The club needed to reduce the wage bill, and I seem to remember that Hume wanted to stay but was told he could (read should) go. Im not sure where this force out thing comes from. I heard Nigel Pearson say in an interview that when he joined, the players that wanted to leave made it clear to him That tells me something. Thats why I'll continue to dislike the players that left when the club were relegated for the first time ever. Can hardly blame him, would you turn down a job that's an hours drive away for 5 times more cash a week? True. But, if I was in his position I'd see West Brom as a sideways move. For instance, wasn't he linked with Everton and West Ham once? They would have been better moves. Anyway, the way in which he handed in a transfer request was pretty bad. I never thought he was a bad player though.

Onions Posted 24 January 2011 Posted 24 January 2011 My Dad sad the same thing to me yesterday about when his mate was let go by Leicester and he held a grudge. TBH though, I've always held a grudge against the actual club, it's not the 'Club' as such I would want to play for. It's the fans who are really the Club. It was different or me as I hadn't played for the first time, so there wasn't really any fans that knew of me, so for me it was about the club itself. Got nothing against some of the staff there who frought my case, as they were decent blokes and I had the best time of my life there, just knowing you are a few years away from playing in front of 25,000+ people (Ipswich were in the top flight back then) and it all being taken away is heartbreaking, but ah well, live and learn.
