Chelsea Dagger or Fire ?

I can't imagine the atmosphere being very loud if there wasn't any goal music after we've scored. Just can't sadly.

I think it's a bit of harmless fun if i'm honest. I respect the fact that people don't like it and what not and that people say it wasn't like filbert st. Well unfortunatly we are not at filbert st anymore. As much as it pains me to say the atmosphere ain't as good at the KP and until it is the music will stay but wish it was something better than fire something more fun maybe like rockin all over the world not sayin it should be just a suggestion

Why has this been brought up again?

We've done it all before. People who want goal music are clowns, it IS embarrassing and small-time, and nothing's going to change with this Susan Whelan in charge as far as I can see because by her own admission she doesn't know the first bloody thing about the game. So let's move on and just pray someone, somewhere at the club sees sense during our lifetimes supporting the club.

It will never become as good if you keep goal music...

No matter how many times a myth is repeated, it is and will remain a myth.

Filbo = low roofs = noise.

Standing up in the Filbo Kop with no grannys or 7 year old kids = high jinx and pashuuuuuun.

New ground where every side of the ground looks the same in terms of the crowd = poo !

From my memory the only part of Filbert Street that was comparable in terms of quietness to the new place was the Carling Stand, but even that had a bit of life for bigger games. The upper tier of the Double Decker was usually fairly sedate as well, but that generally was where the people who didn't enjoy the atmosphere in the Kop bought their tickets for more or less the same price without having to stand all game.

I might take a bit of a slating from the younger lads who can't remember what Filbert Street was like as well as those who can remember it and enjoy the new place, but the Kop took a dirty kebab shit over any area at Filbert Way. On its day, it was absolutely mental. And no, we didn't need goal music to celebrate a goal properly. Just like we still don't away from home.

This subject's been done to death on this forum though, we're going round in circles. It'd take a pretty major shift at the top in terms of attitude to scrap goal music and it's not going anywhere soon.

why in the name of beelzebubs left bollock has this been brought up again?

Goal music is pathetically tin-pot and hinders the formation of an atmosphere. Don't understand why we need it anyway, surely city fans should know that leicester player + goal = Celebration (unless it's frank sinclair).

Spot on Bilo..

I used to lose my voice on a regular basis, in the Kop...

Never done it since we moved...

But we were lucky enough to experience it, so we know what it was like...

So youre the reason there is no atmosphere.YOU ARE NOT SINGING!

i tend to go to more away games, because of the atmosphere.Music couldnt care if we had it or not to be honest.

The North Stand, where I sat for a few years, was very quiet, though it got going for the big games, especially the cup matches. I think some look back at Filbert St with very rose-tinted glasses. There were some dreadful atmospheres there (I'm talking about the later years), as we've also had some excellent atmospheres at Filbert Way.

We really don't need goal music, I can't see what purpose it serves.

Standing on the chairs at the back of pen 1 bent forward so we could see. When we scored it used to go mental and we'd end up climbing back up about 5 or 6 rows to get back to where we were standing.

In all honesty though fire is better than chelsea dagger with all the annoying arm waving and da da da da daing. In L1 you don't really hear the music with the cheering.

How is it a myth..are you really trying to say it wasn't better at filbert st?

Standing..

kop split between fans.. Kop next to away fans..

Lower roofs.. More compact.

Scrap goal music.

When we score at an away game, you'll hear the roar. It's so much better than being conducted to celebrate by the guy who does the PA.

I must admit I seldom sat in the Family Stand so you'd know more than me, family stands pretty much everywhere are dead by definition.

You're right to say the place was exaggerated at times though, to hear some talk it was wild on all four sides and that's obviously balls. I don't think it was dead as some parts of the current ground, but lively it wasn't unless a big game came along.

It's more that the Kop was so much better than anything experienced since that makes Filbert Way really pale into comparison. Perhaps the fact we've had so little Premiership time makes the comparison unfair though, most of my time at Filbert Street was spent in sell-out crowds watching us as a top 10 side in the Premiership, experience similar success at Filbert Way and things might start to improve.

I think comments like that are embarrasing to be quite honest never mind the goal music. Having an opinion or a view on something doesnt make you a clown. The idea of a forum is to discuss things and not to shoot people down in flames for wanting somthing different from yourself. Act your age for god sake.

Agreed, we haven't had a sustained period of success at the Way for the fans to really enjoy.

The first year was good for atmosphere, with big crowds and plenty of wins. Unfortunately we had to wait five years for us to be truly dominant on our own patch.

Posted

Ultimately, it lies with the supporters people. Forget the music, the fact is we have L1, The Fosse Boys and some pockets in the Kop, myself included, who want to make a bit of noise and generate some atmosphere.

The obvious answer? Start a campaign and get everyone together!

My old man has been saying that ever since we moved to Filbert Way. Ideally, you want it near the away fans, but I wouldn't really care if L1 moved to the Kop. All we want is some noise!

Get enough people yelling and, if theres enough will, we could drown out the "goal muzak."

That said, i do love Kasabian. Rather them than us going back and becoming the umpteenth ground dancing like monkeys to Chav Dagger.

I saw us when we were getting 11,000 crowds in the late 80`s but it was still better to me than it is now...

Maybe its because i was a puppy with no cares in the world that made it so great...

"Main stand, start the wave" .... "BOOOOOOOOO!"

Took my misses once (that was 1 too many), shes not been since and that was over 20 years ago.

It's embarrassing and makes us look tinpot along with our plastic fantastic stadium. I really wish there is something we could do about it

Well, it does in my opinion, if you're in favour of goal music. Sorry.

I'm not really in favour of goal music, but I couldn't care less whether we keep it or not. The reason I couldn't care less is because the only time it is played is when we have just scored a goal. Anyone who lets a 15 second clip of Kasabian ruin their enjoyment of a Leicester City goal needs to rethink their priorities.

Posted

Why is everyone bothered about a 20 second clip of music, Its no big deal if we have it or not. Some people on here are so pety, when people state their view and you get arseholes completely destroying them and mocking them for it !!!!
