Captain... Posted 26 January 2011 Posted 26 January 2011 Surprising to see so many people cry over a football club. I mean it was a gutting feeling when we got relegated but couldnt imagine crying over it I didn't cry I got really drunk, it was my birthday weekend, then I slept with the girl I fancied's best mate. All in all a day to forget. I don't remember too much about the game just being surrounded by my mates and having to put it behind me and concentrate on getting pissed. Henderson wiping out McCauley and getting nowhere near the ball pretty much sums it up. Also Hollowhead's complete lack of tactics and inability to do anything to change the game. He really was shit for us, how he is doing so well for Blackpool I'll never figure out.

cambridgefox Posted 27 January 2011 Posted 27 January 2011 I cried but I rather I didn't, just couldn't help it. Roar a**e!!
Liamlcfc1 Posted 27 January 2011 Posted 27 January 2011 As much as it pains me to say getting relegated was the best thing that happend to us we brought in a good manager who got rid of the crap got some of our best players in
Len Finsbury Posted 27 January 2011 Posted 27 January 2011 We had a terrible team back then, didn't we? Sometimes you need to go backwards to go forwards.
Fosse Boy Posted 27 January 2011 Posted 27 January 2011 First time I cried about football since Phil Neville gave away that penalty in Euro 2000. We had a terrible team back then, didn't we? Sometimes you need to go backwards to go forwards. Completely agree, and the Third Division tour was heaps of fun. I'd kill for awaydays like Hereford, Southend, Orient now. That said, it's still absolutely gutting to lose the proud record we had of never playing outside the top two divisions. Always used to love bandying that stat about.
Crampy10 Posted 27 January 2011 Posted 27 January 2011 That has just depressed me watching that back, to see us go down was worse than the play off losses for me, I was on the back row and i remember our support was good that day, made me really hate stoke and cant wait to play them again with a better team than we had that day. My car got stuck in the mud as well to round of a truly horrible day. Like alot of people it seems alcohol helped to block out until about August! not sure if thsi helps but this is what was happening at half time, we nailed the bloke at 0.58 secs!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WoS8lJ77c0o
Tom17LCFC Posted 27 January 2011 Posted 27 January 2011 that's so depressing. really enjoyed he league 1 season though, with proper genuine fans. i remember we desperately needed a goal so holloway made an injury time sub . onwards and upwards eh
FuriousFox46 Posted 27 January 2011 Posted 27 January 2011 In all honesty without that we'd probably be stuck in 17th in the Championship every year.

Pst Posted 27 January 2011 Posted 27 January 2011 I must admit, I had a few tears in my eyes . Although, I really enjoyed the League 1 season, brilliant experience.
