Goal music is shit, and larry I'd say it has the exact opposite effect of making celebrations last longer by getting everyone sat back down the second it's switched off

I quite like having music to be fair... Personally I think it helps build a better atmosphere when we score and it carrys on the celebrations for longer. Dont really see a problem with it.

This forum really does piss me off sometimes with some of its idiotic responses. Talk about getting shot down for having an opinion

It's just based on what I've observed having seen Leicester at Filbert St and the new ground. Filbo = no music, remember loud spells going on for ages after a goal. New ground = music, majority sit down and keep schtum immediately (and I do mean that, look around next time we score at home) after the tannoy stops.

Me loves a bit of goal music. What was the son when we got promoted last time to the prem? Not sure if it was rocking all over the world

Edit: You say its small-time or whatever and singing is better but we all kinow at times the KP is like a library even when we score. We're not as loud as the big time clubs like man u so why act like we are.

Completely untrue.

The whole point of having goal music is an indirect message to the fans, when the music ends, naturally everyone thinks "right, goal is over, sit back down", sadly, it works.

Sorry, we're not as big as Man Utd, so we have to accept being small-time? Good lord. There's a reason we're not as loud as people like Man Utd - and it's attitudes like yours, who are content with such things.

And if it's such a library, any co-incidence that goal music plays a part?

That was at full-time. They should maybe play a song or two, not too loud - or not loud enough so you can outsing it. :)

Fair enough. I just like a bit of a boogie to the music. Maybe I should just take my ipod lol

Sorry to dissapoint you but until we are established in the prem we are hardly big time are we. I would love our stadium to be rocking for the whole match but the point is it isnt. I dont see how my attitude towards having goal music dooms us to being a small time club forever.

Filbert st was much better for atmosphere anyway so can't really say it's because of the non goal music..

No music? Why are some people on the forum so boring?

lol

Why are some so tinpot.

Good day to you.

I'm not arsed about where we are when supporting the side, my point is, I don't see why for us it should become acceptable to be tinpot (everyone has their own idea of this too) when we're not in the big league? Why can't we just avoid that, and try to be a non-tinpot support whilst not being in the big league?

It doesn't make us completely small-time, but you'll generally find smaller sides do this, it's something we want to avoid.

I have to agree with this... But thats "sterile new stadium syndrome" for ya...

I do see what you're saying but whether we like it or not I think its here to stay. To me personally its just a bit of harmless fun but I understand why others arent keen.

Back to my question though. Anyone know if there is a change this season or are we keeping Fire?

No matter how many times a myth is repeated, it is and will remain a myth.

I can't actually believe people are in favor of goal music. Its taken the piss out of by fans all over the country for a reason, its embarrassing and cheap. When the ball hits the back of the net you want to jump up and go mental in your own way, not have to dance like a tit to a track which drowns out the roar of the crowd and dampens the atmosphere and buzz of scoring a goal. Its a huge cringe when the opposing teams fans burst out laughing and mock our fans when they should instead be with their head in their hands annoyed about the goal they have just conceded. On most occasions at the Walkers stadium for the last few years after a goal has consisted of a track played and then jobber banging the same drum tune and usually only L1 daring to celebrate with a bit of enthusiasm. I'll undoubtedly be shot down for this post but I will never stop shaking my head at the regular kiddy goal celebrations at home games.

Look at the celebrations for the goals here and tell me goal music would have improved them.

I remember as a 13 year old watching Walshy's equaliser. Absolute fvcking carnage.

Spot on!

One of the best hat-tricks I've ever seen; one of the best games I've ever seen in one of the best grounds (for atmosphere) I've ever attended.

EDIT: Off on a slight tangent. Might be worth noticing that when their third went in, how many people rushed to get past each other to get out thinking they'd lost the game.....hardly any. Unfortunately the same cannot be said at the KP. Teems of people would be rushing to get out, I mean it happens when we're winning. Rant over.
