Good afternoon Leicester lads and lasses. Congratulations last night on once again beating the Blunts. One step closer to the playoffs for you, and one step closer to relegation for them.

:) I've not been online a lot recently, as I said in a previous thread about Mandaric I have a little one now who is taking up a lot of my time. Many thanks to those who gave their best wishes last time. I didn't get the opportunity to say that in the other thread. He has managed a fair few games at Hillsborough now but he still doesn't really know what football is. He'll get there with time though!

I have a few questions about our relatively new signing Michael Morrison...

What do you feel his best position is?

Did you rate him as a player?

What are his best attributes?

I'm asking because if I'm honest he has looked pretty shaky since he joined. We have shipped an incredible amount of goals in recent weeks and like many of his team mates he hasn't performed well. I'm hoping it's just a rough patch.

Thanks in advance for your input!

What do you feel his best position is? He was predominantly a centre half here but was put into right back towards the end of last season.

Did you rate him as a player? He was very good in L1 and decent enough in the Championship, but he had a poor start under Sousa and never really recovered and Sven never really fancied him. He certainly should be one of the better defenders in your league.

What are his best attributes? Strong in the air and regularly scores from set pieces. Weaknesses will be pace, communication and ability on the ball.

He is definately a Centre Back but is a very good Right Back as we found out last season extremely handy as a reserve Right Back, I rate his highly as a player he's definately one for the future and njust needs a arm around him. His best attributes are probably his heading and attacking from corners absoloutly dangerous last season unfortunatly didn't get a look in this season but give him time to settle in and he will be a rock at the heart of your defence.

Tartanowl in answer to the above IMO i was disappointed to see MORRISON leave Leicester as i rated him, i think his best attributes are that he is a typical blood and thunder English central defender, Although he indeed played some of his best games for City as a full back. I take it from your comments it sounds like your whole back line hasnt been performing lately? I think once he has played a few more games for you and got to know his colleagues better etc etc i honestly think he will be a terrific player at Div 1 and Championship level - dont think he would ever be good enough at Prem bu you never know. Good Luck for the rest of the season.

Did you really mean to say that, bring him down to Leicester then tongue.png

Re Morrison, what the others have said. He's likely to be lacking in confidence especially if those around him are also or are a but suspect.

All the best with the little one and your promotion chase.

Morrison will come good for you no doubt about that, good player at that level and ok at Champ level too. Good luck for the rest of the season

Definitely a RCB, but in an emergency can play as a RB

Yup, he's reasonably solid, but he is young so would be better with an experienced head playing alongside him

His weakness is he's not comfortable on the ball so as long as you're not expecting a gifted passer of the ball who can bring the ball out of defence he's pretty competent at everything else

Best position is centre back, I liked him, had some aggression about him and his best attributes were his heading in both areas, can be a danger in the opposition box.

Good defender. Low on confidence when he left here and so going into a losing team won't have helped that. Will turn out OK for you,

To be honest he's a fairly decent player. I thought he played well at right back for Leicester as opposed to centre half but some may disagree. He looked good in his last couple of games for Leicester but he does need a quality centre half alongside him otherwise he is shaky.

Still an unfinished product though and think he could be a very good championship player in the future. One thing I can say is he's no SOL BAMBA!!!

decent young defender will thrive in league 1 and with confidence will be a decent championship defender.

solid in the air at centre half but i also liked him at right back

I was suprised when we signed him and where he came from, because the jump from non league to League 1 is quite big. However, Steve Morison and Charlie Austin are examples (as well as Michael Morrison) that the jump can be achieved.

Obviously he signed as a centre half, and thats where his best position probably is. But, he can easily be played at right back and I always felt secure with him either at centre half or full back. Thats a good advantage there, he is quite versatile. When he played here, I always felt that Morrison was the best header within the club. He scored a number of goals from set pieces; even two in one game against S****horpe once.

I'm sure that he'll make a decent, if not good, Championship defender in whichever position. Good luck to Michael, I always liked him at Leicester

Edit: Totally misread that :S

I've got a soft spot for Wednesday because of friends etc and although a bit sorry to see him sold I was pleased for you when Morrison followed Mad Mandy up the M1.

Not playing regular football hasn't helped him this season, as he was very reliable in L1, and had a decent season last year in the Championship before he picked up an injury. I think he can be a very good centre half in time, but Sousa's short-lived reign has seemed to somehow knock the stuffing out of Morrison and Hobbs, who last year was tipped for great great things.

At £200k or so I certainly don't think you'll have wasted your money and I predict your fans will come to really like him.

All the best for the rest of the season. Wednesday fans deserve better than League One, always enjoy going to Hillsborough and your away support is quality.

Welcome back Tartan.

Morrison will come good for you, I'm sure. I'd have liked him to stay if I'm honest but there's no room for sentiment in football I'm afraid....just not got the room for him here. Can't ever see our fickle lot giving him abuse when we meet again though, a wam welcome for him I'm sure.

Probably just a blip in your side, that's all. Good luck for the remainder of the season.

What do you feel his best position is? Centre Back, but he's a competent right back. A solid league One defender who doesn't take any shit.

Did you rate him as a player? At League One level, yes, and he's decent enough at championship level but not totally proven. He'll be good with regular football.

What are his best attributes? Strong, good in the air, and will score from set pieces. Seems a bit on the slow side and tends to lose concentration at times though.

Must disagree with the 1st reply and a few others here, he isn't very good at any level that we've seen him yet.

Certainly got potential and was a decent, competent centre back in L1 with presence. Still young and lots to learn.

Sunday League right back though. All his key attributes give him bags of potential at centre back. Height, presence, strong and he loves putting his foot through it!

Seems like a nice bloke, hope he does well at Wednesday.
