen should never have been seeing as Mee was in front of their number 12 Bamba - 9 Quality. 2 goals for a centre half is just unbelievable. Saw his overconfidence when he almost lost the ball trying to turn Morrison in the 1st half but somehow kept the ball but hey ho he did everything else right Naughton - 8 Really good performance today. Got up tue field well and did his defensive duties spot on King - 7 Much more involved than usual. Spread the ball around and a really quality ball for our 1st goal. Wellens - 9 He really is flourishing under Sven. Sprayed the ball around for fun, drove through the midfield as was committed as ever. Was just toying with them at the end. MOTM Abe - 8 Keeps the ball so well and breaks it up equally as well. His distribution is also quality and never stopped running today. Could have closed down their 1st goal maybe but I'll let him off. Vassell - 7 Quiet but much more effective on the wing than he has been before. Should have had a penalty. Yakubu - 8 Lazy but who cares. Everytime he gets the ball he scares the defence shitless. His vision and distribution is absolutely unbelievable and his goal was taken very well. Too good. Dyer - 8 Much better in the first half. Took his goal extremely well and unlocked their defence many times. Could have had a hat trick but his other 2 efforts were just wide and he did well do get his shots off. Ref - 1 Our penalty shout was exactly the same as their first one then how he missed the handball from the resulting shot from Dyer I will never know. Their 2nd pen was never a pen in a million years the guy fell over the ball and Mee was in front of him!! Also ignored the linesman plenty of times giving fouls against Millwall. Only gets 1 for the red card which he probably gave because he was getting destroyed by the crowd. Overall very entertaining game against a very decent Millwall side! Up the foxes!!

My point is, Mee is on loan, Hobbs should be given a chance to gel with his new defensive partner. We can't just keep chopping and changing the defense everytime we dont get a clean sheet - because we won't ever get one!!

Naughton - 7 Bamba - 8 Two good goals Mee - 5 Thought he was a weak link from start to finish and on another day could have cost us points. Berner - 7 King - 7 Wellens - 8 Abe - 7 Dyer - 8 Vassell - 7 Prefer him in the middle, and seemed to want to play up front rather than on the wing Yakubu -8 Quality, can make all the difference this season

Good in the air though. Bamba - 8 - Solid Berner - 5 - Struggled with the pace. King - 7 - Average Wellens - 9 - Most of the best play came via Richie. Fantastic again. Man of the Match. Abe - 8 - He never stops running and very positively defensively. Dyer - 8 - First half he was electric. Went abit in the second half. Yakubu - 8 - Fantastic turn and goal. Abit lazy as expected but movement and touch is class. Vassell - 7

Weale 7 - no chance with the goal, but still it's another long range goal he's conceded. Solid otherwise. Naughton 7 - best right back we've had since Grayson. Berner 6 - nothing bad, but nothing special. Mee 5 - shocker of a debut, but good in the air. Onwards and upwards from here. Bamba 8 - looking like a great bargain, different class today. Abe 8 - fantastic again, great protection for the back four. King 7 - sound enough, nothing went for him today mind. Wellens 8 - fast becoming our key man in the midfield. Vassell 6 - frightening pace, not much else though. The Yak 7 - can only remembering him scoring. Dyer 9 - motm for me. A well taken goal, Mill had no answer for him.
Kitchandro Posted 22 January 2011 Posted 22 January 2011 Weale 6.5 - didn't have a chance with either goal and had little else to do Naughton 8 - Got forward well and was involved in much of the play, defended well. Bamba 9 - Very (some would say too!) confident on the ball, a beast at the back and in opposition penalty areas. He's entertaining that's for sure! Mee 5 - Started very poorly, gave 2 penalties away. Doesn't look great on the floor, Morison seemed to cause him problems. Won everything in the air though and did better second half. Doesn't look any better than Hobbs but I'm sure he won't play that badly every week. The chants for Hobbs 10 minutes into the young lads debbut were out of order. Berner 6 - Seemed out of position quite a lot and outpaced as well. Other than that go a good game - got forward well and no big mistakes. Abe 9 - Got forward much more than usual, ran into the space and passed it well. Another MOTM contender Sooner or later he will score a screamer - so keep trying those long rangers Yuki. Wellens 9 - Another very professional and effective performance. Some of his passing is just breathtaking, a fantastic player and we are lucky to have him King 7 - A bit quieter and more reserved today, I wonder if Sven told him to cover for Abe and let him get forward more. Linked the midfield with the strikeforce well though, especially in the second half. Dyer 8.5 - Carried on from his Man City performance, ran at them with confidence and took his goal well. Probably should have had a couple more, but showed us the old Lloyd Dyer. Yakubu 9 - We have found our goalscorer. His 2 goals so far epitomise what we have been lacking all season, there is a reason the goalkeepers looked foolish for both and that's because the Yak made them look foolish. He takes his shots early and that's the sign of a goalscorer. Other than that he held it up, played it simple, and ran at them with effectiveness. Vassell 7 - Disappointed to see him start on the wing but he proved me wrong, he ran at his man and scared the life out of him. Deserved to score when he was brought down by their goalie Sven 9 - It could have been 4-0 had Hobbs started, but who cares, we played some brilliant football today and it was certainly entertaining. We have all of a sudden found a great front 3 (and that was even without Gallagher who I think is a good player for us). Atmosphere 9 - Great stuff, the Millwall fans played their part when they were drawing, but our support was great today. Particularly loved the renditions of 'Sol Sol Bamba', 'Feed the Yak' and the Poznan. Ref 3 - Escaped a lynching because of the fact we won and he got the sending off right. Was generally shit though, the 2 penalty decisions in the second half were very poor.
