Winchester Posted 3 February 2011 Posted 3 February 2011 The club will just think there getting bombarded by immature kids unfortunately! Another problem is that its become the norm when we score, kids instead of going nuts start dancing like monkeys and whats worse there middle aged parents standing next to then are doing it too! Something needs to change but i'm not sure what we can do! Perhaps the players, as a way of protest, could stop scoring goals until the club agrees to bin the music. :-)
acooling08 Posted 3 February 2011 Posted 3 February 2011 NO MUSIC! If there has to be one, then Fire.
Simmo86 Posted 3 February 2011 Posted 3 February 2011 Perhaps the players, as a way of protest, could stop scoring goals until the club agrees to bin the music. :-) Could be on to something there!
acooling08 Posted 3 February 2011 Posted 3 February 2011 The club could adopt the Valencia approach, whenever they score, the announcer gees up the crows with a bit of call and response. For example King scores. Announcer: GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLL GOL GOL GOL GOL GOL GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLL Number 10 Andy... Crowd: KING! Announcer: Andy... Crowd: KING! Announcer: Andy, Andy, Andy... Crowd: KING, KING, KING! Then the crowd normally launch into a song about that player. Maybe it works better with David Villa than Andy King, but each player gets a slightly different announcement, I can't remember them now though, and it was normally Villa scoring. Would that be preferable to goal music? Worst idea ever.
lcfcadam Posted 3 February 2011 Posted 3 February 2011 it was boring without music, music gets the croud going Get off our board. Seriously though, that really is a load of rubbish and my only thought is that you must be like 10 or something in which case I guess I could maybe understand why you find it fun. It's croWd by the way
The Doctor Posted 3 February 2011 Posted 3 February 2011 Perhaps the players, as a way of protest, could stop scoring goals until the club agrees to bin the music. :-) we tried that in 2007-2008, didn't work.
Captain... Posted 3 February 2011 Posted 3 February 2011 Worst idea ever. Worse than goal music? Like I said this is how they do it in Spain and gets the crowd going, but then for the crowds in Valencia are different to England, they only have 2 corners singing, but they sing the whole time, the Ultras I guess, but they aren't called that. The rest of the stadium is silent, I mean unless you are in the ultras' corners it is worse than Coventry. The only time the crowd gets going is after a goal and the announcer helps with that. I am not saying we copy it exactly, but it would be better than goal music. (I really hate Chelsea Dagger).
Corky Posted 3 February 2011 Posted 3 February 2011 Neither, nothing better than hearing a crowd go up in unison after a goal. It seems as though we have got it for a while, and I can cope with Fire. Chelsea Dagger was just terrible.

Would that be preferable to goal music? Fairly sure they tried doing that sort of thing with reading out the teamsheet a couple of years back. A mate of mine still brings it up - when reading out the defense it was just Patrick! (silence...) Patrick!! (silence...) Patrick!!! (silence...) As nice as it sounds, I can't imagine it working.

Ha ha, I don't remember that, you reminded me of this though: After a goal though is different, and everyone normally gives a big cheer when the goal scorer's name is read out. Which Patrick was it? Kisnorbo, McCarthy, Gerbrand
Haydos Posted 3 February 2011 Posted 3 February 2011 Another problem is that its become the norm when we score, kids instead of going nuts start dancing like monkeys and whats worse there middle aged parents standing next to then are doing it too! This, pretty much. The more the club (and football in general) focuses on 'family' the worse it is going to get. Kids will grow up thinking that going to watch the football is for entertainment. I hope it doesn't go down this route and that there are enough fans who this club really, really means something to.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 3 February 2011 Posted 3 February 2011 If I had to choose, there'd be no doubt I'd sooner have Fire. That said, if we were to even have a song by Kasabian, I'd rather LSF or Club Foot, both would be cracking with twenty-five odd thousand belting them out.
Alf Bentley Posted 4 February 2011 Posted 4 February 2011 Surely we need to show a little imagination and look beyond Kasabian and the Fratellis? Let's draw deep from the well of musical history. How about "Nazi Punks, **** off!" by the Dead Kennedies, "Silver Lady" by David Soul", "If" by Telly Savalas or "There's a guy works down the chip shop swears he's Elvis" by Kirsty McColl? If we had to opt for a themed number, there's always "Fox on the run" by the Sweet. Some might prefer a more modern number. I can't understand why no club uses "I predict a riot" by the Kaiser Chiefs as goal celebration music. Then there are the live music options. Couldn't a special compartment be built into the undersoil heating system so as to allow a special lift capsule to rise up through the turf when LCFC score, revealing a full troupe of Moulin Rouge dancers in frilly knickerbockers to dance a celebratory Can-Can? If the opposition scored, they could be replaced by a wandering troupe of Mexican mariachi musicians playing a mournful tune. That would lighten the mood. Alternatively, we could have no goal music, make 90% of the ground terracing and create our own atmosphere.
z-layrex Posted 4 February 2011 Posted 4 February 2011 I hate kasabian. Boring cheesy radio crap imo.
stripeyfox Posted 4 February 2011 Posted 4 February 2011 No music. Ever. Especially after goals, but also during the build up to kick off when music loud enough to be heard in the next county drowns out any attempts by fans to build an atmosphere. Remember the days at Filbo with a tinny PA system playing a few pop songs in the build up but you couldn't really hear it unless you were stood next to a speaker. Those 20 - 30 minutes before 3 o clock was the time when we used to run through the individulal players' songs, and the visitors would do likewise building nicely to a crescendo when the teams came out. Stick your music up your arse!
purpleronnie Posted 4 February 2011 Posted 4 February 2011 I hate kasabian. Boring cheesy radio crap imo. I'm with you there but at least is has (albeit a very small) relevance to Leicester City. Given the choice the vast majority would want no goal music. But the majority aren't listened to it seems.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 4 February 2011 Posted 4 February 2011 My imagination is on "Fire" with this subject, how about "Blue Savannah" by erasure to appease the fans upset by homophobic abuse recently?
Petchy Posted 4 February 2011 Posted 4 February 2011 Not as bad as the music they had cued up for Elvis Hammond! Anyone else remember that? I think it was 'blue suede shoes but only got used once or twice as he wasn't exactly prolific!
Fox1651 Posted 4 February 2011 Posted 4 February 2011 My imagination is on "Fire" with this subject, how about "Blue Savannah" by erasure to appease the fans upset by homophobic abuse recently? How about "Blue Suede Shoes"
Dan Posted 4 February 2011 Posted 4 February 2011 We really have got to try and get goal music gone once and for all, these owners actually sound like a few that'd listen to the fans regarding these sorts of things.
Corky Posted 4 February 2011 Posted 4 February 2011 If I had to choose, there'd be no doubt I'd sooner have Fire. That said, if we were to even have a song by Kasabian, I'd rather LSF or Club Foot, both would be cracking with twenty-five odd thousand belting them out. I'm sure we had Club Foot as goal music a couple of times.
Darkon84 Posted 4 February 2011 Posted 4 February 2011 Create a mix between Chelsea Dagger and Fire, then when we score, we wont play the music, and everyone just celebrate? Everyones happy then hehe
