and have to pay stupid amounts of money for away tickets!

I have lots of money so that won't bother me, but yes for the lesser lights it would be a problem, but I would not really know.......

But I carn't wait to book my hotel in Manchester.........:scarf:

For the record

Everton have been in the top tier for over 100 years. Longer than any other club. Yet the doing nothing for the most part and the most interesting thing about them is sharing a nickname with a sweet.

I'm 16 actually ;) . I'm aware Blackburn won the PL but I don't remember Everton qualifiying for the prem. They have done well in the past but you know the point I was trying to make. Yes, the Prem is a brilliant oppurtunity for us but I'm not too keen on watching a game and thinking 'Oh we can go up to ninth. Oh no, down to eleventh." Thrilling season - anything could happen :|

How have you managed to cope this year then?

And take it from me, those mid-table years in the Premier League were not dull, we regularly beat bigger clubs than ourselves and had some very memorable matches.

They've won alot of major trophies throughout their history and were dominant with Liverpool for quite a period in the 80s. And the FA cup in 95.

They're not boring, tinpot, non-entities, mid-table, nobodies. And if we became a mid table premier league team, I'd be loving it.

Youve always gotta be pushing for something or whats the point really. I thought about it alot and id love to see us get promoted.

Youll get to see better players, better football, from our team aswell as other teams. If the team hits the premier league and stabilises you can then start to push forward again, start to compete in the cups and get some good finishes in the league. The only downsides are personal such as expenses etc. At the end of the day though there will most likely always be the club to follow wherever in the leagues it is, and id like to see the team try and get somewhere, fail or succeed rather than bounce about in the championship

not really, just a discussion about what itd be like to be in the prem. not saying were gonna be there next year on anything. Some people believe that they rather see us in the championship than the prem and others dont see it that way. Just a discussion

Let's say we did finish 12th for a season in the prem it doesn't necessarily mean it'll be boring. You don't know what will happen that season. We could be bottom Christmas with 11 points and then we go on a run and pull off a great escape and finish 12th now that wouldn't be boring! I know it won't happen but you can't just say being in the prem is boring. Every game will be a big game. Wed get national coverage and with Sven as manager and stupid amounts of backing from the Thais then we could go places. I mean all these teams that finish mid table in the prem don't have the resources we have even now in the championship! We would also have a better chance of winning a cup and if we won the fair play league we'd be in europe! Imagine that!! So prem please! :)

It's simple.

We establish ourselves in the Prem.

We beat Man U at Old Trafford. We don't do a McCarthy and sacrifice trying to beat Man U so we can definitely beat Burnley. We try and win every game. Beating the big boys is the whole point of playing in the Prem.

Then we win the FA Cup. Once established, this should be our priority. Winning trophies is what it's all about.

So if we beat Man U or Chelsea once a season and have a few trips to Wembley you won't be bored! :scarf:

theres just no pleasing some people lol.

how about we stay in the champ and lose in the playoffs every year then?

il take prem fooball any day, thank you very much! :scarf:

WHEN we go up for the first few years we will need to purely consolidate and try and stay up. Few teams that stay up do anything else.

Finishing 10th is a maximum for me for the first few years.

Once we've settled down, then make the final push for the European places.

In my opinion their have been many prem clubs punching above their weight for years.

Fulham, Blackburn, Bolton etc - Could replace one of these if you compare fan bases, stadiums etc.

Have you seen how tight the Premier League is this year?! Every week would be exciting as hell because every single point won or lost has a huge bearing come the end of the season. How can a weekly scrap to stay in the best league in the world be boring? Even if a team gets off to a flier it can all fall apart after Chritmas as we know and teams that looked fooked after 10 games can often turn things around. You can take nothing for granted in the Premier League because every game is like a potentially pivotal battle in a hard fought war. Not only that but you would get to see our boys face up to some of the best players in the world and hopefully beat them at times which has surely got to be more satisfying than playing week in week out in a league knowing that even if you finish top you are still nowhere near the best. Then there are the players we could attract to the club if we were in the Prem! Look at who we have been able to sign this season with Sven at the helm. Add Premier League football to the respect that he commands the world over and who knows who we could see in a Leicester shirt. I also think that if we could get into the Premier League this year it could potentially have broader and longer term benefits. Being the only East Midlands club in the top flight could significantly enhance our fan base and even help us to encroach on to ground usually held by Derby/Forest. You could call these new fans glory supporters if you like but if they help us fill the (possibly expanded) stadium and buy our merch then it all contributes to our development as a club and would all help to cement us as one of the top few teams in the country.

There are a million other things to say but I can't be arsed. In short, the Premier League is fooking wicked and it is definitely the place to be.

The premier league years under MON were fantastic, you had 6 cup finals a season guaranteed, Man U, Arsenal and Liverpool home and away. You could live off beating one of them for the whole week.

Now you have Chelsea Spurs and Man City to make effectively a big 6.

The rest are all beatable, and capable of beating us for sure.

First of all though lets get there. IF we get promoted this season, then we will be fighting for survival initially. The current squad isn't quite good enough and new players will need time to settle in. If it takes us another season to get there, then we will hopefully cruise through the championship win the league and then be in a better position to start the prem campaign.

Still first priority in the prem is survival, for a club like Leicester it is always going to be priority number 1, look at Villa this season, and Necastle a few years ago and before that Man City and Leeds all established prem clubs getting relegated.

Secondly what added to the MON years was cup runs, we had a good side and it meant a successful cup run was a real possibility. 2 league cups and 3 finals, and 2 Uefa cup games alleviated the "boredom" of finishing in the top 10 for 4 consecutive seasons.

The inevitable relegation scraps will also be exciting if successful.

Although the main reason I want us to get back in the premiership is so that when I tell people in Spain where I'm from they go ah, Leicester City, rather than look at me blankly while I have to explain it is near Nottingham (which they all know because of Robin Hood) and Birmingham.

if we get ourselves relgated this year, we might win more games in league 1 again, THAT will be excitement!

pfffft.

Bring on the Prem, and all the new challenges that come with it!
